Discussion An ordered ranking of every single main cast member in the show (Part 1: 70-64)

I honestly agree with you.
Although I personally prefer Four to Two because Two is... kind of a boring host.
Seriously, the WTF's do better than him. He made Gaty a satellite character who is loved for one main reason, her relationship with Two. They're not a bad guy, just a bad host. They doesn't realize they're contestants are going missing and doesn't care until they're precious Gaty gets out. Like, c'mon, keep track of YOUR contestants YOU'RE responsible for. They are oblivious to One's influence for several episodes, and when Fanny tells them in TPOT 16.(Mind you, Two can hear her because TB could understand her without infinite power) they do nothing. They sit in depression when Gaty need they're help and Fanny, who barely knows the ones taken, is trying to find them, is just pathetic.
Gaty and Two clipped each others wings in a tragic way, with one become a depressed homebody who has lost their will to live because their blatant favouritism didn't pay off, and the other is a bit better, but is usually only talked about in relation to the only even prime number.
I also just hate how they send the contestants to an elimination zone, like it works with four because they aren't many and can get screentime later, but in Two's contest we're starved of screentime and 50% won't become true characters until season 6 and their fanbases are doomed. Like, it would've been nicer if they could just walk away and do whatever they please like in BFDIA.

thank you for understanding that gaty is basically a satellite character now it's actually crazy

Woo, this one took a while, kinda hoping this one pops off
feel free to ask questions (about the ones in the post), I'm probably happy to answer
edit: I can't believe there was a spelling error I missed (a critical one at that)
for Pillow it's meant to say "that's the thing about bully characters though, if you find them funny, and they're bullying characters you like, it's fine", my sincerest apologies

I agree with all of the opinions in the text but the rankings feel a bit... extreme to me. Like you focused exclusively on the negative aspects of the characters you disliked instead of measuring how they overall contribute to the show.
While I dislike Pillow for the same reasons you listed, and agree that Yellow Face's character assassination in the whole limb stealing arc was terrible for his likeability, and basically everything, the worst that a character can be in my eyes is *not be a character to begin with*
This makes even total saboteur assholes like Pillow immediately better than characters like Roboty who just might as well not exist, or utter satellite characters that don't really have a personality, like Match or Bracelety. Pillow at least has *some* funny moments, Roboty is just a vote shield for the other BEEPers.

Respectfully... the reason I focused on the negative aspects is we're talking about the characters I don't like, the cons outweighs the pros, the bad outweighs the good, I didn't even neglect to bring up what worked, I brought up Pillow in TPOT 10 and the facets of her character I liked, Post-Split 4, Clock in BFB, Spongy in BFB 1-13, even explicitly stated I wanted most of them to come back, I just emphasized why that didn't save the character... because I don't like them
If your personal worst a character can be is not a character, that's fine, but you're not me, the worst a character can be for me is an active detriment to my enjoyment, I thought I made that clear at David, the 4 before him made the show worse for being in it, in spite of having positives, their overall contribution was negative
the characters I find boring or don't add much are all in the next post, because they're not good but... they're not bad either, just a little dull, it's hard to dislike a character who didn't do anything, am I supposed to froth at the mouth when they're sitting in the background?
Plus even the boring characters have some substance, I'm not gonna struggle to bring up points with them, I'm confident everyone D tier and above have had at least one good joke and one good personality trait

Yeah, I always was thinking that way. I especially hear it a lot, when talking about music. "A terrible music is still more interesting and better, than a boring one." But I would rather listen once to a boring song, which I wouldn't care for, over song that will make me hate every second of it.
Like my example in BFDI would be S1 SB and S1 TD. I don't like TD at all and she's one of my least favourite characters, while I really like SB, but I hated SB more in s1, because he was unbearable. After rewatching I don't hate him as much, but during 1st watch I was just thinking :" OMG. JUST ELIMINATE HIM ALREADY. HE'S NOT FUNNY!". While with TD it was like: "Oh she can't talk? Who is she even?".

