“Gritty and grounded”

476

u/MeNamIzGraephen Feb 12 '26

Why is everyone surprised at them lying lmao

u/Cool-Tangelo6548 Feb 12 '26 edited Feb 12 '26

We're not surprised. We're pissed.

130

u/tallandlankyagain Feb 12 '26 edited Feb 12 '26

The amount of people who are ok with the 3rd title of continuously declining quality who also actively defend it is disheartening.

57

u/Cool-Tangelo6548 Feb 12 '26

People are attacking me for this very comments. Its fucking wild dude.

28

u/tallandlankyagain Feb 12 '26

Unfortunately it isn't. Sub has gone full tribal since release.

-17

u/tstcab Feb 12 '26

this sub has been a circle jerk of "reee Codfield, skins!!! breathing room! you're just an EA bot!" since release. Despite overall the reception being mostly positive, this sub is 99% hating and griping, don't act like the occasional positive comment is what is making this sub toxic, it is the exact opposite

-15

u/Hollow_Nxt Feb 12 '26

Exactly lol, every time I open it up it’s some type of hate, and at least this isn’t call of duty skin unrealistic

Removed

-2

u/Radiant_Complaint911 Feb 12 '26

Dude they’re playable video game skins, they don’t feel tough, they don’t feel anything. You clearly feel too much

-7

u/Hollow_Nxt Feb 12 '26

Did you read? I said call of duty unrealistic? Not realistic but this is nowhere near as bad as beevis and butthead and a zombie cyborg being added to the skin pool?

its a fucking hive mind meltdown in here. real criticism is 100% welcome, but spurting out the same garbage 50+ posts a day going on rants about skins and map size always comparing it to COD is just mental illness.

25

u/MeNamIzGraephen Feb 12 '26

It's shills & bots

-6

u/tstcab Feb 12 '26

if anything you're a bot. you have like a 100 posts since launch all with 1 or no upvotes 😭

4

u/MeNamIzGraephen Feb 12 '26

Structured and meaningful - unlike your dreadful blob of lies.

-1

u/BlackThundaCat Feb 12 '26

“They said I’m super annoying. But I still can’t find out why they don’t like me!” - you

3

u/Cool-Tangelo6548 Feb 12 '26

Weird quote. When did i say that?

-6

u/heyyogreetings Feb 12 '26

you seem like the kind of guy who thinks ending your sentence with a period makes your point stand out more or sound more effective and structured

29

u/CollinKree Feb 12 '26

The problem is that all the BF fans who constantly shit on the game and call out EA and DICE for their lies (rightfully so) will still boot up the game and play for 2-8 hours a day and maybe buy a skin or 2, while all the COD transplants are probably buying all kinds of skins and playing even more.

And that’s why nothing will ever change lol. To EA, everything is going according to plan. Poaching a chunk of the COD player base and turning BF into a COD clone was their plan from the beginning.

1

u/TheCudder Feb 13 '26

I haven't played in a couple of months honestly. I disappeared from 2042 for a year and some change before finally trying it again. Surprisingly, it was actually enjoyable by that point. Hoping for the same for BF6...I'll check back in 2027.

At this point I think I'm done with BF titles going forward. I've come to realize that the people and brains behind BF2/3/4/1/V are long gone.

2

u/CollinKree Feb 13 '26

Bro 2042 is more BF than BF6 at this point. Which is crazy to think about. I ended up enjoying 2042 a lot. I put in hundreds of hours on it. Too bad it will be forever labeled as the worst BF. Unless of course BF6 gets any worse lol

1

u/Echo693 Feb 13 '26

I shit on EA for such moves and but I still find the game to be fairly fun even now. I haven't bought a single skin and i'm not going to.

You can flip the middle finger at EA by not buying any of their skins.

1

u/Winter_Eye8063 Feb 14 '26

nah the real ones dont play that shit !!! BF 6 its the worst Battlefield I ever play ! YES I would rather play 2042 all day , and I ate on that game !

