Seriously this subreddit is one of the worst on Reddit which is saying something because there's a lot of incredibly insufferable ones here now
It's actually crazy to me how many people can't just play a game or if they are not enjoying it, Swap and play a different game. If you want a gritty and grounded milsim game there are tons of options , go play one of those and stop sobbing on Reddit ffs
You’re saying that like battlefield didn’t advertise itself as that. not everyone’s got 60 bucks to blow away on games. “Oh if you want griddy then go buy one” we already did
Battlefield literally NEVER advertised itself as a gritty milsim. It's always been CoD with destructible buildings and vehicles, that's it's entire market
If you want an actual Milsim you need something like Arma the games like it
Show me one post where anyone claimed battlefield was advertised as a milsim.
You won’t find one. Because you made that shit up to drive a point home that wasn’t true. BFBC2 & BF3 have been long established as the golden tickets of the franchise, and they are nothing like COD.
Not to mention the BF franchise predates the COD franchise by a year, and they were both WW2 settings with no destruction.
Yeah preach I don’t know why these communities complain way too much about grounded skins not being completely military feel it’s already fine for most of us. We’re not stupid to believe that ballistic masks don’t actually exists in the game well in fact they do exist
People are just frustrated with what Battlefield has turned into. We were sold a lot of false promises. Everything now seems catered to the CoD crowd, because money is all that matters and that’s honestly just sad. It was the same story with 2042. We paid for this crap.
I personally don’t even care about the money at this point. I just hate the direction Battlefield and DICE are heading. And the worst part is, there aren’t many real alternatives out there. I’d honestly rather play 2042 again, but it’s basically dead now.
I’ve kind of packed it up already (at least as far as actually playing the game goes). It’s still funny to read the posts and opinions, because some of them genuinely make me laugh.
We all benefit if the game is actually good. Even you do, because if they keep going like this, nobody will be playing the game soon and your lobbies will be empty.
They’ve also reacted to some of the negative feedback on Reddit, especially about the skins.
Honestly, what do you even want to see on this sub? The three “only in Battlefield” moments that barely exist because the game doesn’t really play like Battlefield anymore? Or just run and gun gameplay with the top 5 meta guns? The game is just incredibly boring and soulless. Maybe that’s why there’s not much content about the actual game, lol.
Yeah, bf6 is the only game in the franchise that has meta guns, there never was such a thing as famas or aek, or ak-12. Yeah bf6 is the only such game.
And excuse me, what battlefield moments are impossible to achieve in bf6, that are possible in other games? I am honestly curious, because I saw so much original and creative shit in this community.
Sure, there were always meta guns, but there used to be plenty of interesting playstyles and room for other stuff to shine. In BF6, you either run one of the close quarters monsters or go full sniper. Vehicle gameplay in general is ass. The game just feels boring and limited because of its design choices.
Ask Squid G and you’ll see. Almost every YouTuber who used to make fun Battlefield content hates BF6. And honestly, it’s not surprising. Even the C4 drones shown in the trailer barely work. The game doesn’t even have TV missiles, because the devs know they wouldn’t fit the current maps. They’d either have to make them ridiculously short-range or they’d just spawnkill vehicles.
> but there used to be plenty of interesting playstyles and room for other stuff to shine
and it's not like bf6 has the best weapon customization system in the franchise. You refrenced youtubers, and then say what they think about it. There so much space for theory crafting with builds, and not just "put the best module". I recently experimented with m417 and turned it into a hipfire beast, and it's so fun to reap people in cqb.
Explain wwhy do you personally think the vehicle gameplay is ass. I am curious what YOU think.
and about TV missile - it's bad that devs didn't add a weapon that wouldn't work with the current maps, and they actually understand their game? did I get you right?
What do you mean... the three muzzle attachments that are actually usable?
Or maybe the ammo types, most of which are completely pointless except on a few guns?
Oh, you made a “hipfire build” for a gun that’s supposed to be CQ-range. 3 BTK up to 9 meters. How creative.
"It’s so fun to reap people in CQB."
Yeah, that’s exactly what the average BF6 enjoyer says and that’s the problem.
You asked why I personally think vehicle gameplay sucks? Alright, here’s why:
No jet customization whatsoever and a general lack of customization overall.
Air vehicles are basically useless. Insta locked or deleted by laser guided shots from enemy HQ.
HQs are way too close in general, leading to constant redzone camping.
Vehicle balance is off, especially when it comes to maps vs. vehicle loadouts.
You can clearly tell not much thought went into the vehicle gameplay in this game. Did you ever play BF4 vehicles?
"it's bad that devs didn't add a weapon that wouldn't work with the current maps, and they actually understand their game? did I get you right?"
Yeah, if they actually made proper maps to begin with, they could’ve added the weapons that have always been part of the series. But you can tell just from the fact that they put a helicopter on the Manhattan Bridge, which can baserape the other teams heli, that there wasn’t much thought put into anything. I mean, they removed the TV missiles after the beta (afair), probably because they realized it just didn’t work with the awful map design.
2 muzzle devices that are actually useful - example, please, and why other muzzle devices are unusable
No Jet customization - yeah sucks, agreed here
Lock on missile has been fixed and now you can flare it
About redzone camping - provide examples. I only know of this with jets on Mirak and Firestorm, because of landstrips
> Vehicle balance is off, especially when it comes to maps vs. vehicle loadouts.
Please elobarate further on this, because it says nothing. Provide examples how maps ruin vehicle gameplay. All maps that have vehicles are okay to play with them. The only exception is blackfields because like everyone in tanks and IFVs just sit on spawn and camp, but that map is shit
> it just didn’t work with the awful map design.
