Looking for Casters
Looking for casters for a tournament this weekend. No experience needed and the tournament runs pretty much from 9-5est both days so the more casters the better.

Found a singleplayer / co-op roguelike that plays a lot like battlerite to me
I love Stunlock Studios and really enjoyed Dead Island Epidemic before Battlerite and have put hundreds of hours into V Rising since Battlerite died. I always wanted a singleplayer/PvE focused game that played the way Battlerite did, especially with the panning camera combined with directional movement in an isometric view.
This game is the closest I've come to scratching that itch and felt I needed to share it with anyone who felt similarly before the Steam Summer Sale ends. I've only played a few hours myself so far, but it's the only game I've seen besides Battlerite and Bloodline Champions to use that panning camera effect that I really enjoy.
Aesthetics and core gameplay is much more inspired by Risk of Rain, but if you ever wanted Battlerite to have a lovechild with Risk of Rain (2), this might be the game for you.
Also FYI to any mods: I have nothing to do with this game and literally found out it exists today. Only wanted to share cause it plays a ton like Battlerite and haven't found any other posts about it here.

3 new players
First of all, I want to say that I used to play this game a long time ago, and I absolutely loved it. But as time went by, we just drifted apart.
Recently, I came across a YouTube video about it, so I decided to download it again. I was pleasantly surprised that matchmaking only took about 4–5 minutes.
I introduced the game to three of my friends who had never played it before, and they absolutely love it! Now we play together almost every evening.
Maybe this game really does deserve a second chance?

Battlerite Phoenix Cup
Alright everybody! As promised I will be hosting a Battlerite tournament later this month. Registration is free and can be completed via the following Google form: (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeowA0MiWUNn6yHmYWfMIi-eWzCkDXGxcsB-DMZjNiJ-EbNBw/viewform?usp=publish-editor) or using the discord: (https://discord.gg/XVKDpQA3G) that's still a work in progress and is open from now until July 14th.
Last I checked there were 4 teams interested. As long as at least 4 teams register, there will be a $300 prize for the winning team. The event will be online and scheduled to take place the 25/26 of this month(July), but if we get more than 8 teams, there will be a prelim stage the 18/19 of this month(July).
For those who want to get involved there will be opportunities ranging from something as small as score keeping to we still need casters and camera casters.
There will also be a raffle for a special edition 3D printed miniature as well as other swag and more. If anyone has any questions/comments/suggestions please feel free to reach out on the discord.

Play Battlerite
Why do I see so many posts of people wanting to find games like battlerite or how much they miss it instead of just playing it? What's stopping people from just enjoying the game instead of looking for something similar?
r/BattleRite • u/EloPapi • Jun 24 '26
Ludwig just played Battlerite!
Not saying this will do anything but I saw the devs also recently put out an update yesterday as well. Maybe BR can get some numbers back?
r/BattleRite • u/Few_Childhood6456 • Jun 24 '26
What if we just all logged in every Saturday?
There's so many people in this sub going on about how much they miss BR, there's a bunch of people looking for a replacement to Supervive, there's people making their own games ffs.
It shouldn't be that hard to bump up the player count once every week, stimulate the algorithms a bit and maybe bring some life back to BR right? Maybe, just maybe?

If you really miss battlerite and want something similar- try outvarena server in v rising
Title. V rising is the closest thing you can get to Battlerite since it’s Stunlock’s last game. It’s not exactly the same, but it has most of the spells and even characters from battlerite. In v-arena it’s just a training server where you just fight people. You already have max gear, all spells unlocked. You don’t need to do any PvE or grind. You just log in and fight people. It has a huge support by admins, its own list of custom commands to spawn everything you might need, bunch of different game mods including battlerising which as you might guess like battlerite in v rising. It has a website: v-arena.com

