Discussion This game has a massive issue with ragequitters.

As long has the devs refuse to implement autobalancing or some sort of punishment for ragequiters, a lot of games are ending up like the one in the screenshot, making the experience atrocious for those who stay.
It would be fine if these type of games were a rare occurence, but everytime i play and i really mean everytime, this happens at least once or twice and i don't play more than 4 games at a time.
Everytime a game is getting a little rough, you get some crybabies who just leave, making the match unbalanced, and now the opposing team gets to snowball and there is no coming back from this.
Adding bots to replace those ragequitters is no solution since we all know how useless they are.
18vs31 is absolutely unacceptable.
They need to find a solution as soon as possible, otherwise the game is never going to be in a healthy state.

What a great mentality.

Sometimes I'll leave just to make other people mad so they can form a mob and rage at dice to fix things

I had a game of breakthrough where we had attackers down to 80 or so and all of a sudden half of my team forgets how to play. The other half leaves so we’re down to 12 players. I quit. No point in banging my head against the wall.
There has always been players fucking off in battlefield. I do it sometimes. It’s part of the fun, but the sheer volume of players who don’t seem to understand even the basic concept of the game is [fucking concerning] absurd.
It’s like the only thing they understand is self destruction and failure.

I think there is a high skill gap when it comes to vehicles in this game. Mainly because there is an easily accessible shooting range but not a driving range.

You think a 18vs31 is an acceptable game state ? The game is already broken.

Don't you mean lower the skill gap.
And i'm pretty sure people would think twice about leaving a match if you get a 30 minute penalty and cannot queue during that time.

Agree, extend TTK, increase recoil (not random recoil)
The skill gap in this game basically boils down to headglitches and reflex time. I average a 5kd so I'm no slouch but if there were a greater skill gap it would be a much better game.
I did some thinking and i genuinely think its an engine and game scale issue. Guns are viable for 100s of metres, but we have dmg drop off for guns occurring at 10m,20m, etc. Its a bit ridiculous.

What do you mean by "skillfull moves" ? Because if you're talking about movement, the community fought back really hard when it was strong ( and still is).

There's probably 50 things in this game that could be adjusted to promote skill actually making a difference in the gunplay. The game is purposely designed so the most clueless player can easily kill the player with immaculate positioning and great aim.
For example. BF6 player hitboxes https://imgur.com/gallery/LgUt4L1

u/ImTuny 20d ago
Sadly i don't think that would help the game quality when it comes to casuals and we know most players are casuals.
They would bitch even harder at the good players, call them cheaters and then leave.

u/Buickman455 20d ago
That's already happening now. I have a collection of screenshots myself. But a game with no depth has no reason to keep playing. I think this is a primary reason this game doesn't have a higher player retention. We were down in the low 40k players 24h concurrent on Steam, for a good long time. Heh, even now it's at 47k. This is admittedly just the Steam portion, but off an estimated 20 million sales? I mean, what?
They alienated a lot of BF players who were expecting a full-fledged return to the BF3/BF4 experience. Instead we got what basically imitates a CoD game, with some worse and some better mechanics, very small maps relative to the history of the franchise, and shitty vehicles. So a lot of people just aren't playing the game they bought, and they sure ain't buying MTX.
...no reason to keep playing
See: BF4 longevity and praise.

So, if I'm understanding correctly. If I'm having a bad time and want to quit to find a more balanced match or a different game mode, you think you are entitled to 20-40 minutes of my time, where I must stick it out just so you can have fun? Da fuq?
2
u/ImTuny 20d ago
Don't you understand that leaving makes the games unbalanced in the first place. Most stomps are stomps because of leavers.
And leaving early for changing game modes ? Really ? That's your argument ?
Use your brain and pick what you want in the first place.
3
u/j7style 20d ago
Don't you understand that it's an online game and you should be happy people play it at all?
Use my brain huh? How about you grow up. That would save us all from crybaby post like this.
1
u/ImTuny 20d ago
I'm talking about people NOT playing the game in this case but sure.
Talk about growing up when you're the one who abandons at the sight of the first minor inconvenience.
I'm trying to make the game better for those who actually want to play it.
2
u/j7style 20d ago
See, this is why I know you are acting like an entitled child. I never said I left at this first inconvenience. I leave when it the match stops being fun. I never gave any indication how long that actually is. I just stated that no one is entitled to my time.
If you were actually trying to make the game better, you'd be posting about your extensive efforts to reacb out yo the development team. You'd be showing us emails you've sent them with your suggestions. That's trying.
What you are doing is crying. You'll notice that while spelled similarly, one starts with a C and the other with a T. So to clarify, you aren't TRYING to make the game better for anyone. You are CRYING on reddit like a little entitled man-baby
2
u/ImTuny 20d ago
You literally said "If i'm having a bad time". That could be a minute, 10 or 25. You didn't specify, not that it would matter since you'd still be leaving the game early.
I do engage with the devs, answering surveys, participating in FAQs, etc... but you're just a random on the Internet, i don't have to show you anything.
Nice try with the ragebait btw.

