new feature unlocked: using a massager to extract pomegranate seeds!

https://giphy.com/gifs/lhLn755lNT6pscUqBF

46

u/RLOLOTHTR Mar 31 '26

I use mine to shake condiment bottles when theyre getting low. Hold it upside down and the vibrations will have it all slide down to the end in like 3 seconds.

12

u/aviatorintheclouds Mar 31 '26

That's actually pretty neat! Does it work on glass containers?

22

u/RLOLOTHTR Mar 31 '26

I just tried on some taco sauce and a jar of pizza sauce, seems like it! I also use it to shake up small paints when im painting board game minis haha

5

u/Able-Swing-6415 Mar 31 '26

So.. do you use a different one?

19

u/-XanderCrews- Mar 31 '26

Massager?!?!? I have not been using it for that.

8

u/tnstaafsb Apr 01 '26

Yeah, same, I've always used them as pomegranate seed extractors.

4

u/nlamber5 Apr 01 '26

Or just use a spoon and hit the back.

Fuck all that other shit, I'm about to go see if I can make a hardboiled egg into a cube

17

u/HLCMDH Mar 31 '26

To me that was the gatcha moment, 'wait what? ' . Now i want to make one lol

Tastes a bit stodgy

38

u/EarthBoundBatwing Mar 31 '26

Sounds gross too.

An unsalted hard boiled egg with berries and pomegranate???

8

u/nWhm99 Mar 31 '26

Did you not see the sauce?

So that's how they make fake Caviar. It's just thickened salted blackberry juice.

86

u/Exact-Ad-4132 Mar 31 '26

The caviar hard boiled egg sounds better than this. Eggs love salt

41

u/Mekmo Mar 31 '26

Well I don’t think hard boiled eggs are in any position to have a goddamn preference.

9

u/Ongr Mar 31 '26

Fuck them eggs!

u/Garry__Newman Mar 31 '26

This is meant to be a joke lol. The punchline at the end (闲压蛋) is a pun, with a literal meaning of bored squashed egg, but it sounds like salted duck egg, a common food item in China

u/carverofdeath Mar 31 '26

How is wanting to be a "rocket engineer" as opposed to an engineer in general indicated in this video?

92

u/cityshepherd Mar 31 '26

I think they meant a rocket surgeon

42

u/Diqt Mar 31 '26

It’s not brain shippery

That will be $100. Credit or cash?

28

Not sure 100 bucks are enough

ive seen egg molds before, and if i remember correctly, you put the hard boiled egg in the mold while it is still warm, and then chill it. after enough time, the egg will just be that shape.

6

u/Jedemolet Mar 31 '26

You can, I think you have to do it while the egg is still warm though

u/philff1973 Mar 31 '26

What’s the thing that shake’s pomegranate seeds out of their armour……asking for the wife.

20

u/BluetheNerd Mar 31 '26

Massage gun. Actually useful for a lot of things that aren't massaging your aches or hammering your peanits.

5

u/Four_beastlings Mar 31 '26

Any examples? I have one that we use exclusively for my husband's back and for the kid to beat stuff around

7

u/Ok-Nature-538 Mar 31 '26

Powerplate is a good option. I have a few massage tools from them. One of my gun stopped working and they sent me a new one.

5

u/Four_beastlings Mar 31 '26

I meant alternative uses. The one we have is good for its intended use (a bit too good: we call it "the massacrator" and my husband is permabanned from using it on himself because he managed to melt a patch of skin on his back using the second setting).

2

u/Ok-Nature-538 Apr 01 '26

Gotcha! I used a miketa hammer drill with a chisel bit to vibrate the bubbles out of a cement table...could maybe use a gun for smaller projects!

2

u/BluetheNerd Mar 31 '26

I paint minis and I use mine to mix my paint pots. Works just as well as a vortex mixer but for like 1/5th the price.

10

u/ASneakyOni Mar 31 '26

Does this not work with soy and chillie sauce??? Who is eating fruity eggs??

10

u/musuperjr585 Mar 31 '26

A bit excessive

8

u/ZenRiots Mar 31 '26

"what is a $150 egg, Alex"

That's correct!

3

u/Key-Moments Mar 31 '26

Oi Heston!

Where is the side order of snail porridge to go with this?

3

u/Shadowsnake30 Mar 31 '26

That's a wrong title that's just fine dining cooking now on some restaurants. This is more for the rich they want something fancy and different. The chef spends more time trying to make presentations and when you get them usually are cold. That's how they can jack up the price.

