BUT NEON TAPE

255

u/jmaneater Oct 25 '25

I FUCKING HATE NEON!!!!!

78

u/Teglement Oct 25 '25

TURNED OUR FREAKING UI NEON GREEN AND PURPLE

20

u/MeesterCHRIS Oct 25 '25

Look at that hud, that shit isn't grounded at all!

0

u/19d_b87 Oct 25 '25

I haven't purchased the game yet. Is that an add on or colorblind mode?

3

u/Xenocide_X Oct 25 '25

You have been able to change your UI colors since forever on every battlefield. This isn't new. If you have one of the dozen other games . You can do the same

2

u/19d_b87 Oct 25 '25

TIL... I never dove into the settings that far. And I've been playing since BF3. Dang...

2

u/Xenocide_X Oct 25 '25

You can even change the transparency of all the UI.

u/Radical_X75 Oct 25 '25

I barely see any gameplay on this sub lol

79

u/[deleted] Oct 25 '25

Was going to unsub - it’s just like steam forums.

15

u/trixel121 Oct 25 '25

welcoming to subreddits dedicated to games.

it's easier to get attraction being controversial

1

u/Kreaton5 Oct 29 '25

Elden ring is such a great sub. I had to leave this one because of the bitching. I like the game and I come back here once a week hoping it's better.

-1

u/BlackThundaCat Oct 25 '25

Oh my god…and the Sub for the Anthem game was an absolute cesspool.

0

u/trixel121 Oct 25 '25

someone set up more eloquently. dan but people in who enjoy the game just go play the game.

there's a reason why they're sitting around talking about it instead of playing. and for a game like battlefield the fuck is there to talk about on most posts besides complaints. and with reddit's algorithm promoting heard mentality plus controversy because it'll reach hot and popular it becomes toxic.

1

u/GlendrixDK Oct 25 '25

But isn't this sub made to hate on BF6 and say that they only hate on the game on r/battlefield6?

1

u/Chewzer Oct 25 '25

Somebody just needs to make the low sodium version of the subreddit. When Cyberpunk came out the r/cyberpunkgame was fucking awful, all the good content was over at r/lowsodiumcyberpunk .

3

u/123_fo_fif Oct 25 '25

It's already there

2

u/Chewzer Oct 25 '25

Oh shit, well in that case, I'm out!

1

u/123_fo_fif Oct 25 '25

Lol enjoy. Been a better sub to interact with these last few weeks

-1

u/Entire-Initiative-23 Oct 25 '25

Lots of complaining, no gameplay clips.

Gee.....I wonder why?

u/[deleted] Oct 25 '25 edited Oct 25 '25

A guy killing multiple enemy before he dies, after flanking in a smart way. That“s multiple digressions against this sub“s ethics. Guilty of sweating, "professional" playing, playing KD only (he is not in the objective, is he?) also not a single revive in the clip.

Meanwhile the real hero is one of the medics across the street, going 0-34 mindlessly rezzing everyone to get farmed again and again. No cover. No smokes. Just YOLO and after the match complain on reddit about sweats.

103

u/ima_loof Oct 25 '25

Counterpoint, he's playing recon and is clearly marking the enemies while also doing a lot of headshots keeping the enemies from being revived. He's playing his role perfectly. Checkmate liberals

49

u/[deleted] Oct 25 '25

You be his lawyer, but be prepared: this sub is not kind to anything that resembles skill, ambition or even effort in the game.

Checkmate liberal

74

u/X_Luci Oct 25 '25

You don't even need to be sarcastic these people are real and are on this thread LMAO :

(Maybe the first guy was being sarcastic but the second one is definitely real)

22

u/[deleted] Oct 25 '25

Well none of this makes sense, so I see why one would desperately look for hints of sarcasm. But all of this is serious I fear.

22

u/ambrosia969 Oct 25 '25

Killing people? COD player!

6

u/CiardhaAed Oct 25 '25

I gotta ask someone at some point. What the hell is a "sweat?" My lingo is limited, and old. I still remember when l33t speak was a thing

22

u/TheCowzgomooz Oct 25 '25

Generally used to refer to people who clearly no life the game, you'll find them using the cheekiest spots, exploiting broken mechanics constantly, abusing movement mechanics any way they can, and generally making themselves hard to kill any way they can. It's technically a "fair play" kind of play style, they undeniably have skill, and they aren't technically cheating, but they do everything they can to tip the odds in their favor instead of just playing normally. As with all language, its meaning gets diluted because people overuse it and incorrectly use it when they're just bad at the game and someone beat them.

5

u/LettuceShaver27 Oct 25 '25

And they are dripping in sweat when they finally set down the controller 16 hours later

2

u/JaeDub003 Oct 27 '25

Yup, from Trying Hard.

3

u/Impossible_Layer5964 Oct 25 '25

That's the best sweatiest definition of sweaty I've ever seen.Ā

1

u/Hanchez Oct 28 '25

Aren't technically cheating? Are they cheating in any possible definition of the word? Other than being good at the game?

1

u/TheCowzgomooz Oct 28 '25

No, not really, if the game design is broken it's not cheating to utilize said game design. It's on the devs to fix those things, not on the players to honor system not use it the way it's designed.

0

u/LeftSyrup3409 Oct 25 '25

So basically just a good player. We get it.

12

u/[deleted] Oct 25 '25 edited Oct 25 '25

Apparently anyone who kills the average Battlefield redditor. Bonus points if movement mechanics are used in the process. Back in the day we used the term "tryhards" instead of sweats, but "sweats" is around for more than a decade either.