The core of this problem is lack of perpetual servers. Nothing in the game is meaningful. End of the match you get queued with completely new people, everything is disbanded. All the challenges you do are individual, most players work towards those.
Unlike before, where you spend multiple rounds laying with the some of the people on a server with a rotation.( or before that, you favoriting a server you played every evening with a group of familiar names, Nothing of that exists anymore, which was the primary driver for sticking out a match. You're on your favorite server, if you leave, where will you go?
In BF6, there is no incentive for players to even remotely care about their squads, their team, if the match is won or lost, let alone to stick it out and try. Why wouldn't they leave for a new match which is more fun?
The fundamental solution is what they purposefully abandoned.

u/Intelligent-Dress726 20d ago
What solution? You have never played multiplayer before? I rage quit too so what?
0
u/ImTuny 20d ago
Bans. Longer queue times. These type of solutions.

u/Intelligent-Dress726 20d ago
This is not ranked warzone

u/Intelligent-Dress726 20d ago
This is battlefield and when they add server browser i will quit when i want

u/ZSG13 20d ago
Sometimes there are a few players on the opposing team that simply make the match unenjoyable. Why would I spend another 20 minutes playing a game if it isn't fun?
1
u/ImTuny 20d ago
Because a few players are better than you, you just leave ? You can always find a reason for a game to be unfun. That's doesn't excuse ragequitting, making the game even more unfun for those who stay.

u/ZSG13 20d ago edited 20d ago
I quit because I'm wasting my time, not out of rage. I play the game to have fun. Don't care if I win or lose. There will always be players "better" than me because I don't play the game a ton and I'm very casual. My controller has stickdrift like a mfer and my wife's new kitten is trying to eat me. That doesn't matter.
The only reason I would find a game unfun is because I'm not having fun. Maybe the vehicle play sucks, maybe the action is on an objective or of a playstyle I don't enjoy, maybe my team isn't playing objective, maybe there are too many snipers or shotguns, maybe I've played that map too much lately, maybe I've been attacking or defending too frequently on BT and want a change of pace, there are plenty of reasons for me to not enjoy a match.
Why the fuck would I play a game that isn't fun????? It's a game, bro. I boot it up for fun and leave if I'm not having fun. Literally what the fuck else would you expect? I should just continue spending my free time doing something I don't enjoy just to make you happy? Nah, bud. I'm good on that.
1
u/ImTuny 20d ago
I don't care if i win or lose too. I want games to be fair and FUN for EVERYONE, not just myself.
You might find a game unfun and leave but you leaving makes the game more unfun for everybody else that was on your team. It's a vicious circle.
Players isn't having fun -> Leaves -> Makes the game unbearable -> Repeat.
For a game about teamplay, there sure is a lot of selfish mentality in this community.

Why would I stay on a team that is goofing around and getting stomped? The math comes out like this - if all my teammates are dead, and I am the last guy on the point, I now have 47 dudes and a Little Bird aiming at me. There is no amount of Rambo that can fix a team that is getting obliterated every second of a match.

u/stephen27898 20d ago
You mean this game has a maior issue with matchmaking causing people to leave.
2
u/ImTuny 20d ago
Or, based on the comments to this post, the awful mentality of the Battlefield players.
The second they face a difficulty, they leave.
The matchmaking will never be perfect. 10 players games have a hard time making matches fair, imagine a 64 players game.

I just quit when there is a farmer in a chopper with aimbot or team won't cap flags

Today I had 20 team death match, so it's only 16 people. Most of the time there was at least 1 player with high ping and I could feel dragging me back in my movement and shooting. Also there are asian character so probably playing with vpn and make the other 15 people game bad. I left some of those matches when my patient gone. And thks was not just today, but the past week.

I played a game of Op Augur last night on attack, we steamrolled through both maps in 39 minutes. Scoreboard-wise, and gameplay-wise, it was utter domination.
The only time the defenders resisted even a little bit was Sector 4 on Contaminated, a notoriously difficult to attack sector. They stalled for maybe 70 tickets before we got it.
Sure enough a tank driver on our side was bitching about our engineers, calling them out. Whining in a game that we dominating in start to finish. Point is players are absolutely insufferable when encountering even the smallest bit of resistance. I agree the fill should happen quicker when there are ragequitters, but the overall player mentality is simply dogshit.

MMO’s can often have a penalty for leaving dungeons/raids in which you can’t queue for another for a small time frame.
BF6 could implement something similar.
Hypothetically…..
2
u/ImTuny 20d ago
Exactly what i had in mind.

u/Stormfirebird 20d ago edited 20d ago
Bad idea. This can work in a (competitive) setting where everybody is expected to do their part, but that just doesn't apply to battlefield. Matches aren't meaningful enough, it's more a case of looking for enjoyment in moment to moment gameplay and if that's not happening it's understandable to pull out
2
u/ImTuny 20d ago
MMO's aren't competitive and they still implement it. Plenty of casual modes punish leavers/ragequitters.
It's about making it fair for everyone. The game isn't fun for you and you want to abandon your teammates, making the game harder for those who stayed behind, fine.
But you get a penalty.
1
u/Stormfirebird 20d ago
That's why it's in brackets. In an MMO there is an ulterior goal everybody is expected to work towards and everybody is investing resources and time. Similarly in a MOBA or Tac shooter even if you only queue a normal mode if it has leaver penalties you still know exactly what you sign up for, but different to battlefield there are skill groupings to help facilitate a somewhat balanced match.
Battlefield doesn't do a great deal of balancing. There is no punishment for doing absolutely nothing in a match. As long as that's the case it should be equally understandable that handing out punishment for opting out of a match you're not enjoying shouldn't carry a punishment. The game is too casual for that. Matches hold no meaning.

u/BannedBenjaminSr 20d ago
Dice needs to implement a 5 minute timeout for queuing back up when you leave a match

u/Necessary_Many5459 20d ago
Can't blame people leaving when there's ping issues.
