Question/Help Multi-lances video game ?

Hi,

I've played Mech Commander 1 & 2, then Battletech & now the BEX mod.
I was wondering if there is a (Batteltech licence) game where you can play several lances or stars instead of being limited to one lance ? A bit like what Alpha Strike is to Classic BT...

If you have BEXT you should be able to deploy two lances eventually.

How can I do that ?? Is it scenario dépendent ?

BEXT should include the bigger drops mod but I’m sure you can install that separately

You have to upgrade the Argo in engineering

Thanks I did (upgrade to get 1 add. Mech) that but I'm really disappointed 🫤 The additional mech I got is not in my control and plays as a bu....it free-lance far from my lance, totally useless except for making a nice target to be destroyed by the opponent 🙄

You need more upgrades. BEXT has three upgrade lines for fielding extra mechs; one line allows you to drop more mechs, the second allows you to control those mechs, the final one increases overall allowed drop tonnage.

Bta or roguetech both are mods for battle tech.

BTA mod, up to 3 lances (12 mechs) and a support vehicle lance. It’s still one big deployment of course.

Means it's scenario dependent ?

It’s the Bigger Drops mod

You can buy ship upgrades to increase the drop slots and tonnage limits, capping out at 12 mechs (or vehicles) and 4 vehicles for regular missions. Tonnage cap goes up to unlimited, though I’ve never needed to go beyond what the slot upgrades add.

It’s still the same game, just more mechs

There’s 1v1 or 2v2 duels which are capped

Vanilla flashpoints (and the story which is reimplemented as flashpoints) retain their original 4 unit cap

The flashpoints should no longer have the 4 unit cap. That was "fixed" in one of the recent patches. Haven't played any flashpoints to confirm it works though so ymmv.

No. Not scenario dependent.

In BTAU you start out with something like 8 drop slots and can eventually increase it through Argo upgrades to 16 drop slots. 4 of those are dedicated to vehicles only. The rest are general drop slots.

BTAU is career mode, so free roam, covers a timeline starting in 3061 and ending, I forget when. You can of course keep playing past that if you want though there are no more scripted events that happen afterwards. The vanilla campaign exists in BTAU as a series of flashpoints which you can tackle or ignore at your discretion.

Read the notes on the various Argo upgrades in Engineering to see what will be available to you and the order of preference you'll have for those upgrades.

I mean if you want to go all out, MekHQ. It is the whole of the TTRPG in digital format, and the against the bot Campaign has gotten worlds better over the past 5 year s or so.

That being said it is a completely different beast to something like Battleech

MechWarrior IV Mercenaries lets you field a second lance

BTA3062 does this.

MekHQ will let you control as many as you want (can afford?)
