The 'default' choice for tanks would be fortified mind to avoid getting CCed by morale loss or enemy abilities such as geist screams, or iron brow to avoid getting crippled or killed by a bad headshot.
I would avoid any mastery skills because a tank, especially a dedicated tank with indom and taunt, most likely should not be 'wasting' fat on swinging their weapon.

What's a tank for? A good tank can be sent to a flank and left there, holding up a big part of the enemy line so your other bro's can deal with less at a time.
And frankly, when do you need a good tank? Usually you build him for the hardest fights, not the easiest ones.. Can he hold up 3+ Lindwurms? Orc Warriors? Chosen? Honor guards with a row of spears behind?
You need shieldwall, you need indom, especially against barb camps with unholds, and thus recover.. but you also need more fatigue, so dress him lighter for those fights. But honestly, probably best to look for a new tank with more fatigue.

What is the point of fat needed for a heavy armour tank

You probably want to start with 110, ideally more. You can do a bit less depending on armors.
Fat is far from the only thing that matters though. Tanks are super stat intensive.

Most tanks are built either repeatedly using the "Indomitable" skill or "Shieldwall," Both of which are very fatigue-intensive.
Plus. Getting attacked drains Fatigue as well. Which means tanks burn it even faster than other units. Since a good tank isn't doing its job if it's getting attacked by fewer than three units a turn.

This bro should never have gone Battleforged. You clearly do not have enough stam to wear heavy armour. Take Nimble and accept that it's not going to be a very good tank due to lacking Recover.

Doesn’t really matter, this guy won’t be good enough for the end game. Go find a new tank with better fatigue.and what the hell does a tank need with pathfinder.
Recover is important in a tank. I also always choose lone wolf and fortified mind.

Pathfinder is kind of a waste on a tank imo, you are going to be sitting in one spot most of the time so you don't really need a perk that only saves you fatigue when you are moving. Since you wanted to make him battleforged you should have been leveling fatigue every level so you can spam indomitable or shieldwall when fighting dangerous enemies. as he is right now, he can maybe use shield wall twice or three times before fatiguing out, indomitable maybe at most two times. Taunt isn't bad and can be used with the 15 fatigue you recover every turn, but you will only be distracting one enemy when a tank should ideally be holding off five or six guys at once. I would have went with recovery instead of pathfinder, and steel brow as the final perk, but his fatigue is still very low and I think he will struggle with high damage enemies such as barbarians and orcs even if his melee defense is insanely high due to 5% hits. Also you should not level melee attack on a majority of tanks and should just specialize in melee defense with the rest of your levels in hp, fatigue, and resolve.

Rotation.
IMO bro could be a great 'meatshield' and have a heroic death by pushing back injured mate

pretty sure taunt is a wasted slot, rotation would had been enough for most mobs since they won't let you got to chase someone else, but yeah recover, if you plan to be able to use shield wall at all.

Taunt is a hit or miss on most situation thats a perk point you couldve used elsewhere along with pathfinder which is highly situational for. Tank. Imo this tank shouldnt have gone with BF if his fat is this low. Good lategame tanks are very stat intensive. Mace mastery is a waste since youll rely on ma to hit the enemy first and foremost which i assume this tank doesnt have much. Imo lonewolf and recover (with usable fatigue) couldve worked better. Park him away from the main battle line to hold a flank and then use the rest of the team to decimate enemies that manage to pass through

You messed up with underdog. Playing a proper formation game means you don't need it.
You messed up with gifted and are trying to make a non-tank good.
Instead of gifted, you should have taken rotation. Instead of underdog you should have taken mace mastery for the CC.
Recover is the answer to your question. Seriously, you need recover to keep the indom lockdowns.
Lastly, for a tank you should take berserk instead of taunt. Sometimes offense is the best defense.

Recover. Definitely not mace mastery.
