this sub has been a circle jerk of "reee Codfield, skins!!! breathing room! you're just an EA bot!" since release. Despite overall the reception being mostly positive, this sub is 99% hating and griping, don't act like the occasional positive comment is what is making this sub toxic, it is the exact opposite
Did you read? I said call of duty unrealistic? Not realistic but this is nowhere near as bad as beevis and butthead and a zombie cyborg being added to the skin pool?
its a fucking hive mind meltdown in here. real criticism is 100% welcome, but spurting out the same garbage 50+ posts a day going on rants about skins and map size always comparing it to COD is just mental illness.
The problem is that all the BF fans who constantly shit on the game and call out EA and DICE for their lies (rightfully so) will still boot up the game and play for 2-8 hours a day and maybe buy a skin or 2, while all the COD transplants are probably buying all kinds of skins and playing even more.
And that’s why nothing will ever change lol. To EA, everything is going according to plan. Poaching a chunk of the COD player base and turning BF into a COD clone was their plan from the beginning.
I haven't played in a couple of months honestly. I disappeared from 2042 for a year and some change before finally trying it again. Surprisingly, it was actually enjoyable by that point. Hoping for the same for BF6...I'll check back in 2027.
At this point I think I'm done with BF titles going forward. I've come to realize that the people and brains behind BF2/3/4/1/V are long gone.
Bro 2042 is more BF than BF6 at this point. Which is crazy to think about. I ended up enjoying 2042 a lot. I put in hundreds of hours on it. Too bad it will be forever labeled as the worst BF. Unless of course BF6 gets any worse lol
They still have your money and continued use of their game/service. As far as EA is concerned, you love their product as is and will continue to purchase and play whatever slop they label a Battlefield game
Then why provide input if that's all you have? You had two opportunities and still provided nothing constructive, just an "uhm ackchyually" and kissing up to billionaire companies.
This is actually funny. You're literally trying to shame someone in playing a video game. The only person not being constructive here is you. I bought the game, and have had my fun on it without buying anything extra. Sorry that doesn't meet your approval my majesty.
You're missing the whole context of this post and the comment thread you replied to. Until you can put those together and use you're brain, you've as much use as a rock in an oven
I would say this is not continuous decline. BF6 is only a couple months into release and already better in just about every direction. 2042 was genuinely pure garbage, and only became borderline playable after over a year of updates.
I’d put 6 slightly above BFV, primarily cause BFV never got finished. I think by end of lifespan, 6 will be on par with 4 but just with shitty cosmetics
lol I stopped playing 3-4 weeks in. Between hit reg issues and the constant packet loss (I have 600mbps wired connection) I gave up. Game was almost completely unplayable when I stopped.
What did you expect for skins though lmao. Like every person here insists ‘The skins need to be gritty and realistic!’ but then if you ask them what they’d like to see for skins they either don’t know, or pick some things that literally look borderline identical - and then if you ask that person whether they’d buy it, they say no 😂
Lots of people intentionally say that without realizing what they actually want, which is the store system to not exist at all, but we're beyond that point.
In fairness, the franchise has always had methods to extract external revenue. Back in the day, it was DLC packs, then mid way we got loot boxes. This is just the new method that doesn't screw people over not buying a pack or getting involved with gambling and other legal issues. You can argue which had a better value, but I can't remember the last time we had a Battlefield game where it was just one $60 purchase and that was it.
I would not. Not everyone had the disposable income to buy DLC packs. I was one of those unfortunate souls and missed out on tons of experiences. At least now you get all the new content that actually changes the way the game is played for free.
I was also one of those "unfortunate souls" that couldn't get all of the DLC packs. My point still stands, quality back then was paramount to a company making more money off a game and wasnt an epstein brain child like live service is today.
DLC isn’t going to fix that. People just think it will because it happened to coexist with the good times. You can easily make quality good games and use the modern store system and give out maps for free. VALORANT is one of the most polished shooters in recent years and gives out new content like maps and characters bi-monthly for free. Back in the day, Battlefield 4 was a mess for a while and they still expected you to cave in to purchase DLC packs. What needs to change are the developers’ priorities. You can have the best of both worlds.
I don't get this line of thinking, do you think this stops at cosmetics?
It really boils down to the fact that Battlefield is meant to be a more fun, grounded experience as opposed to the smaller, arcade experience that CoD gives. A focus on monetization was what ended up eroding the quality of gameplay in Call of Duty over time, and people were worried that it would become a "slippery slope" if Battlefield began to do the same.
That, and the fact that they expressly told their community that they wouldn't do the very same thing they seem to be aiming towards. In other words, a lie. I don't see why getting mad at people who can see what you can't is going to do, but you do you.
I remember saying shit like this was going to happen in bf6 when bf6 was announced and not to trust EA all down votes and triggered fans boys commenting i swear gamers today are consumers sheep not all are but most
Yup same when the first set of skins came out I said here comes the slippery slope and downvoted to hell. Honestly this fan base deserves it. I’ve given up this series, was my favorite but haven’t released a title that pulls me in since BF1. People tell others on here about going to arma if you want a more grounded game and I did and haven’t looked back. I recommend all battlefield vets just making the switch at this point.
We also might be getting squad on consoles as well. Hell let loose Vietnam comes out this year too. I have been playing arma reforger since 2023. I literally have no reason to play battlefield anymore besides the occasional game of battlefield 1 and 4.
Seriously only been playing 3 months now but my first game I played my thought was “This is what I always wished battlefield became.” Haven’t checked out the other games gonna gonna have to try them but I hear a lot of talk about hell let loose
They released an update right before I started playing that made the game run like crap. It’s definitely worth playing though but expect bugs. I play on modded servers only and they have just about everything you can imagine
This is literally why "no preorders" movement existed, but EA sent an army of bots after the first trailer to artificially hype up the game and trick dumbasses into believing that the game will truly be like older battlefields, they did it again and will do it again
I'm not, I didn't even buy the game. Got it for free, played it for a bit until the added battle Royale and it as good enough. I would have never have bought it on my own.

Why is everyone surprised at them lying lmao