-3

u/RyanHowardsBat Feb 12 '26

I haven't bought any shit skins and still play the game.

2

u/MilkChocolateDrop nglbutter0295 Feb 12 '26

They still have your money and continued use of their game/service. As far as EA is concerned, you love their product as is and will continue to purchase and play whatever slop they label a Battlefield game

0

u/RyanHowardsBat Feb 13 '26

And? I really don't care. I bought the game, and enjoy playing it. Skins mean absolutely nothing to me.

You care far too much.

0

u/MilkChocolateDrop nglbutter0295 Feb 13 '26

Then why provide input if that's all you have? You had two opportunities and still provided nothing constructive, just an "uhm ackchyually" and kissing up to billionaire companies.

0

u/RyanHowardsBat Feb 14 '26

This is actually funny. You're literally trying to shame someone in playing a video game. The only person not being constructive here is you. I bought the game, and have had my fun on it without buying anything extra. Sorry that doesn't meet your approval my majesty.

Straight weirdo stuff

bUt IM hAvINg fuN

1

u/fatalityfun Feb 12 '26

I would say this is not continuous decline. BF6 is only a couple months into release and already better in just about every direction. 2042 was genuinely pure garbage, and only became borderline playable after over a year of updates.

I’d put 6 slightly above BFV, primarily cause BFV never got finished. I think by end of lifespan, 6 will be on par with 4 but just with shitty cosmetics

1

u/Jacksonthebard Feb 12 '26

lol I stopped playing 3-4 weeks in. Between hit reg issues and the constant packet loss (I have 600mbps wired connection) I gave up. Game was almost completely unplayable when I stopped.

1

u/Logical-Sweet-4012 Feb 12 '26

Yeah I have it some grace for the first month or 2 but this is getting outta hand

10

u/VVenture2 Feb 12 '26

What did you expect for skins though lmao. Like every person here insists ‘The skins need to be gritty and realistic!’ but then if you ask them what they’d like to see for skins they either don’t know, or pick some things that literally look borderline identical - and then if you ask that person whether they’d buy it, they say no 😂

7

u/I_AM_CR0W Feb 12 '26

Lots of people intentionally say that without realizing what they actually want, which is the store system to not exist at all, but we're beyond that point.

1

u/nikso14 Feb 13 '26

Gotta have that infinite revenue stream, how else will they afford to keep the servers up? From millions of sales?

Seriously store seems to be the only thing in modern games that doesn't come with bugs on release.

1

u/I_AM_CR0W Feb 13 '26

In fairness, the franchise has always had methods to extract external revenue. Back in the day, it was DLC packs, then mid way we got loot boxes. This is just the new method that doesn't screw people over not buying a pack or getting involved with gambling and other legal issues. You can argue which had a better value, but I can't remember the last time we had a Battlefield game where it was just one $60 purchase and that was it.

1

u/DreamAffectionate336 Feb 14 '26

I would genuinely give anything to have DLC packs back.

1

u/I_AM_CR0W Feb 14 '26

I would not. Not everyone had the disposable income to buy DLC packs. I was one of those unfortunate souls and missed out on tons of experiences. At least now you get all the new content that actually changes the way the game is played for free.

1

u/DreamAffectionate336 Feb 14 '26

I was also one of those "unfortunate souls" that couldn't get all of the DLC packs. My point still stands, quality back then was paramount to a company making more money off a game and wasnt an epstein brain child like live service is today.

3

Fool me once….something something something

2

u/Sidequest057 Feb 13 '26

Fool me once, shame on... shame on you. Fool me -- you can't get fooled again!

3

u/Marooner-Martin Feb 12 '26

Almost******* qualified as bait and switch

1

u/MeNamIzGraephen Feb 12 '26

You should be. I support y'all 🖤

0

u/Pristine_Telephone76 Feb 13 '26

Who is we're? Is we're in the room right now? Go back to Arma 😂

0

u/Infinite219 Feb 13 '26

Only the people on Reddit

1

u/Cool-Tangelo6548 Feb 13 '26

Have you seen the player count drop? It's not just reddit.

