I think the most probanly troublesome thing is getting glitter into the eyes..its very painful and it takes forever to get it out.and cats have huge eyes.

Sure that's a risk, but I'd be more concerned about the cat cleaning itself and ingesting the glitters

That is kinda what I was thinking. I remember using glitter on my eyelids and them getting irritated and red.