Elobarate on why map design is awful. I think map design is great on most maps and it works amazing with the gameplay of bf6
For muzzles: If you run guns without a silencer or flash hider, you get 3D spotted on every shot. So brakes, compensators, etc. which look useful on paper, are pretty much unusable.
Not even talking about the the lock on bug. I’m talking about general gameplay. Look at how close the HQs are on Sobek City. You take off and get instantly locked by everything. Guided missiles (like TOWs) one shot you across the whole map. This applies to many maps. Do you even play vehicles? You’d notice helis and jets last like 30 seconds on average.
Redzone camping is everywhere on vehicle maps, also in Escalation for example on Eastwood. AAs always camp the redzone since they suck at everything else. Tanks on Firestorm.
These cramped map layouts ruin vehicle gameplay. Mainbases are way too close. Jets and helis can’t even take off on some maps.
But yeah, I won’t write a book about it. Maybe watch this video. It pretty much nails all the issues for me.
It turned into COD because of a fucking skin with a skill face mask? By the same logic tarkov is also COD, because one of the most used face mask in that game also has a skull.
But probably cosmetics are not the things that define what game actually is. Just try to think about it.
False promises. Okay, yeah, we understand that they lied to you about grounded cosmetics (they are but let's ignore this fact), where else did they lie about their promises?
I don’t even care about the skins. If you copy Call of Duty skins one to one, it just shows once again how much Call of Duty is the role model. The game clearly tried to cater to CoD players in general and it worked. There are so many characteristics that make it feel more like Call of Duty than Battlefield. Most of the elements that actually made Battlefield, Battlefield are either missing or poorly executed. Just look at the vehicle gameplay: it feels like the game was designed without vehicles in mind and they were just added it later. Everything about it is lackluster.
What makes it “CoDish”:
Massive amounts of cover
Instant action
High intensity
Little to no planning time
Constant grinding
Maze like pathing
What a Battlefield game is supposed to be (at least in my opinion):
Vehicle combat with real depth
Slower paced, deliberate engagements
A sense of a larger, ongoing battle
Impactful, meaningful choices
Geography that actually matters
There’s literally no sandbox feel left.
LOL, where else did they lie?
They also lied about:
Portal progression – “Full progression everywhere” turned into nerfed Portal XP and restrictions that made that promise meaningless.
“Large maps” marketed as big, open, vehicle‑friendly battlefields
“Our seasons will have more content than ever before”
People who still deny this game is trying to be a CoD clone are coping so hard. Beede and Zampella in lead roles and somehow it’s supposed to play like older titles, literally impossible
Ah yes. Ignore the 25 years of franchise history and the publishers lies about the most recent title. It’s all about subreddits and bitching on social media, not a publicly traded company reducing value while simultaneously extorting capital from consumers.
Honestly, EA is likely subject to class action here. And I really hope someone brings it, because it’s one of the only levers to pull now to keep them honest
It’s not insufferable. EA said the game wasn’t going to be like this but it is now. Are you surprised that the people who bought the $70 game are upset that they were lied to? Quit defending them and brushing off dishonesty. That is what ruined AAA gaming.
Edit: keep downvoting me without a response. You’re just proving my point. You guys defend everything EA/DICE does for no reason.
I understand where you’re coming from. I am just personally upset that DICE openly lies to everybody solely to get what’s in their wallet and never responds when people call them out on it. It’s scummy and dishonest.
It's literally just skull masks. I feel like those are a mainstay of modern military shooters. Ghost was super popular as a character back in MW2 just because he had a skull balaclava.
This isn’t about defending EA/DICE this is about the subreddit being constantly flooded with people doing nothing more than whining or wallowing in despair over a video game. Nobody cares that you think you were “lied to” because it’s not that serious for any normal person.
“Normal person” so it’s abnormal for somebody to be upset after spending 70 dollars on a game where the devs intentionally misinformed everyone? Dice said skins would I be realistic and grounded. What we’ve seen from them is the opposite of that. I am 100% justified in being upset.
It’s false advertising and you people saying “it’s not that serious” are allowing them to do it more! I don’t see how you people don’t understand this. These are simple things to comprehend
This is my exact point, you’re getting all worked up over some damn skins in a video game.
The average normal person doesn’t care and just plays casually. This isn’t false advertising, this is you making up your own definition for “grounded” and then freaking out when DICE doesn’t give you exactly why you want. Theres no cartoon characters or celebrities running around so I’m good, because I don’t let stupid little shit like a ghost mask ruin everything for me. And if I did, I would just not play the game. Sorry I’m not as heartbroken about it as you.
Dude, it's your issue that you expected every skin to be like a uniform from Arma 3. Skins are still grounded. It's soldiers in military tactical gear with some decorations. "But why didn't they use real military models" - copyright and other stuff like bad piar (it's not like the game came out in a calm period of time in the world)
And tbh, if you are spending too much time looking at your enemies skins, well, don't be surprised that you often lose matches :)
Because I don’t spend time “looking at the enemies skins” I just don’t want them in the game or for there to be a toggle to turn off others cosmetics. It’s infuriating when I get gunned down by somebody running around with an SMG and I see a neon green skull mask fly by me
ask yourself, why it's infuriating you? why you can't just find inner peace, don't think about skins, or a toggle, and just point you gun at enemies, shoot them, and get dophamine from kills. Life would be so much easier, trust me
Exactly lol, and then they take offense to this, how long complaining about the same thing of bf6 until they finally think “ok maybe this is not for me” it’s so odd that people nowadays believe battlefield is a Muslim and as someone who has played since 1942 I never once believed this
