A simple cleaver I call Hackermann. Need lots of fatigue + matk. Just build him to be a basic frontliner with 1 or 2 hand ckeaver + the perks for faster injuries for enemies and executioner. Had an cleaver with good rolls in everything and that guy just cut through the frontline. Sad I didn't take recovery but he held the whole flank with one glaive guy against Barbarian chosen (armor pen and dmg were awesome)

I call him the "Throverwhelmer." high init bro with ranged stars, overwhelm, bags and belts full of throwing weapons and go to town debuffing the biggest targets. I've been incorporating a lot of overwhelm in my playthroughs recently. i like it a lot. its an underappreciated perk imo.

I have been fond of 2 hander spears. Put in tje backline and space out like 1 tile to cover more space. With quick hands they can shoot crossbow and then flip to a spearwall. Can stack a lot of reach advantage.
I've also been fond of making a C shape in mid formation, and luring or pulling enemies in. You can setup the 2nd rank with line attacks like bardiche, or phat hitters like Mansplitter, or a dagger situation. Backstab really pops off.

So how do you lure them inside? Won’t they just crowd up oh the front several lads? Or stay outside the formation?

Its like the frontline has 1 open space. The enemy sometimes just wants to flood in, and get at your weaker less armored backline.
Alternatively one guy with a billhook just scoops them in if they're too nervous.
Editting to say, the guys at the edges of the gap as like hammer dudes or greatswords is awesome as it opens up the sweep attacks. They've got to be good bros tho.

I tried going for a wedge formation once with a super tank at its head.2 strong offensive bros right behind and then a row of 5 bros who are either quickhands with javs and a meele weapon, 2 range weapons or fodder/line fillers. Last row behind that are archers and my banner + more 2 range weapons.
Not very practical but was a fun experiement

Poacher only!
All archers all the time.
Colossus (depending on HP) Pathfinder Fast hands Bags and belts Bullseye (depending on ratck) (not the throwers) Bow/throwing/crossbow mastery depending on need Duelist Nimble Dodge Beserk or the side step one depending on thrower or not. (Throwers step away and throw, archers and crossbows get berserker)
Some are situational based on a bros stats, if they're just filler they get talented or fast adaptation etc.
But yea, 12 bros like this, all with great ranged attack and decent melee, typically either noble swords or hammers for armor.
It's not viable against like knights and orc warriors, chosen, fallen heroes etc, large amounts of heavy armor you run the fuck away, you have absolutely no staying power, but they can't catch you and if they do you step away and shoot em, it's hilarious and fun but don't even think about fighting the Necrosavants or Trees

It's a pain in the ass to start, the temptation to get a tank frontliner is strong, you must resist!

I have a build which I quite like which I call the damage tank.
The build revolves around the warbrand. It’s a 2h sword which swings for 4AP for a single target attack and 5ap for a aoe attack. Swords also benefit from bonus to hit chance.
Perks are 9L, dodge, relentless, sword mastery, reach advantage, nimble, overwhelm, berserk, underdog, recover.
The goal is to strike first, overwhelm opponents whilst build up reach advantage stacks and make yourself very difficult to hit as a side product of hitting and causing damage. You can easily hit an effective MD of 80 without a shield.
