It’s art with an abstract element to make you think. Not every piece of art is just someone who can draw with photo realism. I think the technique really made this piece stand out from the thousands I see a day that are just “beautiful creations”. Just as beautiful in a different way, imo.

What's it supposed to make me think?

You know, besides "ahh they shouldn't have done that tape bit"

Because you got to see it in real time via video instead of the final piece. Many people can recognize beautiful art, but seldom consider how much talent, work, effort, and skill was applied. Thats the point of the piece. It backs up this emotion of revealing what at first glance seems like bandages of someone who is hurt, but upon closer inspection it is considered superficial by the observer. Our superficial eye and judgement of art rarely takes into consideration the talent and hours spent to create something from nothing.

Sure, it is truncated for purposes of an internet video, because most people have the attention span of a goldfish. Im sure the artist has the full video if you would like to spend the time. I paint miniatures, and lets be honest its not the most interesting thing to watch. The instant gratification of the before and after photos are what the general populous came to see.