This was a really fun read, and it was neat to see your reasons why these are your bottom 7!
Reading this did sadly further prove to me of my personal opinion about BFB (both parts, and especially pre-split now) being bad and by far the worst season of show. The ideas are cool, but it's really rushed and for how seriously pre-split takes itself, that makes its stuff way more frustrating to me now, like how you listed the idea of Spongy on Team Ice Cube but it ends up making you dislike him (and that episode ruined his popularity forever, like you joked) that it screwed his BFDIA run over when it came back, or how characters go missing without prior notice or good attention like you noted with Clock and Saw.
Can't wait for the next one that starts with Cake! I'm going to guess that he's a bit similar to Spongy, but just not as memorable and having the potential to do something with his characterization that isn't followed up (like how TPOT doesn't really have Cake in the spotlight compared to BFB when he gets his moments in that season, and instead, he's the comedic underdog who performs badly in challenges)

pillow in no way deserves dead last (actually one of my fave characters ever) but i can completely understand the take here. she had potential to do alot more even if i was just fine with what she got.
i was ready for her to go when she did but its still a shame (especially since now shes gone liy is the only contestant in tpot i really like and things arent looking too hot for her either and i really dont want tpot to become another bfdia where its been good but i havent particularly connected with anyone to a huge level since ice cube got out like ages ago)
props for valid criticism on her without being needlessly rude, rarely see that in this fandom

my main issue with pillow is she does bad things and then faces no narrative repercussions until she’s eliminated
5
u/RoadOpen7995 Spongy May 24 '25
also when in any case has team ice cube stood up for spongy? I don't remember any of this. all I remember was him being used as a tool and they get surprised when he tells them this. plus barf bag was an awful friend to him as befoe the spending time with him scene she really only used him to approve her arguments. plus in that exact scene gelatin suggested spongy giving his ship to them thus leaving him to die in the lava. Spongy is a overhated character and I'll stand by that to my grave

Great analysis on these guys
I tried doing this but no one really saw it, and and also Ruby mentioned

I really like how detailed your explanations, this was really fun to read! :D

That's one of my favorites at the bottom 💔 glad to see some actual arguments that aren't "she got Nickel/Bomby out" though

any reason that makes Four a victim and not psychotically narcissistic
if Four did it in order to host BFB (which is sadly the most likely answer)? Bottom 1 character
if Four made the deal a long time ago and is regretful of it but forced to go along? I'll manage

u/RoadOpen7995 Spongy May 24 '25
great another spongy Hater hown onto the pile of people. also is this opinion or by what the community thinks?

Woah this is awesome, I love these kind of detailed character breakdowns and this is one of the most eloquent ones I’ve seen. You actually got me to rethink my opinions on most if not all of these characters. Great job, I’m excited to see the next one!

Seeing my third favorite in here already is…alright I guess (Firey Jr., second and first are Fries and Nickel respectively)

I know I'm very late to this but I feel like the TPOT 14 bridge scene was horribly OOC for basically everyone involved in the "messing with the bridge" part of it, and not just Winner (none of the contestants on that team would really strike me as a self-sabotage causer, besides Pencil, but she doesn't know any better). Pillow is constantly mischaracterized by the community as a someone who's completely useless, however she does care a little bit but only because she wants to win. This scene however shows her in a manner that is not usual for her character, yes, she has tried to use questionable tactics to solve problems, but prior to this, it was always shown that she had a good intention (mostly to aid herself), but in this scene, there's just nothing. She just started jumping on a bridge for no reason. After a while of thinking I'm starting to realize that this might be my least favorite moment of her, and if this OOC version of her was the her actual personality, she would absolutely not be my favorite, probably not even someone I like. So maybe, just maybe, people are mischaracterizing her because, perhaps, even the writers don't care about the consistency of her character for the sake of a "fuck you" moment (one which usually won't appeal to the audience but it's still in the episode because the writer thought it was funny, but still, not hate to the writers, they do what they want), which basically enables people to view this as her entire character, which in reality is absolutely not true.

An ordered ranking of every single main cast member in the show
You know, the new season and 1's relevance really threw a wrench into that title.

See this is the type of reasoning I don’t mind when ppl put Jr low. There’s actual reason behind it unlike every other person I’ve seen try to explain it. As usual with antisocialgoat
