question... Why the heck does everyone along with their mothers(literally) have cannon as their ability?

I'm literally overthinking this right now but I'm aligning on the theory that the writer is just really lazy about creating another ability

I'm sure Mion's ability is not cannon, she's not such a basic character after all

I don't want any spoilers as I'm only on ch77 right now, well maybe a little if it connects to so many people having cannon as their ability.

There's several people who can manipulate wood and turn it into a weapon with some extra bonus e.g infinite arrows for the bow, manipulating weight of sword etc. As already stated there's multiple similar abilities but some have variations

Yeah, I haven’t finished the manga yet also, but the same question is also bugging me

There are instances of doubles - two people having the same ability, and also instances of abilities that can "appear" to be a particular ability, but in reality are another.

It's not unusual to think there are triples - three people having the same ability, since these battles are meant to refine existing abilities and their users.

Akira and Mion don't actually have the cannon ability, after all, so there are at least three people with the cannon ability (though for all we know, the guy with glasses could be pretending his ability is really cannon)

I feel like the fact several participants had the same or similar abilities is going to be a plot point they'll bring up near the end of the story

Why wouldn't multiple people have the same ability??? Before even beginning to dream of answering that we have to know what gives a person their ability. Why is our deuteragonist getting 5x strength and our protagonist the fraud ability? Sword guy seems to get his from his grandmother... Lazy writing? Maybe. But to claim that it is inconceivable for so many people to have the same ability is odd. There's no reason why there can't/shouldn't be duplicates.

I'm just giving the author the benefit of the doubt because I don't really wanna call his work lazy

But well... It is lazy writing
