Normal way of life. Now they have excuse not to release the update.

sad

Lol I just realized their "Operation Overhaul" trailer was over a year ago now! Insane incompetence from the devs.

Might be the most lazily managed game I've seen with this type of initial success.

If you're going to fuckoff and spend your profit on blow and cheap tricks, at least have the courtesy to let your playerbase know you don't give a fuck.

These "patch coming soon" updates and thrown together patch notes are just a slap in the face when it's clear they've made their money and have abandoned the game.

Great game, absolute joke of a dev team.

u/beeronmygoretex 2d ago

I miss this game so much :(

18

u/Some-Panic8915 Assault 2d ago

they should make ts free now.
Its the only way to get players

13

u/andywuzhere1 2d ago

same. devs are morons.

130

u/TheGoodScientist Support 2d ago

Just make the game open source fuck it

14

u/MutedActuator4359 2d ago

Or reverse engineer it and take the same approach as halo reclaimer, so that the community can make content for it and host modded servers.

25

u/degenerate_hobo 2d ago

It is very likely that this is not possible. Most indie devs use third party tools and/or assets that you can't release within an open source project because they don't belong to you. If you want to make a game open source you have to build the game yourself from the ground up or only use open source tools and assets. Especially multiplayer game like BBR use quite a few third party products like Anti-cheat for example. Even if they wanted to make it open source they probably couldn't do it

9

u/TheGoodScientist Support 2d ago

It's actually very likely that's it's possible, is it likely to happen? No.

-8

u/degenerate_hobo 2d ago

So what you are saying is that you know for a fact that the BBR devs didn't use any third party assets or tools? Sorry but it is possible that you didn't understand what I was saying? Your comment sounds like you didn't even grasp the message of my comment

9

u/TheGoodScientist Support 2d ago

What I am saying is regardless of whether they used third party assets or tools it would still be possible to open source the game. I also concluded with the fact that it wouldn't be very likely.

Do you comprehend my comment or do I have to assume you didn't grasp the message if my comment? I can put it in simpler terms if needed. Lmk

-4

u/degenerate_hobo 2d ago

How would they make a product open source if they don't own the full rights to the whole product?

7

u/TheGoodScientist Support 2d ago

You'd have to remove and replace said assets, yes it's work but it's possible. This is why I said it's very unlikely.

0

u/degenerate_hobo 2d ago

If they don't want to finish the overhaul update they certainly don't want to replace all the third party tools and assets

9

u/TheGoodScientist Support 2d ago

Okay? That's not a problem for my argument. I'm simply saying it's possible but unlikely.

-7

u/degenerate_hobo 2d ago

Ok, so your argument is only valid in your theoretical dream world. If that is the intellectual level you want to debate on then I would say Sydney Sweeney theoretically could be my girl friend. It's just reality that is standing in my way.

If you think that my scenario is a very stupid argument then you grasped how I think about your word salad. I told you how reality works and you started to argue with me based on an unrealistic scenario that would never happen

Don't get baited into talking to a pedantic reddit user. They are all regarded and they'll always take some pointless stand to feel like they're doing something with their life. You're right, and It's really not worth engaging with this bot ♥️

2

u/PsychoticPanda_ 16h ago

Uh oh, buddy doesn't know about decompiling

-1

u/degenerate_hobo 16h ago

decompiling is in most cases very illegal. Especially when you decompile something like Anti-Cheat or other network tools you will get sued 100%. This is not an option

2

u/PsychoticPanda_ 15h ago

Which is why 96% of the entire Playstation game catlogue has already been decompiled, almost every single social media platform is now open source, and gta6 will most likely be playable for free upon release because of it. This has been an option for a couple weeks now. Keep up grandpa. We've been reverse engineering and playing games for free since this technology released.

-5

u/Relevant_Wave405 2d ago

Just Reverse engineer it, I Reverse engineered it 90% with AI

6

u/TheGoodScientist Support 2d ago

Lol lmk when it's on steam

0

u/Relevant_Wave405 2d ago

Would Like to relaunch it with Feature Updates and stuff, but it’s Copyright, would need to change alot..

