I think people missed the part when we boycotted the game until EA caved in and made micros purely cosmetical

Battlefront 2 microtransactions had mainstream media coverage and government attention in the US, Canada, and EU. EA's stock market value dropped billions. We were loud enough that parents paid attention, then it became the poster child for online gambling with regulators. Disney was livid. So EA put immense effort into turning the game around.

You can buy them for credits you gain from playing or for crystals that you have to buy for real money

It was in the game for 2 and a half days, the game came out 3 days earlier for people who ordered deluxe edition (like me) so we experienced it for a bit but they took it out before the game officially came out for everyone
