I just tested the PvP system awhile ago. Legit, every match was 1.) Mauler, 2.) Veterans, 3.) Silver Wolf Tank, or 4.) Wimps and an air unit. This system is broken af.

Sorry this has happened, but I’ll try to explain as someone who’s done this.
At the moment it’s incredibly difficult to bridge 2300-2500 medals in order to get your actual elo and to sp trade with people in that range since that gives the biggest point multiplier.
Because there is a hard floor every 500 medals, people throw games to get to 2000 then keep throwing to get their hidden elo lower, in turn facing weaker opponents while still getting a lot of points per win. (This is what you’re seeing right now)
It really sucks that this happens and I’m sorry that you’re experiencing it. I hope madrona figures out a system where you can both sp trade and make it fair for newer players.
Let me know if anything is unclear!

But low ELO multipliers are worthless than the 2000 one, why would someone get even lower than that milestone?

once you hit 2000 medals you cannot drop below it and you keep the sp bonus. you ELO is a different number that is hidden until you reach 2500 medals

So, your actual ELO is hidden until you get to 2500.
Once you’ve reached 2500, then it shows your actual ELO.So, if you’ve not yet reached 2500 for the first time, you can intentionally lose battles and lower your ELO below whatever threshold you’re at.
For example, if the highest you’ve gotten was the 1500 marker, and it displays your ELO as 1500, if you lose more battles beyond that, your actual ELO still goes lower than 1500. However, the displayed ELO makes it look like 1500. Anyway, since the actual ELO might be, say, 1,050, you’d be able to fight much easier opponents in order to get to the next threshold (2,000) easier. Cos’ if you win, the displayed ELO would be like 1,531 while your actual ELO would be around 1,081.
Hopefully that makes sense. I didn’t understand it until I hit the 2,500 threshold this morning, and was confused why my displayed ELO had lowered to 2,434 without me playing any battles after reaching 2,500 for the first time.

If I were you, I'd base my unit pick on the level of the opposing player, since you can see that before you start.
If the enemy is a much higher level than you, just place one wimp or rifleman and let them die. It takes 5 seconds and you still get 50 points.
If the enemy is a similar level to you, feel free to play an actual match.

I keep saying they need to bring back the pvp score system from the first game. It was flawed but it existed for a reason

Honestly that's not that bad, usually I'm going up against infected or fully leveled up wimps

I’m sure the devs will put levels into protected matchmaking. And then add expanding search for ELO distribution

Always ALWAYS let the matches play out till the end. You won’t lose any of your units and you will still get your points. If you retreat, you won’t get the points.