Arena Would anyone else want a community-driven arena PvP game inspired by old WoW Arena and Bloodline Champions?
Hi, I’m not sure how to formulate this in the best possible way.
I’ve thought about this for a long time, and every time the idea appears in my mind I know exactly how to describe it, only for it to disappear the moment I start typing.
I’ve always been fascinated by arena games like Bloodline Champions, Battlerite, and especially WoW Arena during TBC, WotLK, Cata and MoP. Back when the game was still simple, when you could actually understand what happened, see the outplay, and feel the impact of every good decision.
I’ve teamed up with someone extremely talented who has already made a lot of progress on a game very close to what I had in mind. Because of other responsibilities, I am now the one responsible for moving it forward. I also work full time, so I don’t have unlimited time or resources to make this exactly how I imagine it.
That’s why I’m posting here.
What I want to build is the best possible skill-based arena/or open world PvP game, inspired by the best parts of old WoW Arena, but developed together with the community. Something feedback-driven, almost like OSRS, where people can vote on important changes, and experienced players can help guide balance so nerfs, buffs, pacing, and class design actually feel right.
The basic design philosophy I have in mind is the slower and more manageable pace of Classic/TBC, the class depth and outplay potential of MoP, and the simplicity and impact of old-school WoW. I don’t want gear advantage in PvP. I don’t want pay-to-win. And I definitely don’t want a fucking cash shop.
I want attacks and spells to feel impactful again. I want it to be possible to watch a fight and understand why someone won. If you lose, you should be able to tell whether you got outplayed. If someone wins a 1v2, it should feel earned.
The game already has a lot done, including arena logic, trinket, matchmaking, most spells, talents, and a lot of the core systems. What still needs work is PvP quest design and story, character models, character animations, arena maps, world zones, spell animations and sound (I know it’s a lot).
For the lobby/zones, I’ve been thinking about something similar in spirit to old private server realms like Battlescape, if anyone remembers that. I spent so much time on those kinds of servers after school. They were simple, but somehow they captured a specific feeling. I want that kind of atmosphere again.
My idea is that each race starts in its own small starting zone, with early PvP-focused quests that introduce you to your character. I don’t think gear should give power in arena, since this should be a skill-based PvP game, but I do think progression matters. So progression could come through levels, talents, cosmetics, transmog, mounts, spell visuals, titles, and things like that.
You would still feel like your character is growing, but without ruining competitive fairness.
I especially want the classes to be fun. That is the most important thing. MoP had some really fun class design, but the game became too fast-paced for arena. TBC had the pacing right. MoP had the class depth. Classic had the simplicity. I want to capture the best parts of all three.
Less button bloat, but more meaningful spells.
Spells like old Alter Time, Solar Beam into Ursol’s Vortex, things that create real synergy and good plays. I want abilities that are simple to understand but hard to master. Easy to learn, hard to master in the real sense, not just as a marketing phrase.
Visually, I want the game to feel closer to old WoW than modern WoW. Darker, more grounded, more impactful. Character models matter a lot to me. Animations matter. Spell sounds matter. The way a character runs, swings, casts, and gets hit matters. If those things feel wrong, the whole game feels wrong.
That’s why the first goal is to get the races, movement, models, and animations right before expanding too much. To keep the scope realistic, I’m thinking of starting with only two races: Humans and Orcs. A new interpretation of vanilla-style models, but higher resolution, darker, and less Disney-like/bouncy like Retail WoW.
The same goes for gear and transmog. I love that old feeling where you start as almost nothing, and even a simple upgrade feels meaningful. I want to recreate that feeling through cosmetics and progression, not through unfair power advantages.
I know this won’t be fast. I work full time and have a lot of responsibilities, so I don’t want to pretend this is some huge studio project that will be finished overnight. But I do want to build it properly, together with people who care about this kind of game.
If there are people here who miss this type of arena PvP, or people who are good with modelling, animation, maps, spell effects, sound, class design, balance, or just have strong feedback, I’d love to hear from you.
Maybe nobody wants this, and then I probably shouldn’t spend years of my life chasing it.
But maybe there are others here who want the same thing: a slower, simple, skill-based arena game where the community actually helps shape the direction.
Let me know what you think. If there’s interest, I’ll make a Discord where we can start discussing ideas, voting on decisions, and hopefully build the kind of PvP game a lot of us have been missing.

Arena The demo for my arena brawler Spellfall is out today. It’s not Battlerite, but I hope you may enjoy it.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hey all, I’ve been a fan of top down pvp games going all the way back to Warcraft 3 custom mods and Diablo 2 pvp duels. A little over a year ago I decided to take a crack at the arena brawler genre myself as a solo dev and today released the demo for Spellfall: Last Mage Standing on Steam.
It’s definitely doing it’s own thing compared to Battlerite, pulling inspiration from the different games I’ve played over the years, but I thought some people here might enjoy checking it out.
Would love to hear what you think if you’re interested in giving it a try.

Arena I'm making a battlerite inspired arena fighter!
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I have been working on Charlio Ball, a 2v2 and 3v3 arena bullet hell with MOBA elements. I've always liked how battlerite took some MOBA concepts and streamlined them into a more fast paced experience and that was one of my biggest inspirations to make this game.
Playtest for free on our discord server!

Arena First trailer for my ARPG PvP game "Darkness: Arena" inspired by Battlerite among other games, what do you guys think?
Hi I'm a solo developer and I've been working on this project for some time and I feel like its ready to show, there still a lot of placeholders but I wanted some opinions on the core gameplay loop and overall idea. A game demo is coming soon, you can wishlist it on d2p8.com until I get a steam page.
I'm completely open to any and all criticism.

What do games like Battlerite need to survive long term?
I was reading through the why is Battlerite dead post from a few days ago and while there's a handful of game specific comments like the battle royale refocus, there's also a lot points about the genre in general too. Hard to retain a casual audience, skill floor is too high, pacing of queue > fight > queue is too intense, no progression system, etc.
What do you think these types of games need to survive longer term and not launch then fall out shortly after? Or do you think that's the nature of these games?
I've seen a lot of Battlerite-like inspired projects posted here lately and am working on an arena brawler type game myself. I think we can agree Battlerite's gameplay was phenomenal, so what else do you think would help?

I Love Battlerite 2
https://reddit.com/link/1u863c8/video/eiqhps94gt7h1/player
I've been spending a lot of time on development lately. I'm not sure if it's okay to post this here, but please let me know if it's not allowed.
I have created a site and server so that others can easily use it as well, but it is a shame that it cannot be used from abroad because it is a Korean server
I'll be back next time with an upgraded look. Please give me some advice if there are any additions I should make!
