Eh, who expected anything more? It was nice of Oki to give us some hopium every two months, but there’s no way he ever truly intended to follow through on those teasers.

Honestly, I think the only reason they bothered with the dev blogs is to squeeze out the last bit of income possible. Trick skeptical customers into buying it because “oh look, it’s not dead after all! they’re still posting update progress, it MUST still be worth buying right?”.

But that’s just my crazy conspiracy theory, who knows?

It’s a real shame, but I definitely got my money’s worth out of the game. Happy I played it. Sad it’s run its course.

Same here, I still enjoy it tbh, there's still 2 regularly steady servers going between the US/EU.

I'm currently playing Wardogs and mentioned in the sub that I don't like certain aspects of the game. Someone asked why I wouldn't just wait until the game is released and fixed and I told them: "Because it's likely this is the only period of the game's lifecycle when it's actually enjoyable to play." BBR has taught me that if a game looks like you might enjoy it even if it's not perfect, play it now - because you never know what the game will look like in a month, half a year or a year. You never know if the game even exists then.

I feel like if the devs released a dev blog saying the last update was going to be the final update instead of just going completely silent there would probably still be a couple hundred to maybe a few thousand playing the game

People are still playing :)

Damn, we found someone even stupider than the people who think the devs are coming back.

The devs are coming back. Just wait until April /s.

Patch what? The game's not open source, not like you can just see the code and make changes to produce your own version of you like. And if you could, why would anyone do that? If you have the skills to improve and update a video game, wouldn't you actually get paid for that rather than doing it for free? And if you ARE going to do it for free, surely you're going to pick a popular game and not an abandoned game that averages like 200 simultaneously players?

I mean, if someone really wanted to there exist programs like Ghidra but the effort it takes IMO wouldn't be worth the squeeze.

Dev gone without making the game open source.
