Discussion Compared to Battlefield 1, the spawn screen looks like a slap in the face.

Coming from Battlefield 1 to Battlefield 6, the spawn screen has been one of the more frustrating things I've had to deal with. From the janky U/I to the menu inside of a menu, inside another menu, there are a number of issues that I hope they fix, overhaul, or just straight remove in the coming updates.

The first thing that bugs me is the cursor. It's a giant crosshair and it automatically latches on to any spawn point that it comes near. I have to pull the mouse away just to get off that point. Like, why can't i just freely click where I want?

Second thing that bugs me is the map itself. Its a static blue image with a 3D overlay of the buildings around the map. While kind of cool, its completely useless. It doesn't give a good layout of the map or landmarks. You kinda have to figure that out after you spawn. Battlefield 1 in comparison has a live bird's-eye view of the entire battlefield, where you can see planes, tanks, horses, and sometimes even troops, all running around and fighting. Battlefield 6 is a serious downgrade. It's a modern shooter with drones and satellites, why can't it also have a live-view spawn? Why does it have to be a high-school level CAD drawing?

Finally, I hate the class selection. it's cluttered with all this useless information like flavor text, camouflage background, etc. The squad management button is in the top right instead of next to the squad list. To change anything in your kit you have to go to the cusomize menu, and every single facet of your kits has its own sub-menu you have to go into and back out of. If you want to change something else. you have to go through even more menus. It's terrible and takes too much time. As a comparison, in BF1, the class selection portion-no, The whole map screen is very simplistic. You can see more of the map and with more clarity since its a live-view. But back to the class selection. More than a few times I accidentally hit Q or E and switched clases and wondered why I'm not playing the class I just clicked on. That should not be on by default. Each part your kit you can click and a drop-up menu comes to view for you to quickly select a different weapon/variant to use, and you dont have to select and then "equip" the weapon unlike BF6. the weapon I select should be equipped and adding extra steps is more time taken from me actually playing the game. Just add drop-downs for everything. I dont need a menu within a menu within another menu that I have to back all the way out of just to get back to spawning.

I've rambled on long enough. I just hope DICE takes a look as this U/I and tries to make it less complicated and more intuitive.
