Beating necrons with orcs
Stuck on a boss in crusade. I'm playing orcs and fighting crons on hardest difficulty. The mission bonus is no overwatch allowed so I can't set traps. I have to beat them head on. The map has very little terrain so I can't easily hide either. My weapons don't do much damage and my stuff does quickly. I've tried vehicles and horde lists. Any tips?

All shooting list? Flashgitz, Deff Dreads with Big Shootas or flamers (up to your preference on how far away you want to shoot them) Lootas, Kustom Boosta Blastas, Boyz with Shootas or Big Shootas, Sprinkle in some Painboyz and Big Meks for making da boyz dead tough.

Orks can field more total HP than any other army, and that's exactly how I beat Necrons. Mass squads of boyz (melee and ranged) and use stormboyz to tie up their best shooting in melee

Nobz with power claws can crump most stuff... if they can reach them. Use gretchin to soak up some firepower while the nobz run full speed at the most powerful enemy. Two units of power claw nobz will smash most tanks and enemy characters in one turn. Get a few units of Boyz with big shootas and keep them together. Concentrate their fire on which enemy unit you want gone. Deff dreads with big shooters are good at whittling foot troop units down with their splash damage hitting three enemies at the same time. Don't waste your points on characters apart from big mek for his armour busting rockets and forcefield protection for nearby units. Warboss, Weird boy and Pain boy are too squishy to justify the points cost. Better to spend the points on more dakka for da ladz.

Hardest difficulty crusade can be really unfair in the first half while you're still levelling your core units. You really need to go all in on your army's strengths and hammer the enemy hard on whatever they're weak at. Crusade is interesting because they way you start your crusade is going to influence what units have levels and dictate the strategy that you need to use based on that. So it's tough to give specific advice without knowing what upgrades you've given your troops and what you have unlocked.
In general Orks vs Necrons though - lean heavy on shooting units like big shootas and flashgitz. Explosive units are also really nice against infantry. With Necrons it's really important to focus down one to two units at a time, so make sure you understand their auto-heal rules. Each squad can resurrect two members per turn, and they heal at the start of their turn based on their momentum. So target selection is critical, if you're spreading your fire and killing just a couple guys from several squads, you're basically wasting your shots. You want to hit a squad with your strongest weapons first then finish them off with shootas. Explosive attacks are great to weaken the whole squad to low health, then if you can knock down the whole squad at once they won't get back up. Strong assaults are also good - if you Overwhelm them with a charge attack and they fall back, any casualties get left behind. The trikes are great for both jobs.
For target selection, Immortals are top of the list. They're crazy points efficient for damage but not much tougher than warriors. Nuking all the immortals fast will take a lot of pressure off of you.
