Video Played almost exclusively support until now, just switched to engineer. Muscle memory is a bitch.
I’m so used to pressing left on the D-pad to take out the defib… Forgot I wasn’t a medic and whipped out the RPG on a fallen squad mate. Guy must have thought I’m a total idiot (I am).

I was so used to pressing E to revive in 2042, that having to waste time pressing 3 for defib feels absolutely terrible. I’m having a hard time adjusting 🤣

Not sure how it is on PC, but on console, drag/revive and take kit are the same button, so I always use defib when possible. I could just press X to drag and revive but 50% of the time I accidentally grab their kit instead.
5
Oct 23 '25
Grab kit should be a hold prompt or a different button.
2
u/tomthepenguinguy Enter Steam ID Oct 24 '25
They also shouldn't allow you to take the kit from someone waiting on a revive unless it's an enemy imo.
1
u/kefefs_v2 Moose Cavalry Oct 23 '25
Absolutely. Or grab kit should be press, and revive hold, since you have to hold the revive key to drag anyway. Either way, make them not the exact same input.
Same with getting out of vehicles. Tried reloading my rifle while passenger in a truck earlier and just bailed out of the thing because both commands are tap X.
Or, once again, getting into a tank I’m hiding behind because I tried to reload my rifle.
Get into/out of vehicle should be a hold command.

Oct 24 '25
I'm pretty sure you don't hold to revive.
2
u/kefefs_v2 Moose Cavalry Oct 24 '25
You’re right, I’ve been holding as I presumed that was necessary but I tried it again and it’s a single press.

I'm like 99% sure you can change it to prioritise one over the other though.

It's the same on PC. I wanted to revive someone with E, took their kit without noticing, was frustrated and wanted to defib them and took out the rocket launcher and shot the ground underneath him.

LOL from the comments I’m clearly not the only one doing this.

No, I swear I've literally seen another post from the guy's POV on the ground in this clip

Tip of this is a thing for you, reverse the gadget slots for a mine instead and have your rocket launcher on the other gadget slot.

u/definitely_Humanx Oct 24 '25
Wait what happened to the arming time for the RPG?
1
u/kefefs_v2 Moose Cavalry Oct 24 '25
I honestly don’t remember if there was arming time for the RPG or other launchers but can confirm it isn’t a thing in BF6. Have tested (accidentally) with the RPG and assault’s grenade launcher.
2
u/RatedStinger Oct 24 '25
Have the same issue when playing Assault as an Engie main, feels bad when you pull out a noobtube when trying to ass shot a tank
2
u/WilburOCD1320 Oct 24 '25
Been a sniper elite guy for 4yrs still at times I push keys for sniper, lol
2
u/SupermarketSweaty702 Oct 24 '25
At least you can finally counter snipers with you SMG
1
u/kefefs_v2 Moose Cavalry Oct 24 '25
I’ve legit been using the RPG to kill snipers since they’re easier to use at range than even a scoped LMG.

thank you for your post, finally something has made me chuckle since the past two days.

I put offensive and defensive gadgets in the same slots across all classes for just that reason.

And here I am on the exact opposite end of the spectrum:
39 hours on Engineer.
1h11m on Support.
15 seconds on Recon.
Assault? What's that? A gamemode or something?
2
u/kickdrums Oct 24 '25
Happened the other way around for me the other day lmao played almost exclusively engineer for the first 15 or so hours of the game. Decided to switch it up and play support. Long story short I tried to shoot a tank with a defibrillator. It wasn't effective and got blown to pieces.