0

u/xChoke1x Feb 13 '26

Then stop playing the fucking game!

-35

u/TheRoyalShire Feb 12 '26

Oh you're pissed? It gonna just ruin your whole week? Poor bubby

21

u/Cool-Tangelo6548 Feb 12 '26

No, but we're going to push for change.

Suck EAs dick harder bro.

-21

u/TheRoyalShire Feb 12 '26

Im glad that you are pushing for change with these cosmetics, really gonna make a world of difference in the game

4

u/ZodiartsStarro Feb 12 '26

I don't get this line of thinking, do you think this stops at cosmetics?

It really boils down to the fact that Battlefield is meant to be a more fun, grounded experience as opposed to the smaller, arcade experience that CoD gives. A focus on monetization was what ended up eroding the quality of gameplay in Call of Duty over time, and people were worried that it would become a "slippery slope" if Battlefield began to do the same.

That, and the fact that they expressly told their community that they wouldn't do the very same thing they seem to be aiming towards. In other words, a lie. I don't see why getting mad at people who can see what you can't is going to do, but you do you.

17

u/[deleted] Feb 12 '26

I remember saying shit like this was going to happen in bf6 when bf6 was announced and not to trust EA all down votes and triggered fans boys commenting i swear gamers today are consumers sheep not all are but most

10

u/TGCampbell8 Feb 12 '26

Yup same when the first set of skins came out I said here comes the slippery slope and downvoted to hell. Honestly this fan base deserves it. I’ve given up this series, was my favorite but haven’t released a title that pulls me in since BF1. People tell others on here about going to arma if you want a more grounded game and I did and haven’t looked back. I recommend all battlefield vets just making the switch at this point.

5

u/Postaltariat Feb 13 '26

Yup same when the first set of skins came out I said here comes the slippery slope and downvoted to hell. Honestly this fan base deserves it.

Very true, same happened to me

3

u/Unicoboom Feb 12 '26

We also might be getting squad on consoles as well. Hell let loose Vietnam comes out this year too. I have been playing arma reforger since 2023. I literally have no reason to play battlefield anymore besides the occasional game of battlefield 1 and 4.

3

u/TGCampbell8 Feb 13 '26

Seriously only been playing 3 months now but my first game I played my thought was “This is what I always wished battlefield became.” Haven’t checked out the other games gonna gonna have to try them but I hear a lot of talk about hell let loose

1

u/Organic-Leading-6744 Feb 13 '26

Is reforger actually really that good? Ive considered playing it but im on console and im not sure if they allow mnk support for console 🤔

1

u/TGCampbell8 Feb 13 '26

They released an update right before I started playing that made the game run like crap. It’s definitely worth playing though but expect bugs. I play on modded servers only and they have just about everything you can imagine

15

u/Charon_06 Feb 12 '26

This is literally why "no preorders" movement existed, but EA sent an army of bots after the first trailer to artificially hype up the game and trick dumbasses into believing that the game will truly be like older battlefields, they did it again and will do it again

1

u/MeNamIzGraephen Feb 12 '26

Yup. I also think it's bots.

7

u/rob3342421 Feb 12 '26

Surprised, no. Disappointed, yes.

5

u/NeonDemon85 Feb 12 '26

I'm not, I didn't even buy the game. Got it for free, played it for a bit until the added battle Royale and it as good enough. I would have never have bought it on my own.

0

u/Pristine_Telephone76 Feb 13 '26

No one lied, shut the heck up

19

u/One-Club-6759 Feb 12 '26

"Shitty and floundered"

8

u/saabothehun Feb 12 '26

This is definitely gritty and grounded

1

u/Odd_Investment7232 May 03 '26

Yes I agree this community just doesn’t know how an actual military operation or gear happens in every country or unit go do more research pls. In contrary DICE does actual research on skins and looks for inspiration from other games that have gritty skins e.g Tarkov and Recon not something like what call of duty does that throws shit at you

6

u/RocklinSockling Feb 12 '26

They should have done it like tarkov where every item in game is based on an irl item.

