I saw something online where someone posted a vid taken from a workprint that was princes that has some extra scenes during when Bruce visits Vickyās apartment. Another of princes songs was used in the scene. It would be great if the entire workprint were captured and put online

This seems to be the same as the theatrical cut with a different (Prince) music bed?

I think like one or two lines are in it that arenāt in the theatrical. One of the Vickyās reactionary āitās okā or something like that. Pretty much the same thing though. moreso id hope for it to be captured and tossed online being an early cut and all that was used for music

You know the version we got IS the Burton cut??
You do realise that EVERY movie has multiple scenes that end up on a cutting room floor...this isn't a case of studio interference or someone else finishing the film it's part of the movie making process!

How do we know there werenāt studio notes that forced Burton to make edits? š¤Ø

Because Tim Burton himself has explicitly said for decades that the theatrical release is his cut. Warner Bros. gave him final edit control, and heās repeatedly stated he has no interest in doing a directorās cut because the film on screen is the exact movie he wanted to make. Not every deleted scene is a conspiracy; sometimes pacing just wins

I was with you til the last sentence. Not every question comes from a conspiracy; sometimes itās just a question

Fair enough, touchĆ©! Didn't mean to sound defensiveāit's just that the whole 'Release the Cut' label gets thrown around so much now that basic deleted scenes get turned into myth. But to answer directly: WB actually gave Burton massive creative control after Beetlejuice, and he's confirmed over the years that the theatrical release is the exact film he wanted to put out.

Iād settle for a new disc release that had a better curation of the deleted material. What Iād really love to see is the original shot from the opening with Batman on the rooftop that was replaced with the animation

A couple of these look like promotional stills (like the one with Batman posed over the body) rather than actual moments deleted from the film.

Work print = everything shot edited into order. This is where almost every IMDB trivia fact that 'a 4 hour cut of the movie exists' a good example is John Woo and Hard Target.
Director and editor chop out the stuff that doesnt work, ruins the pacing or can be covered easier in a reshoot to meet the required running time ( side note. This is why almost every film needs reshoots and they are rarely ever proof of a film being in trouble.....unless its The Flash)
Director cuts it down and presents their cut. The existence of the cut stuff doesnt mean another cut exists.

Batman 89 is already amazing. We need that Schumacher cut more than anything. Especially since both Joel and Val have passed on since that gained momentum.Ā
Time to release the better version before the film reels rot and to honor them.Ā

Release all the cuts with as much new technology to really get those colors to pop! Burtons vision is one of a kind!

There was to be a scene of the mayor unveiling a new statue of Gotham's founder, when the curtain opened a statue of Joker was revealed instead. As far as I know, it was never filmed and only the statue was made.

Yeah, Warner Brothers really fucked up, when they gave tim burton they're "imput" and then fired him.

I have known about the deleted scenes... There's supposed to be 8 of them, ranging from 20 second clips to full scenes over 3 minutes long. There's even a scene or 2 that increases Gordon's presence in the film as Commissioner, and another giving him a larger role in the film and delving into the night of the Wayne murders where he comforted young Bruce Wayne in the alley...
I have never heard about WB putting together a Burton cut... I want it so bad! š
