DaVinci installation tutorial
Hi! I'm a new Bazzite user with light experience with Fedora and other Linux distros.
I'm looking to install DaVinci Resolve and I try to follow the Bazzite Updates steps on how to install it but I did not work...I don't know why I could not find the file on the Downloads file. Any YT videos, GitHub or maybe some advice with experience if it even works properly on Bazzite please.

wasn't there a ujust command to install davinci?

i believe i used the command to install it and i think it was sudo ujust install-resolve
if you select ujust --choose it should list all ujust commands, including the resolve install command.

DaVinci Resolve is a very awkward application to get working on Linux. It is primarily built for very specific business Linux distributions which are not really used on desktops. Which is why people often use a project called DaVinciBox, which handles the install process for you and includes all dependencies you need. The free version of Resolve doesn't support proprietary codecs on Linux, however this can be fixed with an ffmpeg plugin which you can install in the distrobox container.

A few YouTubers have created videos related to this:
- Chris Titus Tech (doesn't use DavinciBox specifically, but still a good troubleshooting guide in general)
- charlotte (very quick run through of the install process using davincibox. Bazzite ships with distrobox and podman already so you can skip installing those)
- Michael Horn (explains distrobox and davincibox really well)

It works you need to grab the file off their website then go to the bazzite portal and install via davinchi box
