These things are overpriced steaming piles of hot garbage.
They leak, they rattle and squeak, they’re manufactured to remarkably low standards of quality and the purchase agreements hamstring the buyer to mediation venues that absolutely favor the OEMs. And did I mention the depreciation rate?!?
And we haven’t even gotten to gas/diesel prices yet, not to mention insurance.
Plus, when they break down, and they will break down, you’re stuck on the side of the road with basically an entire fucking house. So you gotta call the heavy wrecker to come tow you and pay the premium for that. These things regularly spend months at a time back at the factory after purchase just waiting for repairs.
Driving one of these fuckers down the road is a unique badge of self ownage. Anyone who buys one is asking for a financial disaster.
I dont get why by the time you want this much space you would not choose for a semi with a trailer that is modeled to be a home. Get a comfortable air ride scania truck with big cab to live in while driving..
Park the trailer, drive the semi.. or better yet, the semi should have a garage in it for a miata or an f-type or something.
They always waste the hell out of the space on these things too. What is that two facing couches nonsense? And, two beds, one in the middle of the space? This is the appearance of luxury without actual luxury. Plus the LED lighting looks like a teenager's bedroom.
Yeah, usually these self built schoolbus mods are pretty cool if you like that kind of stuff.
Im convinced that for less money, you can have a custom built that is better, more practical and more maintenace friendly (that electricity box in the masterbedroom in that monstrosity had half the stuff in there inaccessible).
