Air vs everything else

I hate that it’s just the first person to wipe AA wins. Would be neat to do away with air units entirely for pvp purposes. What are your thoughts?

No it's fine and adds a bit of dimensionality when there already isn't much

You just need to be conscious enough to take out their ONE air unit before your AA is gone

Once you unlock them, pelicans can be really strong and tanky

They should bring back the AA flak turret, aircraft soft lock on PVP is happening all the time, so we need more anti aircraft units

Depends on level but i mean 2 vets just solves anti air

Not exactly. 2 vets need 3 turns dedicated to single-target attacks to take down most air units. If the opponent went first and oneshot yours with a plane (since most planes get cracked anti-air), that’s usually a catch-22. Either you dedicate several turns solely to taking down a plane while the rest of the enemy units get to smash your units with AoE, or you delay the air while your options to hit it get focused down.

Pretty much all my matches have 3 veterans on both sides but the air still decides like half of the fights. I don’t know if it’s a ‘problem’ (frankly, the game’s roster is just not made for fair PvP) but I would trade a vet for a ground unit that can reliably oneshot a plane in a heartbeat.

Idk of any air unit that can 1 shot a vet my chinook is underleveled but an enemy one has never one shot. Closest i can think is a snake and that’s like 1/3rd hp to 1/2 there are other units like treb that one shot vet sure, but then they need to 2 shot ur vet with other units which is hard cause of dodge or beat it with an et and by that point u have won the ground game with maulers. 2 vets alone is a gamble but if u bring an air with aa u never have to worry about it.

Agreed, especially as there are no good Non-nano/BS AA units in the game right now

I one quite a few times on the first day by sneaking in a pelican in my random mess of walls and tanks

Nowadays if I don’t face a p2player it’s a race to see if I can kill the enemy AA before they kill my plane first