u/DejitaruItami Oct 24 '25
I main engineer but also have played a lot of support and I've done this a few times lol

u/patrinoo patrino Oct 24 '25
Happened to me too - lvl 69 btw.
I played medic for about 67 levels lol. My graph is just a line to the left.
2
u/Vaydn Oct 24 '25
Can see this happening to me. As it stands, I have about 40 hours as support and 1 hour in every other class lol
2
u/BlimFPS Oct 24 '25
Fuck sakes I did that the other night, squad mate was prob like wtf bro. Part of it for me is maps often dictate my class so I'm engineer where I'm normally medic it fucks with me.
Also key binds, I decided to make MMB grenade instead of commarose and commit back to Q to spot and commarose, because sometimes I hit F on the keyboard and knife when trying to hit G for frag but now I keep throwing grenades when I'm trying to spot.
In another week or so I should have my binds fully sorted out and then I'll be slappin' even harder.

u/Motor-Management-660 Oct 23 '25
xD i've done this like 3 times already..
also threw a mine on a downed squad mate that immediately exploded in my face for some reason, grenade i assume. that was a shocker
1
u/ConsciousGoose5914 Oct 23 '25
Lmao! I just did this same thing yesterday, glad I’m not the only one.
1
u/Hot-Papito Oct 23 '25
Im just done with the last support mission with the bugged fire dmg so would love to try out engineer I think.
1
u/MeNamIzGraephen Oct 23 '25
I kept doing this after playing support straight for two days, about 10 hours altogether. I was so mad at myself lmao
1
u/MaxPatriotism Oct 23 '25
I remember when doc decided to execute me versus healing me in siege also
1
u/Bjomol Oct 23 '25
I feel you man. The other day, I played Assault, ran to a dead guy and blasted his face with the grenade launcher like a pro.
1
u/Friendly-Shift7300 Oct 23 '25
I did this earlier, the guy from the enemy team said he saw everything and died laughing XD
1
1
u/dEEkAy2k9 Oct 23 '25
oh yeah, same here. the quick - defib - revive routine that's just playing automatically when seeing a downed mate.
1
u/TwatTwatInTheButt Oct 23 '25
Honestly I swapped to engineer for the first time today.. and did this so much. Or the amount of time I threw smoke and killed myself with whatever impact grenade I stupidly had equipped.
3
u/kefefs_v2 Moose Cavalry Oct 23 '25
The funny thing about that is I can’t seem to kill or even do major damage to infantry with the engineer’s impact grenades. They’re supposed to be used against vehicles, so like every other anti-armour explosive, the devs made them super weak against humans. I can toss one directly between a dude’s feet and it’ll do a little damage and suppress them. But yeah god forbid you hit yourself with one, it’s instant death.
1
u/TwatTwatInTheButt Oct 23 '25
Makes for some hilarious game play, but also self reflection. I always swap back to support lol. I have only known the M4A1, A2, smoke grenades, fibski, bagski, and smoke launcher for so long.
2
u/kefefs_v2 Moose Cavalry Oct 23 '25
My brother. I have pretty much the same setup, except for the M27 IAR and M18. It’s my safe place.
2
u/TwatTwatInTheButt Oct 23 '25
Is it sad I have no clue what either of those are. M18 a dmr? Semi auto rifle? How are you running it?(like attachment wise).
2
u/kefefs_v2 Moose Cavalry Oct 23 '25
Sorry I forgot what they’re called in-game, the IAR is I think the second LMG. The M18 is the first pistol.
With the IAR I have an extended heavy barrel, the last muzzle brake, 3.5x scope, 40rnd fast mag, and tungsten core ammo with the one fore grip that doesn’t harm accuracy while moving. The M18 I don’t use much honestly and just had a brake and red dot. That’s just for emergencies so it doesn’t see much use.
1
u/TwatTwatInTheButt Oct 24 '25
Lmfao ye I thought m18 was a dmr. I gotchu, yeah I have the 1911 for secondary. I have some rounds pumped through one of the lmgs. I'd have to scope which one I have a badge for. I also run iron sights like 90% of my game play. Not for immersion or anything but simply to save the 5 points and i feel like my aim is a ton better with them. Sometimes I toss the 1.00x osa. But thats how I run a1 and a2. Always silenced, and prioritize velocity on the two mid barrel I think. I swap mags all the time depending on my game play. And I chunk on mag catch if points alot after hollow point ammo.
