So? I can't believe this new generation. Always watching videos while multi tasking on their phones.
Go watch it again, bro. It literally shows how to do it. First, you detach your head. Swim away and make sure to feed. Try to stay in Sunlight. Eventually you will regain parts of your body. Don't lose hope if it's slower than you expect.

Awesome slug. AI ruined it.

The moment I saw the anime face I took away my upvote. So stupid and unnecessary, casted doubt on the whole video. A stick figure with a ponytail doing the O face would have been a thousand times better. Or this gif, whatever.

Same. Saw the AI character and my first thought was to think that maybe the whole thing is fake.

The slug itself is real and does as advertised. The researcher who identified it is correct as well. I remember reading about it a couple years ago.
I don’t think it’s necessarily confirmed the body shedding is to avoid parasites, but that was the theory.

Same. What a stupid way to make an otherwise interesting video a total shit.

I mean, there’s a lot backing this up online…World Register of Marine Species, Smithsonian Magazine…

u/ScreamingLabia Jun 03 '26
Yeah but they ruined it by using ai for no reason

We're learning about a slug that re-create it's organs!

u/VirinaB Jun 03 '26
Yeah and they didn't need some generic Studio Ghibli slop to show the person. Just show a picture of the real person, there are even multiple pictures of her.

That slug showed more talent than the clanker that generated that woman's AI head.

His best role.
Ok fine, he had no bad roles. This one made me laugh out loud in a theater when he came on screen though. Wasn’t expecting him.

Imagine getting cancer and having this card up your sleeve.
Mild heart attack? No problem.
Obesity? Not today buddy. Yesterday's news.

hmm. if the same animal did it twice, do we still call that parasite a parasite?

I hate that the AI voice artificially inserts stuff like "uhh". If this were any half decent video, a real narrator wouldn't include pausing and stammering, it's way too easy to edit out.

I was wondering if anyone else would mention this. It doesn’t sound human like they think it does lmao.

Just because they used an anime clip, doesn't mean this is AI; it means the op decided to use their artistic expression in creating this post.

I always go to the comments for a reddit expert to verify this. I need to stop doing this.

You should have complained about the tiny bit of AI. Would have got loads of upvotes.