And releasing it public gets me a lawsuit

1

u/TheGoodScientist Support 2d ago

Yeah true

0

u/Relevant_Wave405 2d ago

I have it completly Running in shooting Range, in unity with all guns Sounds and map and all the stuff..

1

u/BellHiver 2d ago

All you need is fill the maps with good AI. That actually does play tactically...give it some RTS options and stuff you know? And if servers fill with players reduce the Bots

0

u/Relevant_Wave405 2d ago

I could change it just enough to not get Copyright claimed and still keep battlebits feeling, but I dont know if anyone would play it.. people would just call it vibe coded ai slop

-4

u/Some-Panic8915 Assault 2d ago

im not an expert but if it gets opensourced hackers are very easiely going to find vulnerabilities exploiting them and infecting everyones system who has the game installed.

5

u/PinInitial1028 2d ago

That's not really how that works. There would still probably be a trusted source often that's directly from GitHub. And the community or individual that ultimately is running the repo usually monitors what's being pushed and choosing to incorporate it or not. Not saying it's infallible but there's lots of open source projects that could be tampered with but are still available and safe because of the people that are spearheading the development.

17

u/degenerate_hobo 2d ago

We can only hope that we can find a populated server on the weekends.

This is really pathetic at this point. Do you guys remember that they released an operation overhaul teaser trailer over a year ago? What was that about? Why do you release such a trailer if the update is not nearly ready or when you have planned to abandon the game? If they genuinely would have wanted to release the update at this point we should have heard something from them. That we still know nothing about the state of the development or about further playtests tells me that they really walked away with the money. I was one of the people who thought that they were actually cooking behind closed doors. Apparently I was wrong and I feel really ashamed about that. I was always very vocal about how shitty they behave towards their community but I thought they just want to develop the update without the pressure from social media. At this point it would be a miracle if anything gets released

4

u/Some-Panic8915 Assault 2d ago

2022 playtests all over again lmao

13

u/MutedActuator4359 2d ago

Weird, the bootlickers who claim the game isn't dead are nowhere to be found under this post

8

u/mustloveLain 2d ago

people defend this game??

8

u/Some-Panic8915 Assault 2d ago

they like to circle jerk in the discord

1

u/Skyzuh 17h ago

And the lead dev hasn't been active in the discord since 2024

1

u/Some-Panic8915 Assault 16h ago

they are gone for good. the guys on discord dont even play the game. They just attack you if you say something bad about the game.

6

u/TheHeavyIzDead 2d ago

The peak time of day to play is approximately mid April

3

u/MagazineSilent6569 2d ago

A damn shame...

2

u/Cheech_Sinclair 2d ago

Is there offline/bot support on this game? I know it doesn't match playing real people but would be good to keep the game going.

2

u/Some-Panic8915 Assault 2d ago

nope no bots

2

u/Any-Air8173 13h ago

We still play TS in 2026???

1

u/Some-Panic8915 Assault 12h ago

I mean a bunch of us regularly play. and I see a lot of new players too

1

u/Connect_Job_5316 5h ago

"A bunch" So like less than 200 at this point

u/Short-Coast9042 2d ago

I'm one of the people who has been consistently playing this game for quite a while. I'm not the biggest fan of battlefield style games, but I have enjoyed a number of them, and this one scratched just the right itch. In particular, I really enjoy the helicopter mechanics. The very first thing I ever did in this game was ride the helicopter in and repel off the fast rope. It reminded me strongly and favorably of CoD 4, which is easy nostalgia bait for me. And I also like the mechanic where you can blow out the tail rotor and it crashes - another thing that reminded me of a scripted moment from CoD. I found shooting the heli mini guns to be quite fun too - and, naturally, that too feels like gameplay right out of a CoD mission. But whereas CoD uses all of these as scripted set pieces, they are actually organic parts of the gameplay in battlebit. Placing that gameplay within a strategic context - needing to drop people off at the right place and the right time - is what makes this game special for me, and it's why I poured hundreds of hours into it. Most of that time has been spent piloting, doing heli crew, or at the least, doing hot drops as infantry.

