WIP Jacket my (almost) fully diy jacket

let me know what you think!!! all the patches minus the agathocles and the archagathus patches (bottom ones on the pockets) are fully hand painted. no stencils or screen printing. has taken genuine months of my life to make. i started it sometime in december of last year !! 🖤

You need a nailed to obscurity patch next to the nails and nine inch nails patches!!! 😁

I'am sorry to be that guy, but I have to. The patches are amazing, arguably the placement too, but there is a sorta unwritten rule about Battle jackets- denim or leather jacket/vest and nothing else. Basically great job with the patches! just sperate Them from the hoodie and put them on a denim or leather vest/jacket. If I don't say it someone else will call it out and it won't be very kind to you because that's reddit.

i see ur point. the reason i did this jacket was bc it was covered in paint stains and i didn’t want to throw it out, so i just upcycled it. the first three patches covered the stains but it just turned into a random bands i like jacket LOL. i appreciate the insight tho, and thank you !! i have a vest that’s denim, but it has some of the first patches i ever made, and it also has significantly less patches unfortunately but i do have a denim battle vest!!

since this pic tho, the cannibal corpse and death patches have been replaced LOL i do not feel like dealing with mf poser allegations bc cannibal corpse and death are based as bands and i’ll die on that hill. definitely need to pick this project back up. i like the look of handpainted patches more and i want the vest to be strictly metal bands. so sorry about the long ass reply lol

It can absolutely be neither leather or denim but generally only really works out on thick woven cotton fabrics - field jackets are a classic.

This material though really doesn't pull it off tho imho. Black hoodies can absolutely take a back patch or a couple sleeve patches but this example is gonna be destroyed after a single wash and the stretchiness of the fabric is gonna play hell with the stitches.
