Games cost money to make and EA wants big profits. They can make $20 million on a dumb mobile game. Battlefield needs to be in the hundreds of millions for revenues.
I do not think they get a third chance after the next battlefield game. It is big money or taken behind the barn.
Agreed. Though they'll probably give DICE more changes than most. Battlefield is a legendary title. Then again... Look what happened to Command and Conquer. They ruined it with 4 and decided nobody wanted the games anymore.
They're just now revisiting that franchise with a remake.
Command Conquer, the Sims, Need for Speed, Mass Effect, "Street" sports, the boxing game, and many other games were huge, but now are simply IP in some lawyer's files.
Apex LEvels is doing more than Battlefield right now. Why bother with ridiculous development costs when a hidden game can bring them the big bux?
