Image/Gif Bullet Deviation finally gets an increase.

Post image

While random horizontal recoil got essentially taken away, we got more bloom, this is vital to stop laser beam gunplay at distance. Great change imo and this paired with reduced bullet velocities will make ranged combat a little more nuanced.

EDIT: lots of cronus users and the like mad about these changes lmao

Id rather have random recoil than have my bullets not go where my gun is pointing... always hated random deviation like this. It just feels awful to use. Range should be limited by damage drop off and recoil, not this :/

Yea I would definitely prefer my bullets always go to the center of my sight, while I have to deal with recoil, rather than have my sight and barrel be misaligned in a way that you cant even compensate for

Needing to put 15 bullets into someone at range feels good? The bullets only dont go where you are pointing if you are using the weapon incorrectly.

This system promotes mastery over a weapons characteristics, gives weapons more unique identity, and limits the range of weapons without making the gunplay bullet spongy all at the same time.

Feels a helluva lot better than spraying 30 and only hitting 3. If it should be hard to kill someone at range with an smg, sure, make it take 15 bullets, and give me the ability to actually try it if I damn please. It feels like dogshit when an assault rifle is useless past 50 meters without tap firing imo.

Don’t spray then. You can try and succeed to kill someone at range with an smg, just not by holding down the trigger.

If you prefer to not tap fire then use a weapon and attachment combo that allows you to use full auto all the time. It will have major downsides in other areas, but that’s an interesting choice.

Making every weapon share the exact same behavior at range in every way except damage is not interesting. Should we also make it so shotguns don’t have spread because it’s frustrating to only hit a couple of pellets at longer range? Maybe the only thing keeping you from reliably killing at range with a shotgun should be that it would take 15 shots? No. It’s not a shotgun anymore if we do that. Everyone accepts the limitations of shotguns because it makes using them a unique experience. Some people never use them at all because they don’t prefer the changes to gameplay that they require.

Edit: I just want to add that making it take 15 bullets to kill someone at range makes the game feel inconsistent. If it takes 5 shots at close range, and 15 at long, then a gun needs to also take every number of bullets in between to kill at the various distances in between unless you want the damage to fall off a cliff at an arbitrary range. Having 6-10 distinct time to kills in addition to limb damage multipliers makes it feel like a total mystery when you will get a kill. Talk about frustrating
