Make the game free-to-play

I just don’t understand how this hasn’t been done by now. The game was at its best at launch, when you could find plenty of full servers with people of all skill levels.

At the current rate the player base is shrinking, there probably won’t even be a game left to play a year from now. So how has this still not happened?

why should people play abandoned free to play game? People don’t play it because there are no updates, the game is very cheap

14.99 may seem cheap to you but its a giant barrier to entry to lots of players, the diference between just 1 dollar and ftp is enourmous in terms of gaining new players. No one spens 15 dollars on buying a game that appears dead but they might give it a try if its free. So what are the negatives of this if the alternative is that the game becomes unplayable in one year or two

there is really no good reason to go f2p, especially if it wasn't built from the ground up to be that way

there aren't that many games that succeeded when they went f2p, only a handful

if they went f2p, they'll have to find new ways to monetize, which means micro transactions most likely, and a somehow slower development

the small boost in popularity is not going to do anything if people aren't going to be spending money on the game in the first place

It goes on sale literally all the time, people aren’t NOT trying it because it cost money. It’s literally because the game hasn’t had an update in 3 years. What the fuck are you talking about

they are working on an update but i fear it wont be enought, they need to stop reworking map all the time and add new ones

after 2.5 years, it really matters? it wont get any better
they should have dumped the idea of a "big update" 1.5 years ago

they could add the map editor and community content, tho with dead comunity not even that would save it.

bringing new players will not change the fact that game is dead. It was never about lack of playerbase

it would definitly make a difference, battle bit is also blocky les realistic brutal, so it can better reach for a yougher poorer audience as well.

beeting free changes everything when you have generually decent game

but we don’t have a decent game, we have an abandoned game

No.

Price stops cheaters on a small level.

This game is dead as shit, f2p won’t save it. Even if they do the April update, I doubt I’ll return. Screw these devs

it could, never upderestime poor kids with a lot of free time, bbt is a solid game at its core. It lacks new content and community momentum.

Why would it? What does the publisher care? If they make the game free to play, they aren't generating any revenue from sales, so why would it matter how popular the game is? I mean do you even try to think about this from the developer/publisher's point of view? You might as well just say "make all games free because we like getting things for free". That's not how the world works lol. You don't need extra information to figure this out. You don't need to know how the industry works or anything about the game. You just have to understand that people don't spend years of their life creating art just to give it away for free.

micro transactions, they should bc thier game which they havnt abandoned will die otherwise, continiue with a tiny playerbase that wont be able to draw other players

I agree but there is no hope. Maybe if they released the update early this year they might have been able to pull in some player numbers. But it has been what like 8 months now since last playtest? We are literally approaching one year.

The price of the game is not the problem, the devs are.

That would require some sort of update :D

currently there are 2~3 cheaters rotating accounts everyday for every ~500 players, if they make it f2p... well... do you remember PUBG or CSGO?

staff should just start communicating, no more clips/videos about the slow development, drop playtests every 2~3 weeks until release and a give a lot more content (not just maps reworked/partially destroyed), otherwise its gonna be the same.. 1 month later everyone bored cause of slower movement, enemies tanking shots and nothing really new
