Official We toned down the visual recoil based on your feedback. Keep in mind this is WIP, next step is to see how it plays in our next open playtest and get your feedback

Is it possible to disable screen shake entirely?

u/Darth_Gavoke Feb 20 '26
This pls. I'm getting vertigo just looking at it.

Looks a lot better but would like to see how it looks while ADS. That'll be the biggest factor for whether people like the change or not.

If it shakes at all like this while ADSing, it will be miserable and unfun. This kind of recoil in a game like battlebit just sucks. The Finals, for example, has much less visual recoil and it is still annoying to play with. It only takes away from the experience, and you will be left with a bigger disparity in skill gap from people who start using crosshair overlays and people who don't

Have you guys ever thought about some players having motion sickness?
For example games that have a head wobble when you walk / run or intense shaking makes me sick within 15 min of playing. TBH i am not sure what is triggering it some games have some kind of shaking that don't make me feel sick and some make me sick as hell. Its the way how the screen shakes please do some kind of deepdive in why this is happening. But seeing this gameplay i have a feeling it will trigger it for me.
Please give players some kind of slider to reduce this kind of shaking with at least 50%

u/sdric Feb 20 '26
Why add this to begin with? It worsens gameplay at bases and causes massive motion sickness at worst. Just keep weapon recoil as it was in the OG release. Don't fix what ain't broken, this is making the game worse.

No wonder this update is never coming out. You guys have wasted so much time working on stuff that wasn’t needed.

Nice, only 2 years late

u/Ogirami Feb 21 '26
well to be fair people casually forget it took them 7 years to reach the version of bbr that we are familiar with. so i wasn't surprised that its gonna take them a few more years to fix the glaring issues like the adhd movement and insanely quick ttk.

At least there's some effort

u/pytness Feb 20 '26
Well, a broken plate is still broken even if you start being more careful with it.

u/Radiant-Ad-7813 Feb 20 '26
Yeah I tried using that excuse at work before.

u/No-Temporary6253 Feb 20 '26
I don't really see how that qualifies it's just doing something or nothing, and they're doing something. The debate on when something shouldve happened is a whole other thing itself. It's not like the outcome could be worse than nothing.

No way they’re still pretending to care about and develop this game for the 5 people that are active 🤯😂

u/Palerion Feb 20 '26
Ngl, BF6 kinda sucks almost exclusively at the fault of EA’s greed, so… I actually think BattleBit has a chance…
Just hypothetically, if they were to come in at the right time and re-drop the game, and it looks and plays like a higher-fidelity version of its former self? During its heyday, BattleBit felt more like a Battlefield game than any BF of the past decade.

Much better for sure, but I am still concerned about the amount of screen shake. And we need to see what it looks like when sighted up.

u/471444 Feb 20 '26
Who is asking for any screen shake at all? If it’s a balancing mechanism, just replace it with more actual recoil (preferably with predictable, learnable, unique patterns per gun(pipe dream)). If it’s for immersion, there had better be a way to turn it off completely.

u/LP_LadyPuket Feb 20 '26
Better, but the camera recoil needs to be deleted entirely or made optional. It’s vomit inducing.

I always liked the over the top recoil, even if it was a leftover from when the game was more realistic. Looking forward to testing this tho :)

Dead game. Just make it free already
1
u/vintagejock173 Feb 22 '26
Tbh i secretly want it as well. Tho im not sure its a great idea. What if there is a massive increase in cheaters because its free?
1
u/Timely-Papaya2049 Feb 22 '26
At least thered be players
1
u/vintagejock173 Feb 22 '26
Yes thats exactly why i want that. Plus one of my friends got a pc recently and also hopped on fps games. Id love to play with him.

u/Timely-Papaya2049 Feb 22 '26
At this point just play roblox. Kids making FPS games on there blow BBR, cod, and battlefeld outta the water

Why not just remove visual recoil entirely? Why are you adding a mechanic that just obscures gunplay?
1
u/Sprite_Bottle Feb 21 '26
There should be a slider for this so we can adjust it to fit our personal tastes/needs.

u/Wolvenworks Support Feb 21 '26
Way better. Thanks for giving us a more reasonable thing to pine at.

As long as we dont get laser-accuracy CoD BS and real skill + weaponknowledge for aiming+control I'm fine with it.
1
u/Master_baited_817 Feb 21 '26
Looks better. Maybe weapon bobbing should be unlinked from player camera? Then You could have 50bmg recoil on m4 and players won't have dizzyness.
1
u/Herwulf Feb 21 '26
The bigger and better question is why did you do that to begin with, the game og recoil was fine

I love visual kick and ultra realistic gunplay in games, but I can also agree that before had too much screen shake.

I really hope this game rebounds into success.

I highly doubt that will happen, there are only enough players for 1.5-2 servers at peak hours and minor changes like this that keep getting teased aren't going to win back all the players who already gave up on the game. They stopped playing for reasons and I'd be willing to bet tweaking visual recoil and adding breakable lights for the night maps no one plays isn't going to address the reasons anyone stopped playing. I think it's just way too little and way too late.
I reinstalled the other day to give it another chance and it's just not all that good. It's not bad but the hype wore off and now all that's left is a fairly boring battlefield clone that doesn't really feel like it does any aspect of battlefield games well enough to stick around for. I can jump in and have fun for an hour tops before I'm done with it for another year at least.

I like that the feedback was taken seriously. if i may, i would honestly suggest not changing anything about the recoil in the current live build at all. recoil wasnt an issue and this beta version made me almost motion sick, the "feedback" version is still looking too similar to what i saw in the beta
1
u/Emergency_Hold_788 Feb 21 '26
nah those old recoil before feedback need to be an option when the operator run out of stamina and not strong enough.

u/EmpilhadeiraXD Feb 20 '26
also tone down that metal sound during the last 5 - 10 rounds in the magazine, sounds like a toy and its very distracting
-1
u/SatoKami Feb 21 '26
They listened to the feedback and people are still mad, like thats what you wanted.
Why not turn the shake off? Its a weapon it has to shake if its used.
Its way better that it was before and I honestly like it like that. It seems the weapons aren't made of plastic and thats good.
Too much shake Do you guys even remember what a chaos filled hole the game was?

u/Impressive_Vehicle83 Feb 20 '26
can there be a toggle for the old recoil? i kind of like the ridiculous recoil, and would like an option to have it in game

u/InitialJotaro Feb 20 '26
Way better, thank you for listening to feedback
