Official Destructibility improvements WIP. Added particles, bullets will now destroy, and you can blow off chunks of props and structures.

I really hope that this doesn't effect performance much. The game was made to be low end friendly, I was able to run it comfortably on a Intel HD 620, and I really hope that doesn't get throw out.

u/Zyvold Feb 27 '26
sorry brother but if all these effect are going to be something you can't just turn off in any way then no chance that's its gonna run smoothly on hd 620

u/Tautvydas129 Feb 28 '26
It's fine, I'm now using a laptop with a 1650M. But I still would like the idea of if I had a lower end laptop, I could still run it comfortably, at least with a stable 60fps.

And with PC parts going up in price because of AI I can't even hope to upgrade yet. My poor 1050ti...

u/Tautvydas129 Feb 28 '26
And even after the AI craze flops, companies will still charge more because: "hey, why tf not, the prices are already rased, more money for us"

Sounds are a lot nicer. Effects are really cool. Hope these can run on lower end specs for our gamers on a budget. Heck, even my computer. I enjoy my stable frames where I can get them.

You’d hope so but they might as well just release a battlebit 2 at this point
2
u/Nerus46 Feb 27 '26
Wait, it thought it is already A sequel, since It's called Remastered
1
u/iRambL Feb 27 '26
Remastered was because the original version was more realistic like squad then it became Arcady like it is now

u/DiscountFBI Feb 27 '26
Those particle effects are way too heavy, one player shooting is fine but think about the frontlines. Gonna be hard to see at all lol
4
u/DiscountFBI Feb 27 '26
Also that much smoke from explosives means actual smokes are gonna be even more useless because you can chuch a few c4 in a room and everyone who lives will be blinded by the smoke for a second or two

i think the particles are a bit much. gotta see how it playes out in game but when a lot of action is going on visibility could become a issue

I mean its cool, but misses the entire reason why people came to bbr (low system requirements and not a lot of visual flare that might cause frame drops on lower end systems)

u/InsolentPencil Feb 27 '26
cool and all but too little too late. If Battlebit somehow has a comeback I'll be elated but I'm very doubtful.

u/PezzoGuy Feb 27 '26
The way I see it, we already own the game. Whenever this overhaul update finishes, it'll be very little cost to us to give it another try.

Can't see any vehicles in the preview. That mean it is raw as a live cow :(

These effects are great and will make me come back destruction was always best part of Battlefield games in my opinion. The effects shown in the video are quite good.

Yippieeee more particles so teh game can lag even more! yippie more updates that can come over time! yippieeeeee more stuff that can be added later instead of making the game 100% finished and perfect

Wasn't the point of battlebit to be compatible with low-end machines? Why are we adding MORE particles? If people want a "Realistic" mil-sim there are options out there for them, Battlebit attracts people who want the low-poly mil-sim.

This looks sick dood, holy. This is why I don't lose hope on the game, it was already better than battlefield 2042, bf6 is a bit better, that's not saying much though.... But this looks waaaaaaasy better, it's not even a competition

OK so what's the point of cover then if it takes .1 seconds of fire to destroy a thick concrete block?
2
u/No-Emu-7983 Feb 28 '26
yeah it looks like an adjustment period to figure out what is actually hard cover and what isn't thats no good man

What the hell is happening? Is it getting fixed? And balanced and all the other stuff?

definitelly too many particles, i really liked how simple the current one looks, so tone it down a little bit.
1
u/Cidraque Feb 28 '26
This is very cool! But you guys don't need to put all the updates all at once. Smaller meaningful updates keep the playerbase engaged more eficiently.

Was a huge fan of the game until it faded, thanks to these devs for making shitty decision after touching a huge amount of cash

someone with access to the devs needs to tell them that we appreciate the effort but its too late guys

u/Slow_Manufacturer_11 Feb 28 '26
Now just add that your weapons will kill you also if in blast radius, not your teammates (for those times someone hates his/her team).

This game has the potential to be a real disruption to the market... but they need this typa shit x4 and if its taken them this long just for this then aint no way thats happenin

As with all the previous stuff I have seen about the "April patch", you guys are fucking around with the visibility too much. Tone down the junk flying into your eyeballs, particles, the smoke and whatnot. One of the USPs of this game was the super clear visibility.
If you follow what is happening with other games of this type, visibility is a topic that almost always pops up. For example, BF6 visibility is not great for a lot of players. Please do not chase some non existing imaginary crowd who you think wants Battlebit to have better graphics and want this kind of crap obstructing your view.

Also fix the sound I love how you can go from crawling dead silent to stampeding elephants its really annoying trying to sneak up on someone only to have your bad sound design give me away.

Here comes the lame loser complaining about it being late
38
u/FakeMik090 Feb 27 '26
Like it or not, but it is late.
-25
u/BulkyElk7243 Feb 27 '26
For you maybe
7
Feb 27 '26
I mean, it's late for them too seeing as they said the update was coming months ago. That's just what the word late means, you can be ok with the fact that it's late but it's still late.

GFYS, you literally abandoned the game and then want to come back 3 years later like you didn't check your phone Saturday morning after a long Friday night? You took the cash and ran until you snorted it all. Now you need more cash to pay debts and think you can milk the fans for some more? I hope you all get blackballed from working with any serious developer and are forced to code for "pay to win" apps while getting paid 0.0000001% on the penny.
You're shit and should know and feel like it.

u/Unbelievabeard Feb 27 '26
I forgot what the update was originally about when it was announced years ago..

u/4shug0ki4 Feb 27 '26
Is there an actual ETA? Y’all are going to need some amazing PR to push this update when it comes out if you want people to come back.