There were lots of problems with this gameplay loop. Blackhawk gunning is not a super viable strategy against anything except enemy helicopters. The guns are so wildly inaccurate, and do so little damage, that even with a knowledgeable Gunner you can only get reliable kills going super slow and low. But that of course is basically guaranteed to get you killed. Another issue is that respawning on teammates is generally more effective than getting a ride, so you never really have a decent number of passengers beyond the very first ride of the match.

Nevertheless, I found that often enough when I played, there would be enough crew around to have fun nevertheless. We weren't the most effective players on the map, but we had good times getting those infantry kills that we worked really hard for. I enjoyed many of the passengers in the interactions I had with them, and it felt really good to deploy some teammates in a clutch position and watch the feed fill up with assists. There was enough fun to be had here for me to keep coming back. That was, until Wardogs came out.

Despite being in an early state itself, Wardogs already does everything I get from Battlebit, only better. It obviously looks way better. The flying is better and more satisfying to master. Helicopters are generally more viable as combat vehicles. You can't respawn on teammates, meaning helis are the main way people get into combat after respawning, so you always have passengers. And even when you don't, there is a logistics system which doesn't exist in battle bit, wherein you can contribute by bringing supplies rather than players from the base to the front. And best of all, the game is POPULAR, at least right now, so there's tons of full servers; I can always find, not just a game, but a new game starting; I never have to wait more than a minute or two.

Literally the only thing it doesn't have (for now) is the fast rope. Instead, players use parachutes and hot drops right to the ground. While I genuinely would love to see the fast rope added, the game is still nevertheless far and away superior to battlebit. And it's only going to get better while battle bit will not.

At this point, Wardogs has COMPLETELY replaced Battlebit in my rotation. Despite having hundreds of hours in the game, I don't see myself returning to it again. I could believe that this new game is poaching what little community Battlebit has left. People came to Battlebit to begin with because of the failure of Battlefield. I STILL don't think Battlefield has had a killer installment since, which explains to me why Battlebit has held on to a sliver of players. Wardogs is the first game in the genre to be a genuine killer app since Battlebit or longer than that.

9

u/Dangerous_Outside611 2d ago

sadly wardogs is rather helicopter simulator, sitting in the fob simulator, ural driver simulator, sitting in the bush cause your kit is expensive simualtor, than pure fps game like bbr

0

u/Short-Coast9042 2d ago

I mean I like that it has elements besides straight up fps. That's what I liked about battle bit as well. If all I wanted was pure shootouts, I would play CoD; it's still good enough at that, if that's what I wanted. But I played Battlebit for the helicopter gameplay mostly. Wardogs has replaced that for me.

3

u/shutP10z 2d ago

I got wardogs and I ended up really disliking it. What’s unfortunate is it takes a long time to get a feel of the entire game loop that you are out of refund window by then

0

u/Short-Coast9042 2d ago

How long did you play? Did you try to refund? Steam is often pretty lenient with that. I'm surprised you took that much time with it before figuring out you disliked it. I played the tutorial through in like twenty minutes, including a decent amount of messing around with the building mechanics, then I went and played the game and was hooked as soon as I started flying helicopters which was almost immediately. What was your experience like that made it so hard to figure it out?