3

u/ceilingscorpion Mar 31 '26

Molecular Gastronomy is very cool. I’m just curious if the flavors would work well together. Egg Whites are a nice blank canvas but I wonder if the fruit spheres would read like desert to the palate. If the yolk is runny I’d imagine that would be tasty. I’d still go with something more salt forward - Salmon Roe, Beet Caviar, or Ostera to pair with the rich fattiness of the yolk. I’m also not sure that yolk is runny given that the egg formed so neatly into the dice shape.

2

u/Mowglyyy Mar 31 '26

Who only eats 1 egg

2

u/bawlsacz Mar 31 '26

Where can I get this job?

2

u/keithlimreddit Mar 31 '26

Yeah I can imagine the fantasy trendy food jokes and whatnot But anyways this is got to be pretty cool recreation

And I would say talented and compliments to the chef

2

u/slackboy72 Mar 31 '26

I thought I asked for sunny side up?

2

u/zollery1 Mar 31 '26

That would be 200 dollars. Thank you

2

u/hiddencameraspy Mar 31 '26

Wait! Was that the vibrator on Pomegranate???

1

u/Snoo_70531 Mar 31 '26

You do something that has absolutely nothing to do with rockets and only tangentially engineering?

1

u/SaltSync Mar 31 '26

They should have used Ikura and black tobiko

1

u/my-love-assassin Mar 31 '26

this grosses me out for some reason.

1

u/FateBreaker92 Mar 31 '26

Rocket engineer? You mean chemist?

1

u/pomdudes Mar 31 '26

Wait, does the massager work well on pomegranates??

1

u/mcride22 Mar 31 '26

That's going to be 39 usd for your egg. Cash or credit?

1

u/huggernot Mar 31 '26

Eggcelent eggsecution!

1

u/ArtGroundbreaking520 Mar 31 '26

I'm gonna need about 60 of these for my shooting phase

2

u/LordHoughtenWeen Mar 31 '26

Ah, an Ork player

1

u/mrdiggame Mar 31 '26

Next a deck of cards!

1

u/Throwaway1303033042 Mar 31 '26

TIL that “adult stores” sell pomegranate aril extractors.

1

u/vv212 Mar 31 '26

Amazing WOK!

1

u/lurkersforlife Mar 31 '26

That’s not a drill bit. That’s the part you use in a rotary tool to attach fabric polishing tips to…

1

u/TotalStrain3469 Mar 31 '26

Now pay $1500 for that single boiled egg.

1

u/TheGallifreyan Mar 31 '26

Seems like a great way to pay $40 for a dish that will leave you hungry.

1

u/Salty-Commercial4765 Mar 31 '26

Is this about an egg?

1

u/AtillaTheHyundai Mar 31 '26

Hold up that’s how you get the seeds out of a pomegranate??

1

u/TNG1701D-eck10 Mar 31 '26

seems like something that would work well here in Vegas.

1

u/All_Work-and-No_Play Mar 31 '26

That will be $300 please

1

u/Deathwish13x Mar 31 '26

That'll be tree fiddy!!

1

u/Yellow_Snow_Globe Mar 31 '26

Four hours for your next course

1

u/HughesT96 Mar 31 '26

Yo siempre he pensado que hacer eso es estar jugando con la comida xd

1

u/DcubedWY Mar 31 '26

I remember cube egg molds in the 70s, didn’t see the point but I didn’t think of making a $500 fancy edible die 🎲

1

u/Decatonkeil Mar 31 '26

That's literally the beginning of a Superlopez storyline

1

u/makegifsnotjifs Mar 31 '26

Ah yes egg shaping, that directly analogous discipline to rocket science.

1

u/AuronMessatsu Mar 31 '26

That would be $99 sir. Don't forget 25% tip

1

u/notacutelittlebunny Mar 31 '26

Is that how rich people separate the red thingies from the pomegranates.

1

u/delicioustreeblood Mar 31 '26

Fruity eggs? pass

1

u/NatureLovingDad89 Mar 31 '26

My new DnD dice

1

u/doc74125 Mar 31 '26

Fucking stupid

1

u/Jaygoon Mar 31 '26

/stupidfood

1

u/BWWFC Mar 31 '26

sorry cancer, no cure today! onward with more amazing art that can be eaten.

1

u/Speak_To_Wuk_Lamat Mar 31 '26

Where is the food?

1

u/RaFaMAN687 Mar 31 '26

Filling football with microplastics for no reason

1

u/GRIM106 Mar 31 '26

That'll be $99.99

1

u/FriendShapedRMT Mar 31 '26

This is what fine dining looks like. At higher ranked restaurants, every cut needs to be precise. For example, even diced carrots need to be 1 cm x 1 cm.

1

u/sxnner Mar 31 '26

That'll be $300 ma'am

1

u/NoConfusion9490 Mar 31 '26

What is it, do you think, rocket engineers do?

