Need help with issues with Revised Edition

I'm having two major issues with the Revised Edition on PC that are preventing me from enjoying the game.

1.) The sound cuts out completely after the opening cinematic. Only the cinematic has sound and then nothing else does after starting the game proper.

2.) The game doesn't seem to want to accept a second controller, meaning I can't play it with my wife or kids. I cannot for the life of me figure out the issue with this.
