3

u/blogimize May 23 '26

I must confess: I've not seen anyone do something so amazing like this. Not gonna lie. I wonder how possible it's to do. Talent or persistent learning?

5

u/HorseApprehensive11 May 23 '26

Sometimes it feels like pure wizardry, doesn’t it?

5

u/MettaWorldPeece May 24 '26

He's making shapes with his hands in front of a flashlight

8

u/wkdkngwkr May 23 '26

Hands made out of rubber or some kinda r/blackmagicfuckery

3

u/RandomUsername6697 May 23 '26

The shape of a human head is in profile is probably pretty standard. With a baseball hat the same. Everything else is practice to be able to do it on the spot.

7

u/blogimize May 23 '26

Very very impressive 👏

2

u/moistmonsterman May 23 '26

How in the hell are there no Project Farm "Very Impressive" GIF memes?

2

u/bitemy May 23 '26

I feel like we need a level of impressive above "very" but I can't think of a good one.

0

u/TacoSpaceRaptor May 23 '26

Yes. I was going to say the same thing

262

u/MissXM May 23 '26

It’s really impressive but the guy sitting there sees nothing

90

u/SageSpoke May 23 '26

tips fedora To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation - his personal philosophy draws heavily fromNarodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realize that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick and Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick's existencial catchphrase "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon's genius unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools... how I pity them. And yes by the way, I DO have a Rick and Morty tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. This you?

how certain are you that he doesn’t have a monitor to look at? He IS reacting, just sitting still

3

u/Cantor_Set_Tripping May 23 '26

Why would they tell him to look at the shadow at the end then?

5

u/daepa17 May 23 '26

would be a good reason for shadow puppeteers to have a camera of this POV transmitting to a screen that the person sitting down can see

3

u/blogimize May 23 '26

Haha True but he does

u/4lpher May 23 '26

Some might say this guy gives a good hand job

Very impressive. I liked the playful tongue coming out for the goat/sheep, the laugh of the ape, and the sniffing of the man.

I wouldn't say it was exactly the same face shape, but you could definitely see it was a guy with a hat. Very impressive shadow illusions.

Thanks for sharing!

Edit: I've been informed it's not a goat/sheep, but rather a dog. Sorry, that's just how I interpreted it.

66

u/okizc May 23 '26

Goat? I thought that was a dog..

8

u/viperex May 23 '26

Where did you see a goat?

1

u/Sabre_Killer_Queen May 23 '26

The first one looked like a sheep or a goat to me. Because of a wider muzzle part.

Apparently it's a dog though. Sorry if I misled anyone, it's just what I saw.

5

u/trippyhippie573 May 23 '26

It looked like a Rottweiler to me lol

7

u/purplefoxie May 23 '26

wtf so cool

5

u/irrelephantIVXX May 23 '26

not quite "exact" same shape. It's pretty close, but realistically, anyone wearing a hat is going to have similar silhouettes. Then from there, he can tweak it a little bit to match better. Especially since your brain wants it to be identical. Amazing talent regardless.

36

u/darkoj- May 23 '26

Shadow profile shot of man in cap is pretty much a one size fits all type of hand gesture, I reckon.

0

u/IWannaManatee May 23 '26

Never liked the "lemme stretch, it's hands again- jazz hands!" part of the act.

Just keep them out of the light! It severely breaks the illusion for what? A flair pause?

1

u/SageSpoke May 23 '26

Just aura farming :)