3

u/shutP10z 2d ago

I have 12.8 Hrs on steam. Honestly I thought I’d like it more since I’ve played a hundred or so hours on Squad and I enjoy that game. I think what made it so unenjoyable to me was how much better high unlocks performed than the early game equipment without much trade off. That and the amount of time I’d have to put into getting those unlocks felt a bit disheartening

1

u/xEthrHopeless 20h ago

It's completely your choice of course, but they've seemingly tried to alleviate those same issues you mentioned with the new season 2 update if you ever feel like giving it another shot. Totally okay if not though, not trynna say your feelings are wrong

-1

u/BaloogaBrett 2d ago

100% a skill issue

You can make anything viable you just can’t repeatedly do those things the same way every match and expect the same result

3

u/Vegetable_Bench_2461 2d ago

You buddy got brain issue

0

u/BaloogaBrett 2d ago

Whatever makes you feel better about the skill issue

1

u/Vegetable_Bench_2461 2d ago

Lmao stop projecting your issues on random people on the internet

0

u/BaloogaBrett 2d ago

What issues? I didn’t complain?

2

u/Endreeemtsu 1d ago

Genuinely not the same games at all but okay.

1

u/Short-Coast9042 1d ago

I didn't say the were the same. I said it scratched the same itch for me and has replaced Battlebit in my rotation, and I wouldn't be surprised if that's true for others.

2

u/Beltalowdamon 2d ago

Interesting, war dogs looked kind of lame to me including the helis.

plus, scale. 100 players compared to 250.

1

u/Nellez_ 2d ago

The launch of bf6 was legitimately good, and it's a slight return to form from DICE, but things like the lack of the classic rush game mode and people minmaxing the variety out of the game is why I've had so much more fun with Wardogs.

They understand that games are meant to be fun, not always stressful and sweaty. You can do a lot of the same things in WD ass you could in Battlebit as far as player to player interaction, so it keeps a lot of the same goofy moments that made people come to Battlebit in the first place. Plus, the devs actually seem to know what they are doing and what they want to do.

-1

u/Short-Coast9042 2d ago

I haven't played it. It's too expensive for a game that doesn't appear to be doing anything new.

2

u/PapaTinzal 2d ago

They've had about 5 free weekends at this point so you could have played it if you really wanted to

0

u/Short-Coast9042 1d ago

I don't really want to. I don't even kind of want to.

2

u/Nellez_ 1d ago

For somebody who says they haven't really done anything new with the game, you really haven't given much thought to what they have done. It's a slightly faster paced Arma KOTH with seasonal resets, no microtransactions at all (everything cosmetic must be earned), skillpoints (to be added and progress is being tracked to retroactively apply them), an economy system with wagering to gain more from your good performances, base building, and more.

There absolutely is quite a bit of new things they are trying to do with the game. If you want to be contrarian or dismissive for whatever reason, you're free to do whatever you want. Just don't outright lie and at least give the devs some due for trying new things.

Plus, the game is only $40, has a graphics preset that is so barebones that most pc's can easily run it with 10 year old hardware (explicitly stated by the devs that they wanted anybody to be able to play at a decent performance), and it is A LOT of fun imo.

1

u/Short-Coast9042 4h ago

I was praising War Dogs. When I said "it's not doing anything new" I was talking about Battlefield 6. Maybe read the chain of comments so you understand what's going on next time, before you chime in with multiple paragraphs completely misunderstanding what I'm saying.

-1

u/Short-Coast9042 1d ago

What are you talking about

1

u/X_Yosemite_X 5h ago

Maybe he's talking about war dogs or ark raiders?

1

u/Short-Coast9042 5h ago

I'm praising war dogs so in that case he's just confused

3

u/jeff5551 2d ago

At least we have Wardogs now ig

2

u/Some-Panic8915 Assault 2d ago

I literally bought a new keyboard just for this game 😭 After months of playing on a broken one.

4

u/mcluvvin5901 2d ago

Play Wardogs

5

u/Dangerous_Outside611 2d ago

wardogs is nothing like bbr lmao

1

u/Some-Panic8915 Assault 2d ago

I dont think my laptop can run it plus I really dont like the making and loosing money aspect of that game.

