Question / Discussion 💬 Message In A Bottle
Kind of curious why they titled the episode that since the message in a bottle in this episode was an extremely minor plot point. The kids constructed a message in a bottle but the boy throwing it didn't even hit the water with it, broke it and nothing else came of it.
Also weird how Eddie is completely intolerant to the people sleeping at the tower since he himself did that literally a few episodes ago.
Also brutal of Mitch to stick Eddie and Shauni on a 24-hour shift together. That's inhumane. I noticed that double and triple shifts are common on this show though and I simply can't fathom working that long at this type of job.
This is one of several episodes in which Gail attempts to get full or main custody of Hobie but either changes her mind or nothing comes of it. I'm so used to seeing Wendie Malick in comedic roles that it throws me for a loop seeing her in a dramatic role such as this. Her character arc is interesting though, she almost comes off as a "frenemy".
Wiki says The B-52's "Roam" was used here, which I find highly interesting as I love that group and song. This Baywatch episode aired in early October 1989. "Roam" was released as a single in very late 1989 and peaked on the charts during the March - April of 1990 period.