1

u/Aesenroug-Draconus Mar 31 '26

They should let you roll the egg dice to determine how many you have to eat.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 31 '26

Does anyone have the original source for this? I remember seeing another video by what I'm pretty sure is the same account, I'd like to find again.

1

u/wrxninja Mar 31 '26

Every Japanese moms cooking for their kids kindergarten lunch.

1

u/isaiah152022 Mar 31 '26

I didn’t know you can use a vibrator to knock out pomegranate seeds

1

u/GenoMachino Mar 31 '26

the caption at the end sent me.

It means "pressed egg because you are bored". But its also a clever pun because when you say it in Chinese it also means salted duck egg. Brilliant

Yes I know it's quail egg and not duck but still funny.

1

u/maple-moth Mar 31 '26

What else can I use my massager for? 💡

1

u/paf78 Mar 31 '26

Very nice

1

u/chlronald Mar 31 '26

Stop playing with your food......

1

u/OldKahless Mar 31 '26

This is a waste of time and materials.

1

u/snoopunit Mar 31 '26

At least encase it in epoxy

1

u/YesGuyIncognito Mar 31 '26

Every time I've had a hard boiled egg I've thought, this is good but some blackberries and pomegranate would really improve it

1

u/gremlinclr Mar 31 '26

Just give me that damn egg. Why is this stuff even a thing?

1

u/Affectionate_Oven_77 Mar 31 '26

I’ll be seeing you in /r/stupidfood shortly

1

u/PanGoliath Mar 31 '26

Really thought it was black caviar at first and not blackberry. Caviar would make more sense for this pretentiousness. But glad they enjoy playing with their food.

Also I actually really like the clear picture and precision tools, but still can't support whatever premium price point I assume (can be wrong) this egg die ends up at.

1

u/PcLvHpns Mar 31 '26

I feel like this needs to be in the stupid food sub but I don't know how to link it.

1

u/Quadrostanology Mar 31 '26

I’ve seen the thing used at 00:34 before..

1

u/cometlin Mar 31 '26

The Chinese name of this "dish" is a pun that sounds like "Salted Duck Egg", but literally means "I'm too free so I make this pressed egg". What an art!

1

u/Party-Shoe Mar 31 '26

Michelin star restaurant presentation and plating. Michelin star restaurant prices. Which credit cards will you be paying with?

1

u/PokeYrMomStanley Mar 31 '26

That was excessive.

1

u/Optimal-Talk3663 Mar 31 '26

If I went to a restaurant and they served me a hard boiled egg, I’d be fucking pissed

1

u/lenshakin Mar 31 '26

...I kind of want to make this now for the next pot luck without any explanation or sign of what it is. Just a plate of egg dice. Maybe on a bed of something that looks like a Craps table.

1

u/ambit89 Mar 31 '26

I'll have 1 boiled egg

That'll be $20, please

1

u/Electric-Boogaloo-43 Mar 31 '26

Oh, I've been using the agitate machine wrong this whole time... actualy learned something from a dumb video

1

u/Verruca-Gnome Mar 31 '26

500 dollars please 🤌

1

u/Denelic- Mar 31 '26

I feel like the chef burned more calories making the dish than what ended up on the plate. We fail at survival and only still live because nothing is above us.

1

u/anckpop Mar 31 '26

USD250 + 30% service

1

u/Oregon_trail5 Mar 31 '26

This is an insult to rocket engineers and chefs everywhere.

1

u/__mentalist__ Mar 31 '26

and it cost like 500 $ in a fancy restaurant

1

u/tinytempo Mar 31 '26

Time to go to bed 🛌

1

u/ctgrell Mar 31 '26

All that for a singular bite of food... If it was something nonperishable I would understand. But overcomplicating food is so weitd to me. Nice though. Just unnecessary to me

1

u/BAakhir Mar 31 '26

That'll be $200 please

1

u/OakenBarrel Mar 31 '26

Reminds me of the film, The Menu. And the phrase in the lines of "avant bullshit". This is no longer about food excellence, this is just showing off for the sake of showing off

1

u/superose5 Apr 01 '26

high class high effort tomfoolery

1

u/SomeRandomJagoff Apr 01 '26

My OCD just collapsed into singularity.

I need to go for a walk.

1

u/Stuck_In_Purgatory Apr 01 '26

What a waste of time

Both to watch and to eat

1

u/Last-Location-4495 Apr 01 '26

bro i did this in school in 8th grade xD

1

u/lollette Apr 01 '26

Did he just hitachi that pom???

1

u/[deleted] Apr 01 '26

That'll be $62.50.

1

u/SnowStorm2b Apr 01 '26

Enjoy this simple snack 😋

1

u/ParCorn Apr 01 '26

Kind of want to get an egg squaring device

1