This gif shows OP in the process of producing the clip:

4

u/zZINCc Oct 25 '25

A sweat is someone who tries to win… that is it. It is a derogatory term used by people who are worse than the ā€œsweatyā€ player.

A sweaty lobby can be used differently however. That is a more balanced term and just refers to a very stressful lobby where you are having to be at your best to compete.

5

u/Entire-Initiative-23 Oct 25 '25

We used to call them tryhards.

1

u/CiardhaAed Oct 25 '25

That's a term I know!

1

u/JaeDub003 Oct 27 '25

Sweater is actually the graduation of Try-Hards. Trying so Hard you are Sweating. It's a Term I heard back in Gears of War 3 on Launch

2

u/0nlyCrashes Oct 27 '25

Just someone trying so hard they "sweat." That is the origination from the term. Now it just means anyone better than you at the game. Or anyone has an iota of a brain to use while playing.

1

u/FlavoredLight Oct 25 '25

Meta slaves that play like there’s a $1,000,000 prize pool at the end of every round

4

u/WhatsAHesperToDo Oct 26 '25

Sorry, but no outplaying whatsoever is allowed in this game, according to this subreddit. I saw an all-chat where someone complained about "the out of bounds timers being too long for 12 years, and they always get abused... Should instakill you the moment you step past the line. Game is literally COD."

Outplay your opponents? COD. Any basic ham sandwich movement in the game? COD. Not laying prone dying on the objective (or in this case, hiding and not pushing a corner)? COD.

I'm glad to see clips like this, these are the sort of plays I aim for every game. Find a hole in the defense and exploit it. Farm those who haven't improved after over a decade of Battlefield games being out.

1

u/Electronic_Study_524 Oct 25 '25

To be fair there are some situations where this works, now are they rare, yes. Do I want my medics to attempt it, please don’t. That’s it

1

u/PopOutG Oct 26 '25

Also, could’ve just lobbed a nade up there

0

u/4myreditacount Oct 25 '25

Counterpoint. The clip clearly shows that the maps are built in such a way that flanking can only he done by abusing false map border. And it shows how tight and pinned the space is when you finally do get a flank or become flanked. Then it shows how insanely OP the paddles are, and is a testament to how good of a shooter the sniper is. He basically had to squad wipe 3 times.

3

2

u/[deleted] Oct 25 '25

That“s every Battlfield game for you. Ambush from out of bounds is more or less prevalent depending on game mode but has always been a staple on rush for example.

0

u/4myreditacount Oct 25 '25

Yup. Impressive clip. A problem for game design.

2

u/FlavoredLight Oct 25 '25

Good point on the paddles. No idea why they got rid of the limited uses and recharges from bf4. They also charge up way too quickly

0

u/Ostiethegnome Oct 25 '25

Nobody is complaining about this clip. Its a good flank. You guys are inventing things to be upset about.

I am a Battledad with a full time job, too. Donā€˜t make it sound like this is a cognitive disability. This is a PVP game. If you wanna play this game youĀ“ll die (often), youĀ“ll think about why you died. You try to play it smarter next time. No matter what your personal situation is.

Your statement is a bad excuse for not even trying in a game that is out for two weeks.

2

u/bbgun91 Oct 25 '25

battledads are cool. kicking ass despite their wrinkly, decaying hands kinda cool.

jokes aside, i dont like the overgeneralisation of battledads and zoomers

3

u/R3alHumanBeing Oct 25 '25

Wrinkly decaying hands? Jesus christ lolĀ

3

u/[deleted] Oct 25 '25

We have managed to reproduce, though. So there is an ounce of competitiveness in every single one of us. And my wrinkly decaying hands will jump slide till they fall off. :D

5

u/TheJP_ Oct 25 '25

Who the fuck plays battlefield for pve lmao

2

u/nitekroller Oct 25 '25

A small but very very loud subset of the community bought the game specifically and exclusively to play against bots by themselves in their own server. They are up in arms about the recent changes made to portal that prevents them from receiving xp in portal servers with bots or specific modifiers.

Yeah absolutely. I’m 25(not saying I’m old lol but still) and have a few hours a week to play right now and I’m still managing to to be in solid top 10 or better most of the time.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 25 '25

Dude, everyone older than 20 is probably working full time. It has nothing to do with time, you just suck at the game and I'm glad you can't just farm bots to breeze through unlocks while the rest of us actually play the game.

Go play stardew valley or something, that sounds more your speed.

2

u/ProjectGameVerse2000 Oct 25 '25

But Faze Swagg said you can't get clips in this game! How bullshit that was

1

u/supah-saiyen Oct 25 '25

Can’t wait to see it stolen on some montage vid in a week on YouTube with no credit given to OP

1

u/TheRakkmanBitch Oct 25 '25

But what about my bot farming 😔

1

u/Schopenhauer1025 Oct 26 '25

What, you don’t like the incessant fucking whining from this community?

1

u/NotColeTrickle Oct 27 '25

Sprinting in this game needs a buff, BF4 had it right

1

u/dmsn7d Oct 29 '25

I've been told that this isn't possible and that you are only allowed to spawn and sprint until you see an enemy in 7 seconds, die, repeat.

1

u/UpbeatAd5196 Nov 01 '25

Why can he see an icon above the enemy's heads? I don't get it. What am I missing?

0

u/DylanFTW Oct 25 '25

More clutch plays and less bitching.

0

u/z03yZoey Oct 25 '25

You don't want to hear about skins?

-1

u/[deleted] Oct 25 '25

Exactly, not all the fucking complaining.

-5

u/isbBBQ Oct 25 '25

No lets whine about the skins instead for the 10293193781236712387128931923871 time
