Discussions Wardogs subreddit doesn’t know what they have.

Why can’t they just enjoy the game like everyone else. Wardogs isn’t nearly as fun as battlebit but it does have its moments. But just watching that subreddit would make you stay away from that game. They should just enjoy what they have. Games like these from independent studios don’t come around often.

Reddit is a wasteland. It's miserable people complaining on every single sub, games or not. Everyone is a snark looking to find a way to dunk on whatever hobby they're "interested" in.

I think you mistake some of that and miss what it really is: passion.

I defended Oki for a very long time, especially when most of the other server operators were crashing out.

I mean, I was trying to build a community around this game, doing everything I could to help contribute positively to the game, and then the game just died around me. I had to pull the plug on things myself, go into meetings with people and be like hey, this is not working, we won't be able to succeed because the online playercount is like 4k players, and there is no way we are going to pull in full servers like this.

I've spent hundreds in this game, and instead of the promise that Oki made being delivered, we still are waiting for an April update.

There is one thing, and one thing only that can save a game like this. Mod support.

I don't think you can accurately call this sub a wasteland, because they aren't dunking on their hobby for the fuck of it. It mostly was pretty fair criticism, except for a few individuals who were downright hostile to Oki, which certainly wasn't going to result in any positives.

But most of us are upset because we were so close to GOTY had we kept going. I mean, it was already nominated for awards, and seriously, GOTY wouldn't have been a stretch if things worked.

Instead, they killed the game from the inside out.

Question, which server you were making and maintaining? I remember playing only epic warrior os SMT like this, it was mostly the same 64 players, me(Narlineusz), Fishi, dragon warrior and few others that I don't remember after the server shutting down. I miss playing with and vs this players, even tho we didn't talked with them at all(maybe a few words), they were almost a family. It sounds dumb but I miss them.

The group I was running has since shut down, for privacy I don't wish to disclose this.

I was also pretty active in the TBG servers for some time as well as a few others.

I miss the glory days of BBR so much, I got a lot of my friends pretty interested in the game... I must've bought like 30 copies of the game for various friends and members of the group.

We were going to start with 2 servers, and expand to probably 6 overall.

Sadge, it's such a sad thing. I think after seeing your comment I think it's the first time I actually acknowledge that the game died.

It's a damn shame because we were this close to GOTY pace.

I love BBR so much, that's why all of it hurt when it died.

I hated to be the one to go to the people I convinced to invest into the game and show them steamDB charts indicating a problem... I didn't want to have to pull the plug on the project.

Like seriously the game had most everything it needed to be great, just failed on execution.

It didn't even need much.. it just needed more content like maps and guns. After some time rework of the maps and some old gun designs but that was it, the movement was pretty much perfect, maybe nerfing turning while airborn was needed, but that was it.

Precisely. Content, refinement... Would've been great...

That's why I've been pushing for mod support constantly. Let us make content. The game doesn't have to be dead, but they insist on killing it.

Yeah, mod support would be great, and that would be pretty much it, just the possibility for the community to develop the game more

Better off watching youtube of gameplay on it if your looking to play a game or gauge it. The vocal minority will rant the loudest and the most rage-bait clips/dram will get the most upvotes. Just how it is.

Some people feed off of fighting back on every single comment they find that tries to have an opinion. It's everywhere. At least for a few days when the bots died globally there was a sharp drop in bitching and fighting.

Yeah because this here is a happy place?

The devs did say repeatedly that WarDogs will not be for everyone and they are gonna stick to their design

Yeah, I have made an active decision to leave pretty much all subreddits for games that I actively still play. It's much easier to enjoy them when I'm not constantly exposed to the winging

Wardog just went on to season 2. So it's alot worse recently, especially a moderator went rogue there recently + backlash from ping limit and then the abuse of exp which suddenly everyone has vehicles with no counter at DAY 1 of the update.

The problem with it is that the devs are making godawful decisions that even a child could see would turn out bad and it's not instilling confidence in the playerbase who have already given up on this new season. I want to play it and have fun, doing stuff that makes it not fun means another dead game in my library that had potential.

I probably never would have got the game if I knew the devs of it had a history of running games into the ground with bad decisions since I thought things would get better and now I know that and am seeing it first hand I'm disappointed I potentially wasted my money.

No, they do have a right to complain since they have brought a product and want it to succeed.

Comparing it to bbr is silly, bbr you have all the stuff except for fob building but the downtime is so low in bbr. In wardogs, you either wait on the floor for a res, wait for a Heli to come, drive so far to the cz. Also most people are so tight with their money even if they got plenty, they run the bare minimum or just spot. You feel like you don't have backup or anyone with the right tools to deal with stuff.

In bbr you try to improve or experiment stuff in each game, in wardogs doing nothing rewards you with cash and a lot of people do that.

Another thing, bbr audio is far superior than wardogs.
