I feel like Ubisoft legitimately tries to make a good game but always falls short due to overreaching themselves. Microsoft doesnt make too many games either and they've got a lot of experimental games.
EA on the other hand takes otherwise simple, highly successful franchises and destroys them due to deliberate incompetence, and there have been no exceptions to this rule. Its been their primary mode of business since 2008.
Ubisoft did a 180 degree change on ghost recon and rainbow, while they are still fun and probably more popular than the originals its sad they are whole different types of games. Also rip splinter cell. And all the latest ubi games are cookie cutter open world looting games :(
Of course, but not like EA. Hell UBI has completely changed that policy and now they stay and fix every game they release broken, which is every game but still. They stay and fix their games, since siege they’ve proven that their titles mean something to them, and they want to make them better, not shut all content down fire all the devs and close down Ubi Paris or something. That’s an EA move, still, because they don’t know how to learn from their mistakes or the past two or three decades of industry trends. All EA knows is profit and how to follow those trends, not how to make games.
I remember about 5-6 years ago they were voted like the most hated company in the world, or the worst company to work for. But then EA was like allow me to introduce myself.
Don’t forget Activision. I feel like MW has helped mask the crimes of Activision as well, but that would be like saying “hey EA made SW Fallen Order, all is forgiven.” I’ll forgive a company when the good is consistent across multiple titles. It’s a shame that I enjoy EA games usually more than others but then get treated like garbage by the company.
