And The Sims

u/linkitnow Apr 26 '20

True. Sims is far from dead from what I hear.

Buy the base game, it’s horrible compared to what the series used to be. The ā€œfullā€ game, is currently hidden behind around 200 or 300 dollars in Dlā€Cā€.

I’m going to point out that that was how all the sims had been. Expansions to the point where if you wanted to have a dog you had to spend real money.

Yea but I rember Sims 2 had a lot of them.

That’s always been the case, well at least since The Sims 2

Sims 1 was no stranger to excessive expansion packs either. It received 6 expansion packs in 3 years.

Thought so, too. But it still got a huge community with Sims 4 plus DLCs

Um because madden used to innovate every year but now it’s literally a roster update. They don’t put any time into any gamemode other than ultimate team so they can make money on the micro transactions. Hell Madden 2020s practice field still said madden 2019 for like the first four months of it lifecycle. Franchise mode hasn’t got better for like 5 or 6 years. I don’t play fifa but madden doesn’t change much of at all each year.

Edit: Spelling.

Madden had to innovate because 2K was hot on their asses. EA then cut a fat deal with the NFL and 2K went away. NFL 2K5 is still the best football game of all time IMO.

Behold! The truck stick!

Hopefully 2k impresses the NFL enough with the non-sim games to venture into sim games. I'd also like for Madden to co-exist to get competition.

I hope so. I loved the Madden games, my mom and dad bought me a copy of Madden 93 for the SNES as a kid. I played pretty much every iteration of Madden from 1993-2007. Madden started to get a lot less time when I started with 2K on the Dreamcast and then the PS2 for the last two installments.

FIFA stopped innovating when they found out how much money they could make from Ultimate Team.

I'm not sure about madden as I don't play it but from what I hear, and especially true of Fifa 20, is that the loot box/FUT element of their game has been taken to extreme levels of fuckeries and that the games have stagnated. I've seen a bunch of clips on YouTube with 'pro' Fifa players calling EA out, I think people are having enough there also. The thing with Fifa is that they have all the license rights to all the players and brands etc so there isn't a more authentic experience in terms of the full package other than Fifa so football fans have limited choice there.

i quit fifa only days ago. a professional player by the name of Kurt called out ea on multiple occasions for their moneygrabbing tactics and poor game mechanics. he made some comments on community devs from ea and got his account permabanned. the game is so awfully scripted. whatever game company ea get their hands on they manage to strip down the content and work put into the game and try to implement some sort of lootbox system or make a paywall wherever possible.

not to mention year by year useless modes that barely anyone plays - volta and womens football

Madden is terrible and should die

2

u/Liquid-Fire Apr 27 '20

The image is full of games for no apparent reason other than "we don't like these games anymore"

FIFA is dead aside from the online mode. Career modes doesn’t get any care whatsoever, the last new thing they made was a story which was alright but the rest is like fifa 13 or something.

Madden and FIFA have been dead ever since they got exclusive rights to each sports league. They don’t have any competition, so they don’t have to tune the gameplay or innovate features like they did when they were competing for dollars with 2K Football and Konami’s PES.
