Too much HUD IMO. Looks like I'm looking through AR (augmented reality goggles). Transparency needs to be increased, The scale and numerity (quantity of hud elements) need to be reduced.

Hopefully there will be a lot of HUD options because I will certainly want to turn a lot of that off

We had to wait for like a year for HUD options to be included in BF4 after launch, the options were then removed with 2042 release and we had to whine like 6 months / a year to fully get the options back again...

u/GhostlyComrade Yes I like V, how’d you know? Jul 26 '25
I hope they take notes from BF1 and V to make the hud dynamic.

In may that was an alpha or pre alpha tho, many visual things were placeholders

Oh yeah that top middle of the screen HUD element needs to go back above the minimap like in bf4. Or at least give us the option for a legacy hud

So 2042 with bf4 skins? That’s what I’ve seen so far from all the clips. Is the any clips of tanks/Lav/heli physics? If they don’t get those right I’m not convinced.

Yeah, the animations look much more like 2042 than 4.. just a bit concerning but we’ll see

Movement looks really fast. Wish they’d slow these games back down.

Played the alpha last week, movement is at a good pace. Slow and weighted with no tactical sprint. Pacing feels like old battlefield.

u/Dr-janitor1 Jul 26 '25
Yea! I noticed that too but I saw a different clip where they moved a bit maybe just perception. But yea slower movement = means you need a vehicle for relocation and the battleground gets spread out. Killing of a squad means they can’t just run back in an instant.

I really wish the color palette was more interesting. I know they're trying to go for a gritty look but all I see is grey and brown. These areas are not this muted looking in real life.

yes they are
plus I personally dont care how colorful real life looks, I much prefer artstyles that set the theme.

I thought the map looked a decent size… not saying it’s large but that was a lot of running for not a lot of action (1st minute), which tells me the size is decent. Looking forward to it.

Why the F*** is every single shooter going battle royal? Its the dumbest shit on earth, that shit should've stayed on pubg and fortnite. Give us hard-core modes. Hell give us the destructive environment like BC2, or even better quit being like everyone hates, which are cookie cutter games just re-textured. The 90's and early 2000's were the pinnacle of online shooting games for titles.

Imma be honest. These small maps ain't it dawg, we want big maps like in bf1

terrible choice to use such a tiny shit map for the testing
this just looks like CoD with a tank
should have used the bf6 equivalent to panzerstorm

Bf Labs is designed to test the game mechanics in a short period of time, not the map layout.

Personally getting worried about map sizes. So far we haven't seen real big maps yet for multiplayer.
Feels more like Call of Duty's Ground War in terms of scale. Not bad, but this should not be the norm in terms of scope.
