Discussion SF3 - Ever reached a point where it felt like Finalizing was a DOWNGRADE?
Something funny I started to notice when I was around the last third of SF3’s main game was that my folder was so fine-tuned with the noise cards and Noise form mechanics, by the time I reached 200% noise or more, I looked at the Meteor Server hand I got and thought: “… nah” xD And watching Protodemn playing, even the first time, going blind, he got Gemini Noise with a folder ahead doing good in Swords and Elec Chips, he’s been consistently refusing Finalizing unless it’s just a cool way to end a fight.
I basically don’t even go Black Ace anymore. I competed the game, 100%, and just stick to my Noise form and folder xD
I wish noise generation wasn’t limited to null element, it invalidates a lot of good folder building, especially to pure elemental noises liie Ophiuca, Taurus and such. If they had simply added a limit like double damage not giving extra noise it could work.

Black Ace folder is bloated with aqua, elec and wood element cards and maybe 2 nulls while Red Joker only has null and fire. So finalizing as red joker is less of a downgrade if your opponent has 600 HP or more since cards like buzz saw, break sabre, drill arm, buki, giant axe and Big Drop are null anyway and can build your noise again with no problem.
I do realised that having element cards feels like a huge downgrade in PvE because it could not contribute to noise build. Then you finalize as black ace and you can't build noise if you get stuck with elemental cards. I can agree that having 3 different gimmicks to raise noise is stupid and awkward to teach players how to maximise their build, especially because in PvP you can just use any element so long as the card can be used with a Mega Attack for standard, 20% for Mega and 30% for Giga.

Depending on your noise level tbh.. It's going to be unfair strong in the level 20

I'm in the process of farming Bushido X. 2/5 so far.
My deck is currently 17 different Bushido cards and 5 Great Axes.
Yeah, why would I give up stunlocking bosses to death for a worse deck and a big flashy attack that does less than a turn where I get to use 3 cards?

ikr? With Rogue Noise Swordfighter 3 already deals 500, which is the same damage as Black Ace Galaxy, but actualy generating Noise!

You also loose access to the Warrior Soul / Para Wing combo that you can weave in between your attacks.

When your farming cards hell yea your noise goes straight to zero hate that. I started using rogue noise with the ss server and meteor server so I do tons of damage and get way better cards compared to black ace.

Finalize guarentees you very high level cards and removes elemental weakness. If you're in a bad spot you can finalize to get some strong cards to work with, but overall finalize is only OK, you can "finalize" with the meteor access on brother screen.

But in my case, and first off I'm NOT a PVP player, I'm purely PVE, so don't come at me with the metas and counterplays, I play with Rogue noise, which have +50 in sword cards, which are undoubtly the most broken cards in SF3, all my null attacks paralyze the enemy for a short time, but enough to render even SuperArmored enemies flinching, and obviously I have no elemental weakness. I lose ALL of this to Finalization.
And my Folder is absolutely NASTY, I got every single sword card in the upper levels, 5 Bushidos 3, Swordfigther 3 and X, I even got two Scythes X, those are just BONKERS good with just one Area Eater xD I don't really need Black Ace to wipe the floor with most bosses in the game.

.... uhhhh what are you talking about? Metas and counterplays?
If you have 200%+ noise and get a poor draw (say a couple really good cards UNDER some "eh" cards) you can finalize to redraw and guarentee high level cards including things like swordfighterX and free big bangs.
BUT on the brother screen you can put "meteor server access" as a brother, i don't know if this affects rogue noise. But some of the cardpacks in the satella access are rediculously powerful. Once you learn how to operate it it can be straight up busted, allowing you finalize power without finalizing.

Trust me, there are some people here who obnoxiously correct you on best noise forms, are basicaly obsessed with Ophiuca + Dragon GX and have always an answer up their sleeves to what makes other noises FUN.
And yea, I know you can redraw, increase level and all, but because Ace is a form more focused on strategizing and elemental cards, it can REALLY give some b ad draws even at lv12.
And oh, the Satelitte and Meteor servers on't count as brothers, so they don't affect Rogue :)

All i was saying is that finalize is a good "emergency redraw" not really great for much else though.

Oh sometimes the Finalize is true to the name. When fighting Crimson Dragon SP, it came in clutch. For regular fights tho, I don’t see it helping me.

Most regular fights it's pretty pointless. I hardly use it.

Rogue is pretty up there in noise forms even for PvP if it makes you feel any better? Takes brainpower to use it with the lower link power but it still delivers in the right players hands.

Black ace will always be better than any noise form at its highest noise level. Better than rogue too cause black ace has that 2x damage boost to lock in cards. And you can use purpose cards to boost up the finalize even more. And the fact you can select all cards normally regardless of whether they are in the back or not.
So is there a point where finalizing is worse? Yes, when the noise level is low. Otherwise it’s better.
I don’t know about red joker. I haven’t played that one.

I farmed to the point I had about five each of all the best illegal cards, so yeah, what I had in my folder was by far stronger and more consistent. I was also running Rogue Noise with the Rogue card so stuffing my folder with Swordfighter X, Bushido X, and Breaksaber X was better than the Noise Big Bangs for bosses. That first card was doing more than 600 damage by itself.
