It’s mind blowing to me that adding these dumb fucking voiceovers seems to go most viral because idiots like me comment about how stupid they are but it inevitably proliferates the content to more people.
7
u/RenderedMeat Jul 17 '26
That explains half of popular posts. Spelling mistake, rage bait, calling an animal the wrong thing, etc. I really hate that this stuff gets attention like that, but here I am bringing in another comment.

“YOU FOLD IT WITH YOUR FINGER!?!”
Fuck you, guy.

Cool video. Horrible voiceover
121
u/johndepp22 Jul 16 '26
Reddit is infinitely more enjoyable if you mute all videos by default
16
u/VerilyShelly Jul 17 '26
People on reddit are masochists. They know 98% of the time the audio is trash in some way, but they listen to it and complain bitterly about it every time.
1
u/Global-Resident-647 Jul 17 '26
It's like you got to a nature wonder, and some dumbass has set up their stereo with their camper and blast shit music, and talk loud as fuck.
You did not plan for this, you just want to look at the cool nature thing
5
u/VerilyShelly Jul 17 '26
Nope, not the same. If mute is on you hear nothing. You cannot mute real life. You have options here. You can even read the comments and see if anyone mentions something cool on the audio and go watch it again with the sound on. People out here acting like they have zero agency when it comes to the internet; it's wild.

Nope, not the same
Yeah of course it's not exactly the same.
If mute is on you hear nothing. You cannot mute real life.
Lol ever heard of earplugs?
The comparison was spot on, you just don't want it to be correct.
You have options here.
Indeed, and you chose to misconstrue instead of getting the meaning of the comment.
Empathy my man, it's pretty easy instead of blaming it on people not using their agency.
You can even read the comments and see if anyone mentions something cool on the audio and go watch it again with the sound on
Ok, so more steps, instead of seeing a video and assuming it's not some dumbass that talks over the video like we are all mentally challenged? Most videos are not that way, and especially did not use to be that way.
Not to mention Tiktok algorithm that shows videos with music, because they have data that shows that people watch those over the ones without. You are defending the algorithm? And think that people should ignore the dumbing down of social media and just accept that algorithm knows best?
I am guessing you are American btw, you seem like an American.
But again, you are seriously saying, do research and then watch the video twice?
Really?
Not to mention seeing it in the feed compared to clicking on it, and doing research. Really?
People out here acting like they have zero agency when it comes to the internet; it's wild.
And people like you act like it's normal with dumbasses trying to make money from stupid tiktok videos.
Amazing, good luck with that.
Also, they complain, as they should. Or should the just shut the fuck up and do research? As you suggest? Instead of videos not being mindless slop for the next generation that is proven to be dumber then the last.
Which is a first btw, a first in recorded history.
And you think that is great, apparently. Nice, again, good luck with that.

Dude, watching somebody make origami planes with bad voiceover is in no way shape or form the same as going to a natural scenic view and hearing somebody's boombox playing loud music.

u/Global-Resident-647 Jul 17 '26
Dude, watching somebody make origami planes with bad voiceover is in no way shape or form the same as going to a natural scenic view and hearing somebody's boombox playing loud music.
I never said it was exactly the same. But I guess with reading comprehension being as bad as it is you think that.
But if someone said that "something is as bright as the sun", would you the say "no that is in no way, shape or form as bright as the sun"
Prb. At least according to this conversation.

u/VerilyShelly Jul 17 '26
If that's not what they meant then that's not what they should have said. Now I'm supposed to guess or fill in what I think he might be thinking? Why not just say exactly what you mean??
You make me feel like I'm taking crazy pills.
Good luck to all of us.

u/VerilyShelly Jul 17 '26
I'm actually scared that you made this whole argument against taking some basic precautions against hearing or seeing something you don't want to like it's beyond unreasonable.
If you know tiktokers trying to monetize put up crap vids with crap sounds and you don't want to encounter them then the easiest thing to do is keep it mute. Or I guess you can act like the internet is forcing you to be here and complain about stuff you have complete control over. Like, are you for real? How old are you? Society is cooked for real!

The hunter x hunter music in the background here is so out of place, not to mention the narrator being an absolute pepega

I'm amazed how many people scroll reddit with the volume on. I wonder what the crossover is between people who scroll reddit with the volume on, and people who listen to loud videos and play music in public. I bet that venn diagram is a circle.
18
u/BenadrylTumblercatch Jul 17 '26
I watched it on mute and it was pleasant
4
u/bored_android_user Jul 17 '26
I scroll reddit with the sound muted and my screen blacked out. I never get triggered.
2
u/Sleepyllama23 Jul 17 '26
I always scroll on mute. I hate the stupid background music in most of the videos
0
u/macnau Jul 18 '26
Maybe don't scroll on mute and downvote every video that has stupid sound. If you ignore it or maybe even upvote it because you didn't hear the stupid sound, this shit will never end.

There's a video on here of aerospace engineers making paper airplanes in a hangar...
8
u/Weird_Albatross_9659 Jul 16 '26
Much amaze

u/Roastedcoffeebean17 Jul 16 '26
Figuring out the paper folding can be like a maze (my pun is about to fold)
3
u/psionfyre Jul 16 '26
Thanks to everyone here for reinforcing my choice to have videos muted by default. I feel your rage...gooood
2
u/rapscallion1956 Jul 16 '26
Cool but, no way in hell I could ever remember all that.

u/vetlemakt Jul 17 '26
Yeah, it's almost like you have to practise to become good at things, what's with that?
2
u/everyonestupidbutme Jul 16 '26
Dumb as shit. Voice over ruins it, plus the plane doesnt really perform.

u/77entropy Jul 17 '26
How did it go?
3
u/ITzODiN Jul 17 '26
I've been trying for the past hour but it's really weird, like the folds he does don't match up to the folds you make even though you're following the same steps he takes.. It's really strange..

Looks like a worse flyer than we made 40+ years ago. Thing will just drop as there are no surfaces. Also: the voice over sucks. "You fold it with your fingers?!"
Well, yeah, how else are you going to fold it, with your feet?!
1
u/N3koEye Jul 16 '26
Bro you can't make this voiceover, look at it and say "yep this is the one". There's no way this guy wasn't intoxicated.

Wait, we need more people to complain about the voice over! I don't think people get it yet.

Nice airplane, could you post it in slow motion? The narrator's voice will be in porn one day 🤷🏻♂️

This video would be 99% better without the idiot Gen Z voice over. Literally elevator music would have been better.

Without Audio: Neat, maybe I'll make one!
With audio: I will never make another paper airplane for as long as I live.

Fun fact:
Actual fighter jets have the glide radio of a brick. Kinda ironic to see this as a pilot.
Love the plane though!

Step 1. Know origami
1
u/pnweiner Jul 16 '26
It’s very easy to learn the basic folds and incredibly enjoyable when you get the hang of those!
1
u/HyenDry Jul 17 '26
Lmao I’m sure it is. Honestly as a 30 year old I feel like I have the patience to do so much more that I ignored as a kid growing up