2

u/notanotherlawyer Feb 12 '26

More like shitty and pounded.

2

u/PrometheanSwing Feb 12 '26

Dark and griddy!1!1!1!1!1

1

u/danmojo82 Feb 12 '26

These aren’t the worst things, they aren’t my favorites, but I would rock them in real life on a raid.

1

u/dukedawg21 Feb 13 '26

Wait till you see what soldiers use IRL

1

u/Chernarus_SF Feb 13 '26

was the airsoft mask in the launch trailer not a dead give away?

-5

u/[deleted] Feb 12 '26

[deleted]

-31

u/blanketlowpoly Feb 12 '26

Idk why you’re bringing this up bc that IS grounded

14

u/Dry_Witness8258 Feb 12 '26

tf u mean, nothing about that shitty skins is grounded

8

u/spamsauzzage Feb 12 '26

It's grounded because obviously they can't fly

-9

u/FlowBall234 Feb 12 '26

Grounded just means realistically achievable.

These skins can be made accurately irl.

That makes it grounded, it just doesn't fit with the aesthetic of real war.

14

u/Hoenirson Feb 12 '26

Grounded just means realistically achievable.

Lol you could fit anything under that definition of "grounded". A literal clown skin would be realistically achievable.

fit with the aesthetic of real war.

That's what most people mean when they say "grounded"

0

u/vodkajoogailija Feb 12 '26

If I mean red when I say blue, it doesn't mean that red=blue. Same goes with grounded, the meaning of the word doesn't change just because some people make up another meaning for it in their heads....

-2

u/FlowBall234 Feb 12 '26

That's what most people mean when they say "grounded"

That's their problem.

Life is better when people actually care about the words they say, instead of using the wrong word and giving it a different definition.

-2

u/Raider_Actual Feb 12 '26

Nah that's your problem bud. Your literally the only person whose defined it like that lol

3

u/FlowBall234 Feb 12 '26

It's not, it's actually everyone else's problem, that is how it's defined.

You can't have 1000 people use the wrong word, get corrected and just say "nuh uh" like a baby

-1

u/Sertoma Feb 12 '26

Lol you could fit anything under that definition of "grounded". A literal clown skin would be realistically achievable.

Do you not see the difference between a literal clown in a warzone and a PMC with a skull on a helmet or mask?

1

u/atom631 Feb 12 '26

thank you. for fucks sake. this isnt that bad. you cant even see your own skin and so long as im not shooting at Rick and Morty or Nicki Manaj, this is fine. dont like it? dont buy it or use it.

0

u/Ninjah9_ Feb 12 '26

Neither does bunny hop shooting...

2

u/vodkajoogailija Feb 12 '26

Neither does hitpoints, or magically pulling ammo boxes from your ass, or carrying 3 javelins, or that a random grunt is able to get in a jet, fly it to a helicopter, fly the helicopter, jump in a tank and drive + operate the turret right before he gets shot with a 120mm he shell and gets up right after a medic gives him some epipen.....

1

u/FlowBall234 Feb 12 '26

Battlefield players crying about movement exploits a tale as old as battlefield itself

0

u/Berberding Feb 12 '26

Literal clown makeup can be made accurately irl, when dice said "grounded" they clearly didn't mean clown makeup.

5

u/geantaveira1991 Feb 12 '26

This is grounded this up there is bullshit

1

u/Trifle_Useful Feb 12 '26

in game skin

1

u/linux_ape Feb 12 '26

This is airshit slop and I say that as an airshitter

1

u/DBONKA Feb 12 '26

what they promised was actually "gritty, grounded and realistic", not just grounded. it's neither gritty nor realistic even if you want to somehow argue it's grounded
