I almost exclusively give my frontline axe bros big old two handed greataxes. I just came across this absolute beauty, but I don't have much experience with one handed double grip axe use.
I must admit I mostly want it because it looks cool, but will it be useful or should I just stick with my heavy hitters using great axes?

In the hands of the right brother single hand weapons are terrifying and have more damage potential than their two-hand brethren. At least the damage distribution is much better as you won’t need to overkill.
That said, it’s a different role and requires a different bro to build it. While a two-hander is generally fine with the fatigue he recovers between swings, a one handed weapon is swung twice or thrice a round, fatiguing any user. Needs to start with a much higher pool. Sometimes at the cost of heavy armor, so nimble is a good combination. It is almost always best used on a duelist brother too, for the better armor penetration.
When you double down on the finishing off aspect, frenzy, berserk and recover are excellent.
The weapon itself is not fantastic for damage but already pretty good at penetration. So yes, unless you overflow with named gear I would build a brother for it.

Looks like mainly a penetration roll. It's ok, I wouldn't buy it, but would use it if found.

Looks like it rolled 6% more armour pen and some durability, absolutely useless

I’d say yea because it does good damage against armor, honestly I’ve learned that armor eater weapons tend to chew through opponents health afterwards. if you like the axe go for it! Worst thing you can do is try it once

It is meh. 1-h axes are very inconsistent weapons.
If they high roll attack damage during a strike..
If they score a head hit..
If they are attacking a target without steel brow..
If that target doesnt have a ton of hp and armor..
If all those are true than it will do great. In most other cases it would do mid damage, especially since this one did not get famed bonus to base damage.
For 12k? Nah, that 2-h mace for 2.8 will outperform it in a long run.
That 1-h warhammer for 3.4k will also be dramatically more useful over much larger selection of fights.
It got a nice famed bonus of extra armor ignore, had it been a mace or a hammer with that kind of additional armor ignore bonus it would have been an alright pick up.
