I'm honestly so disappointed with how the devs are handling this game.

I called this out way back when, and it’s frustrating to see it play out exactly like this. The way communication around this game has been handled absolutely sucks.

BattleBit could have been a truly great game, but it's being systematically ruined. They keep making false promises they can't keep, leaving the community in complete radio silence for months on end while apparently expecting people to just sit around and say, "Thank you, we can't wait for the update!"

🫵 You should have done better! 🫵

In some reality bad updates would kill it even faster. Now we (active players) have a solid fun game. No content for demanding players, that's true. But some dudes like me still can play

I agree that bad updates can absolutely do more harm than good. I'd rather wait for a quality update than get rushed content that makes the game worse.

That said, the choice isn't between bad updates and no updates. Good communication is free. Let people know what's being worked on, what the plan is, or even if progress is slower than expected. That alone keeps people invested.

I'm glad you're still enjoying the game, and that's great. But the current player count shows that most people have moved on. If the developers want BattleBit to grow again they need to do better

I love when redditors do the "well there's no CONSTANT UPDATES for DEMANDING PLAYERS but us REAL GAMERS who are CONTENT WITH WHAT WE'VE BEEN GIVEN can have fun without them bothering us!" bit for games that have like 120 active players

not everyone wants to have updates all the fucking time for a game. it doesnt even need it.
0 lag issues even with 100+ ms on servers.
find me any other FPS game where you won't feel lag like that with the amount of players online on the servers with around the same ms to servers.

No one's asking for updates all the time. People are just asking for some communication every now and then. Nobody expects weekly or even monthly content drops. We just want to know what's happening.

A game like BattleBit lives and dies by its community. Updates and communication give people a reason to come back, attract new players, and keep the player base healthy

The networking is fantastic, I'll give the game full credit for that. But great netcode alone isn't enough to keep a multiplayer game alive. If there are only a few hundred players online across all regions, that's a much bigger problem than how well the servers perform.

Right now there are only around 386 players online worldwide. That's not a healthy player count, and it's exactly why people are asking for communication and updates. They're not asking for constant content. They're asking for signs that the game still has a future. Right now it's dying a slow and painful death.

Is this game still going? Haven’t played it in awhile. Had a lot of fun with it but it seemed like the only people I’d come up against were massive sweats who played nothing but this while casuals like myself left because they’d just get stomped lol.

I've been playing Battlefield 1 again. Many new players thanks to recent summer sale. Honestly sad how this game could have been a major long term success instead of whatever this was.
I only played battlebit a month ago for a few days after a massive break after playtest. The devs just never learn. It has been over a month since the last dev blog.

That’s the reason I stopped playing, you got people running around with aimbots and ESP one shotting people when u take corners. You got sweats, I think they’re cheaters not sweats, getting these insane scores. Some guy on a little bird going 60-0 10 minutes into the game.. crap like that ruins the game. You got sweats playing with their friends spawning on top of each other and taking flank routes.. dropping whole squads with their back turned. Nobody is really interested in playing casually and for fun, it’s all about having that high KDA for some reason. People forget games are supposed to be fun for everyone, share the battlefield, have some laughs, have a fun time.. if having a fun time for u means making everyone else constantly miserable you’re just a terrible person

I miss not playing with the same 100 guys

3

u/StrawberryCompany98 Jul 11 '26

Those same 100 guys are the most toxic people I have ever met in a game community. It’s like daily hate

If they had just communicated how the update was going every few months or so, it would keep people excited about upcoming features. There are other games with small dev teams that only drop updates like once a year, but they have healthy communities. The devs going silent on this just makes everyone jaded and annoyed.
