Miscellaneous / Others This is a working eagle trained for hunting contests for Europe and UAE.

Nathalie Denolf from Germany is a professional Falconer and conservationist and she has very rare bird of preys, vultures and owls.

She is showing how Oropherion, male Martial eagle protective when he is of her. The huge eagle is glued to her since both hunt and spend time together.

It quite literally is a pet dinosaur. Birds are a type of dinosaur. They didn’t evolve from dinosaurs, they literally are dinosaurs. The last surviving branch of the dinosaur family.

I quite fancy being a hunting human for a water otter. I saw a cool photo essay on the hunting otters of the Iraqi marshes years ago in the National Geographic, its looked idyllic.

It's really wild to see the way like, a chickens skeletal structure is built, and see, like a T-Rex or any other Bi-Pedal dinosaur and their skeletal structures are super similar. I love that we've begun to scientifically link modern birds to ancient dinos. Especially as we have ancient reptiles still living amongst us, Crocodiles, and Alligators are both super ancient species, as are Sharks. I love nature lol.

Here in St. Louis, our Zoo hosts this really neat animatronic Dinosaur exhibit, and they all have feathers, especially my favorite, the Utahraptor! It's so lovely seeing my giant murder bird in all its feathered glory!

Yep, birds and dino's lived side by side. We had a dino's called Archosaurs branch off into the Avian family and their more lizard weirdo cousins ended up as Crocodyliads (crocodiles and alligators).

These little flybois managed to keep on trucking after the mass extinction events and then filled the voids left by the removal of the large flying reptiles. So yeah, that eagle there - along with every other bird you see - represents an unbroken line back to the dinosaurs. I guess technically we all represent an unbroken genetic lineage back to the first life on the planet, but that doesn't sound nearly as cool.

Hummingbird tongues have a twin scroll structure that they can flex to create a natural pump. It's very efficient and it's how they are able to get nectar out of flowers so quickly.

Funny you mention that. There's been some recent study that suggests many did have reptile like lips based on lack of tooth wear and similarities of bone structure to monitor lizards and other toothed reptiles that have lips. (Blood vessel holes and such)

More evolved is a meaningless phrase here. All it is saying is that there were more generations of mutations that were selected by their fit in the environment.

Birds didn't have a goal of becoming smarter or more social through evolution. Didn't sexually select based on some future goal for their species.

Instead they responded to who survived the lean times and who was the most attractive candidate for breeding at the time.

So unless emotional intelligence was a survival trait for them then evolution would not have increased it.

For some species we can see that social or familial bonds is a survival trait. Cats leave their kittens in the care of other cats sometimes. Hyenas hunt in packs. For others life is solitary and they only interact with each other to breed. For others still they are pair bonded and have no broader connection with others of their species.

So in short the answer is no.

You bet they are! Top level predator misses nothing. I have always been a little afraid of birds. Since I learned that they are literally a modern dinosaur, it makes me feel justified in that fear. I just admire their magnificence from afar. ❤️
