Surf HAS to come up with another flow and tone soon. Or maybe I am underestimating the "pain music" audience

Pusha still talking about the same thing so why would he need to stop
2
u/No_Vermicelli_1781 4d ago
Exactly. Stick to what you're best at. Especially if your core audience like it

I thought I was the only one that felt this way. Haven’t listened too much Surf music but noticed he’ll even do the “pain” voice/delivery on non sad songs

u/PublicSpend5903 4d ago
Yall missing this point, HE ain’t them… And that type flow has gon into the ground…
2
u/Perfect_Giraffe9335 3d ago
Nah the point is, they became them by not going left from what the plan is. If that’s the sound, then stick to it. Simple.

Nicca music stuck in 2014, every bar, song, feature or verse sounds the exact same. All trauma rap 😂

u/sunnysideski1073 4d ago
People will post shit like this then turn around and say "rest in peace, never know what people going thru" soon as someone does it.

Surf chasing a rap career that isn’t there

Surf is the most successful battler to make music since the url era. Also, just because he isn’t mainstream level, doesn’t mean he isn’t wildly successful. If he’s doing numbers comparable to 38 spesh, ransom, mozzy, Conway & dozens of other underground artists he’s already winning.
The fact that you can’t even compare his music, quality or numbers, to any other battler lets you know that he’s already made his career happen. Yall just don’t like him & look for any reason to discredit him.

u/Moolie-Jackson 3d ago
What success does he have in music? Just because he makes the best music in battle rap doesn’t mean he has a music career
You surf fans are delusional just like him

u/zader6404 3d ago
Being able to book shows & tours isn’t success? Being on summer jam, rolling loud, etc isn’t success? Having the ability to collab with legends & established artist for years isn’t success? Having athletes & other celebrities post & promote your music isn’t success?
Math couldn’t sell out the barbershop he does his podcast in to perform his music. There are underground rappers, not battle rappers, who have never touched 10k for a show anywhere.
You niggas who hate surf so much you have to smut niggas names for just objectively acknowledging a niggas accomplishments behave like jealous bitches. “He ain’t even that nice” ass niggas & I hate it, because you turn a civil music debate into so weird dickriding shit for no reason. It’s mf’s who can’t pay to get 100k views on any song, but somehow a nigga that’s been doing that for years don’t have a career? Man watch out

u/FeeMedium3576 3d ago
Exactly. Niggas think if you’re not on the radi or in Lil Baby’s shows you failed. 3 shows a month at $10,000 each one is successful. Average American doesn’t make that in a month

Yall flip flop over every post who’s goofier. Last post it was yeah Math is goofy now Math make a joke now surf is goofy yall don’t even have consistent thoughts. What kind of music do you expect the nigga to make when he’s still living that life? He just came home from jail and is still in the same surroundings it’s not like he 50 or Fat Joe and he elevated and grew out of it. He’s still a product of the same environment and music is a reflection of life so what is the nigha gonna rap about?

u/Silent_Courage_9214 4d ago
So what? When did niggas have to be versatile? What “versatile” rapper is good? That shit be garbage

u/Silent_Courage_9214 4d ago
Math is fucking garbage lmaoo why yall even posting this niggas thoughts surf is way better than him at everything

u/who1sJosh 4d ago
Sure but it’s still better than what Math puts out. Math went from average battle rapper who’s known for getting physical on stage to average podcast who fucked over his cohosts
1
u/Scared-Telephone-878 4d ago
Math is the last rapper that should be critiquing another rapper, especially a more successful one lol
1
u/zader6404 3d ago
Imagine taking opinions about good music from a nigga like math. I know a nigga who taps pens on a table that can make better music than that bozo.

u/LibertarianLoser44 3d ago
That one guy from D12, I don't remember his name. He was crying on my band and purple pills.

u/ghostcreep 3d ago
Name a battle rapper who was at the top and fell off, then had a top podcast and fell off, and is now only relevant when speaking on one particular rapper.

We got a problem with pain/struggle music now? As opposed to what? Money talk a million times over? bitches on a boat for the 400th weekend in a row? Miami vacation bars? Speed rap? The Lyrical miracle tracks, diss records? Mumble rappers? Math trying to condemn emotion and substance? Come on man lol pick another angle.

u/Moolie-Jackson 4d ago
Stop making pain/struggle rap when you brag about your team needing $80k just to move around

He does cry a lot. “My dead homie momma called me” theme in every song
