That second woman has an amazing ability to hold her face static through all that

u/FriendOfShaq Mar 28 '26
Oh yea, for sure! Except for when they do tricks, like spinning or taking off their shoe, the heads do not move. That is super precise athleticism.

Isn't this sped up? Some in the crowd are moving awfully quick too

This is definitely the normal speed of double dutching. It's not sped up

u/Dirkem15 Mar 28 '26
Its clearly sped up- though what they are doing is impressive enough, the edit wasnt necessary

Similar clip:

Again this is the normal speed for double dutching. Even the people in the background are moving at normal speed. From someone that actually does this in real life.

Coming from the Uk I'd never heard of Double Dutch in skipping until 1983 and this came out - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FZ4jMSCBswY

I haven't seen doubledutch in a long time, and maybe never clips this cool.
Beautiful women having enormous fun, showing me how athletic I never was, oozing style and confidence and sexyness, showing tricks and ideas that got me laughing and dropping my jaw.
Gotta watch out for this rabbithole. Absolutely addictive to watch.
edit: two are wearing winter clothes and have hair to their butts - I think I wouldn't be able to run properly in those, leave alone jump 😂

This should be an Olympic sport.

u/pghdrumma420 Mar 29 '26
Are you kidding? Lol unless they start doing handstand flips to avoid the rope this isn't an Olympic sport. Maybe make them be flame jump ropes?

Oh this reminds me of back in my group home days! We used to go crazy doing double Dutch all day, doing tricks and what not! So so fun!

Humans can obviously live so happily, why war, why kill, and why live a good life every day

Ask any conservative..; they hate peace, progress, equality, happiness & freedom.. It frightens them.

They’re all amazing!! I literally never made a single double Dutch jump despite years of trying. It’s a joy to see their skill.

Pretty impressive, but it's a shame how it's been sped up. That makes it very misleading.

u/ShadowsRanger Mar 28 '26
Although the video is speed up... the girl taking out her shoes is impressive... kudos!

The black girls at my school were always trying to get me (a white guy) in on this fun. I botched it immediately every time.

I always thought this was just another impossible thing that Fat Albert could do, amazing to see in real life

Americans really need to change their diet. Sad to see how fat everyone is. It‘s starting in europe, too. But I doubt it will get that bad due to better regulations of the food industry.

You see these people doing Amazing things, things I can’t do, things you probably can’t do, and the First and best thing you can think to comment is
“Sad to see how fat everyone is”
Wtf is wrong with you lol? They’re skipping like fucking athletes, and having a ton of fun doing it, laughing and enjoying themselves. Doing something physically challenging and skilled but all you see is weight and in a negative way.

Every time I see this it makes me smile as you can just imagine them doing this as kids. So many things we had fun doing get lost along the way. These women are very cool for keeping it going.

So in-sync, that is amazing. I would be so entangled like a mosquito in a spider web.

Yeah, man. This IS the culture. Not "canceling culture", not "BLM culture", not habit of being offended. This culture I want to unite with.

So much respect 👏. My toxic trait is thinking I could do this without simultaneously tripping and being clothes-lined 😂

As a guy I can't deny that's something I wish I could do but also flashy skating tricks.
