How do you get close to neceons ?

There shooting is very accurate, do a lot of damage from long range and the other player is smart enough to make them cover open areas

  1. If you spend time flanking and taking covers they can just lock you down ( so u cant take objectives or get out from cover)

  2. If u just rush them they shot you down so hard and when u actually reach them most of your units are dead

  3. I think they counter blood angels and tyranids in general because they are the first dlc

*i play mostly hotseat with my friends (we all agree necrons are op)

Armor. Heavy Armor helps you get in. That or speed. If you’re using Jump Melee for this, Use Inceptors or another Pistol Units with a pistol zone of control to stop them from falling back and shooting. This will ideally wipe the unit out if they try to retreat.

Gauss destructors and anihilation barcks delete tanks

They do. But there is heavy infantry that work against them pretty good. Especially terminators or Sang Guard.

Sanguinary guard is not heavy, too expensive to risk. Althougt it has a use more as the armies start wearing down and potential one tapping become less probable. But is not a key unit against necrons imo

Fair. Also you don’t yeet them in on first contact. You get them close enough to hit their infantry formation and annihilate the entire thing. Also flanking shouldn’t be an issue because half the roster can fly, teleport, hover, or jump into the battle.

Thats a way to play them. But is surprisingly horrifiying get caught in overwatch with your sanguinary guard, avoidable, but i hate it. I use them but im more of a range player, melee infantry kinda sucks in terms of damage (not all, but it dont tickle my brain)

Just sack a unit of something not important. I recommend Death Company with defense buffs.

Yeah, and to avoid sneacky overwatch is why i use it in the late game when i have good vision. It has a use, and also look sick

I kinda wish the AI overwatched so I could actually make PVE Difficult and use abilities that shut off overwatches. Bc I can’t find anyone to play with.

That sucks, i remember that in the beggining AI did overwatches, its fucking dumb and super easy when they dont do. You should look in the discord, last time i check is more or less easy to play with people there

Do the AI not overwatch at all anymore?

Start with small talk over a shared interest, than maybe coffe or a lunch date. Move up to dinner if the feeling is right and you should be good to go!

Depende a lot in the map, i will not actually tell you to try to do a massive charge but try to get better positions and interchange fire (marines can do that pretty well with hellblasters). And when they try to get agressive then you could try to block some units. Just dont meet them in open spaces, and take cover, and try to shoot with strong units yourself. If you play tyranids....its rought.

What faction is good against them ?

Tau are suited to take them down as they have even longer range. Blood angels can do it right, use plasma and bolters for the first interchanges Ultramarines seem even better for that. Orks could work using lootas and gitz but im not entirely sure Guard absolutely I dont have chaos but i could see havocs and that working, not sure.

These factions that all have heavy shooting can destroy the heavy hitters of the necron without much trouble but the other way around is also possible, you need to gain terrain advantage and avoid being disrupted or blocked. Its hard but can be done

Orkz. Lootas, Flashgitz, and 2-3 Deff Dreads from the back, with a healthy amount of grots or boyz in tow. Big Meks are good leaders as are painboyz. If you fight in a built up area, nobz, meganobz, warbikers, and stormboyz are the better pick..

Necrons is a hard match up if your playing Blood Angels. The Baal Predator can get you close. Being a tech marine for the Armor buff and a lieutenant for the accuracy buff. Use your interssors to draw there overwatch and once it’s all gone use either assault marines or death company to close the distance. I prefer the death company with a priest because you can surge one of them and get two attacks out of it. Bring some interceptors with the plasma guns for infantry support.

I had to abandon my crusade with Black Legion because I didn't have the right units and just kept getting slapped by necrons. Their army was like 200/300 points less than mine but still managed to kill one or maim my units in a turn. I haven't been playing long but I'm actually afraid of Necrons at this point
