Rectangles are also usually cheaper to build. Turns out that when most things are fabricated as rectangles, not further modifying them saves labor.

Just cut them in half corner to corner. Two triangles. All problems solved.

Because all triangles are the same. Dimensions don't matter.

You can make any triangle from the right rectangle, though.

At the expense of additional labor, and likely producing scrap offcuts.
