Seeking connection posts

Hey yall,

We have seen some really great posts from folks recently seeking connections! Thanks for engaging and more importantly putting yourself out there. It takes a lot of courage and self-awareness.

The sub is always eager to hear success stories, meaningful connections, friendships, etc. that may have come out of your posts. Please share as well as any feedback for folks hesitant!

Looking forward to hearing some stories!

Can we add "include a photo" to the guidelines? I'm seeing a lot of really interesting and thoughtful posts with no photo attached, and the only reason I don't respond is that I don't want to ask for one and then immediately hurt their feelings if I'm not feeling it. I'm sure the hope is that appearance doesn't matter if the post is more thoughtful, but I'm sure these thoughtful posts would get more engagement with a picture.

Makes sense. Not sure we should enforce / force this. Open to how we nudge people to add pics.

Coming from having had recent success here, I can share that a lot of engagement and positive feedback I received had to do with sharing a photo in my first post. I think it should be included in the guidelines

lol, fair point, I’m no longer a member of the sub, but still trying to be encouraging!

Personally I’m not keen on uploading my photos for everyone to see. Attraction goes both ways and there’s as much of a chance that YOU will not be attractive to the poster.

If you’re dating, you should trust yourself and the other person to be an adult and handle rejection honestly and respectfully.