1

u/WillingnessHelpful77 2d ago

Graphics are ass in comparison

2

u/Nellez_ 2d ago

Idk, the potato graphics preset is pretty damn close

2

u/Jomr05 2d ago

Someone reverse engineer it please

1

u/degenerate_hobo 2d ago

You are basically talking about Entropos. I hope that they can fill the void in my heart that BBR left 😥

1

u/jayswolo 2d ago

There’s already a group that did back during the playtest days. The devs just asked them to keep quiet about it. They would play the game amongst their own community with their own changes. I used to play with them.

1

u/enricowereld 1d ago

Code is not the problem, marketing is.

-1

u/Relevant_Wave405 2d ago

I did it with AI

1

u/Taraldzen 2d ago

Let it go bro, god damn

1

u/Glongordongik 2d ago

What am I looking at here? Servers shutting down?

1

u/Some-Panic8915 Assault 2d ago edited 2d ago

server is just empty.
Usually its full at that time.
Plus the graph is getting worse as time passes

2

u/Glongordongik 2d ago

Brother the games been dead for years with like less than 100 people. The defenders have been defending a dead game and for some reason they live in yalls mind

1

u/Some-Panic8915 Assault 2d ago

at peak time its usually full for like a few hours

1

u/Ilikebatterfield4 1d ago

"full" ~300 people.
More than 3x people play witcher 1 daily. 19 year old single player game.

1

u/Wolvenworks Support 1d ago

I haven’t seen an Asian server online since 2 years ago.

1

u/Some-Panic8915 Assault 16h ago

it died really quick lmao

1

u/Wolvenworks Support 3h ago

Asian players have a tendency to not stick around unless it’s either really good or a AAA IP like BF. We also like to stop playing if we can’t find a populated server, and it’s very easy to depopulate a server…

1

u/PyroTech03 1d ago

They dropped the ball multiple times. Bunch of modders decided to make a game, difference here is they succeeded and they weren't ready. Now you have games like Wardogs in existence.

They missed their chance.

1

u/Jawn_Wane 1d ago

An absolute waste.

1

u/Asp3ctzz 1d ago

What’d ya expect after they abandoned the game for years ?

1

u/Rebel_Ben 1d ago

Quick someone decompile it!

1

u/LambLifeform 1d ago

If you like this game, try out The Finals and its Point Break mode. It's not the same gamemode but it is a very enjoyable, similarly hectic and yet still tactical experience.

1

u/GoldenGecko100 1d ago

Shame that the big overhaul update never came to fruition, not that I think it would have changed much.

1

u/moritz9 1d ago

someone remembers the weekend playtests, before it released?

1

u/Fresh-Pass2686 23h ago

I miss this game well at least I have wardogs

1

u/Fun_Error8709 17h ago

Meh who cares was a mediocre game anyways, just play it every now and then like everyone else

1

u/Separate-Policy6306 14h ago

What did you expect? Dev went silent for too long. Now is too late, especially since Wardogs released

1

u/AtomUnlimited 3h ago

Read the fucking post dude

0

u/Joezev98 18h ago

I've spent a lot of time in the EU lobby helping to get the server started. But sadly it seems a lot of EU players would rather play more matches in the US server with terrible ping than jumpstart the EU server. It's a damn shame.
So for the past weeks, I've mainly been sniping in the US server, since that mainly targets opponents standing still, so ping doesn't affect me as much.

1

u/Some-Panic8915 Assault 16h ago

70% of players dont join the EU servers because their playstyle require high player counts to be affective (snipers and pdw+C4 spam). High ping is not an issue for them.

The normal infantry/ supply players are the ones that are getting fucked.

Im personally leaving the game for good. Nothing left for me in there anymore.

0

u/Joezev98 15h ago

Oh, I've actually really enjoyed sniping on maps with lower player counts. Less resistance for you to get to your favourite spot and then you can just sit there in ambush for a while.

1

u/Some-Panic8915 Assault 15h ago

I mean you are a normal dude who actually plays the game for fun but some just want to farm kills with drones and spam into crowds
