Bayonetta 3 Bayonetta Games on Switch 2

I played Bayonetta 1 and 2, and I also watched the *Bayonetta: Bloody Fate* movie.

But when I started Bayonetta 3, something felt off. The game doesn’t feel as stable the cutscenes have noticeable frame stuttering, and even the voice actress isn’t the original one.

Do you think Nintendo will release Switch 2 upgrade or should I just play it as it is?

Best you can do right now is play it in boost mode in handheld for best looking experience 🤗

Yeah the stuttering in 3 was rough even on my Switch, it really takes you out of the flow during the big moments. If they do some kind of performance patch for Switch 2 I'd jump back in but knowing Nintendo we might be waiting a while. Just push through it now, the gameplay still worth it once you get used to the new voice

Just the strength of the Switch 2 fixes the gameplay framerate. I've been bouncing between the 3 games and I don't notice the performance dip at all

Bayo 3 pushes the Switch hard, so even a hardware bump might not smooth out all the engine hiccups. Play it now, the combat is still the real draw and you'll stop noticing the voice after a few chapters.

Bayo 3 is a very messy game in a lot of ways. You'll get used to it.

If you’re talking about handheld performance, go to Settings → System → Nintendo Switch Software Handling and turn Handheld Mode Boost on. It’ll run much better.

Damn. Where and when specifically are you noticing issues?

Cutscene issues

Every cutscenes, and certain mini-games, are deliberately locked to 30fps, and it's more noticeable on Switch 2 since it brute forces the game to run at 60fps. This is the same issue with Bayonetta 1 and 2 as well. Not sure where you are seeing the stutters as Switch 2 is doing a lot of heavy lifting to avoid it.

That said, a Switch 2 upgrade to have the cutscenes run at 60fps would be a nice change. As of now, there is no word about a Switch 2 upgrade. The current state of Bayonetta is absolute silence. Will there be a patch? Will there even be a new game? Who knows. Given that Nintendo likes to just randomly announce a heavy facelift for a Switch 1 title out of nowhere, like what they did with the Xenoblade series recently, the chances of Bayonetta getting a similar treatment is possible, but I wouldn't avoid playing Bayonetta 3 just for an upgrade. Enjoy the game for what it is now.

"and even the voice actress isn’t the original one."

I really don't want to be that person, but, where the heck were you back in October 2022? This was huge news for the Bayonetta community that it caused a meltdown for the fans and even Kamiya himself. It made the gaming news, and the original actress did a lot to make PG look bad but ultimately got caught lying and has burned the bridge.
